Unpopular opinions:
WCW was pretty mid
Stone Cold was overrated
Rock is the greatest all around athlete/performer ever
Vince was right about keeping the show going after Owen fell
HHH was the best heel of the 2000s
TNA was always low budget cringe
AEW has more upside going into the late 2020s than WWE

What are some of yours?

>>

What spot was that?
WM 38 was a fun show, 39 I only remember the main event and 40 I fell asleep watching
Agreed, I tried rewatching it one time and it was so mid
Raw was pretty bad, but smackdown was usually good, outside of stuff like JBL as top heel and when the midcard featured Matt Hardy vs MVP every week
2012-2016 is an interesting choice

I'd rather watch women wrestle for 10 minutes than listen to any of them talk for more than 2 minutes.
There has never been a good straight up Tables match.
I liked the NXT 2.0 set.
Broken Dreams is a shitty entrance theme.
I really like Japanese Wrestling games but I can never get into their real life products.
Paul Heyman and Don Callis are significantly overrated as on-screen performers.
Max Caster is an Enzo Amore tier shitter and each of their promo abilities isn't nearly enough to warrant overlooking that.
>>
>>21398425
Vince did not get worse with age the only thing that changed about his booking was the people he had around him and how much he listened to them.

Sami Zayn is the best total package wrestler of his generation and it's not even remotely close.

Agreed, women's matches mog men's matches these days
There probably is a good match, it's somewhere

Roman sucked as a babyface
Seth is the best worker of the Shield
Randy is the most talented of the OVW class
PG era is overhated
Only the Rumble and Mania are important
HBK's second run was better than his first run
Flair is overrated
Mid 2000s Taker was the biggest star in the company
Rock was always corny
Jericho is a legend
Omega was overrated
WCW was better overall in certain areas
Vince is a carny snake
Cody is the best babyface ever
Miz deserves more respect
Meltzer is a blessing and a curse
CM Punk is an all time great
AEW will forever be the number two show
Anyone who has to go to Japan to become a star is guaranteed to have been a jobber in the West

I'll take it a step further: Taker, accounting for longevity, is the biggest star WWE/WWF ever had and kept them fed during the lean periods when everything else sucked.

In a vacuum, I really don't hate this spot either. I just really, REALLY hated how Aubrey immediately sold for it. If he gets in her face and threatens to kill her if she doesn't count or something I can totally live with it. It's the fact that he immediately and "aggressively points" at her and she's more than happy to count that pissed me.
Seriously, the referees in AEW are fucking garbage outside of the guy that looks eternally nervous all the time.

>>

>>21409241
Casuals like seeking crazy, goofy, or dumb shit. Shit they can't see anywhere else.
They don't give a fuck about ring psychology. Which isn't to diss ring psychology at all (I love a match with good ring psychology) but it's just that your average casual isn't going to notice it much, same as most people around here didn't notice it until someone got into their ear about it.
Conversely, grappling stuff seems boring and that's the type of thing they feel insults their intelligence because they know it's fake and aren't going to bother suspending their disbelief about it.
Again, I'm not shitting on anything. I like those things and am not a fan of flips for the sake of flips. But when people aren't jaded by seeing so much of it they tend to just enjoy it, even though it's not necessarily something they'd watch regularly.

They really should have played more into unique background scenes like they did with the zombie match instead of floating Edrone heads. Give a Mortal Kombat / Street Fighter feel background during the matches might be cool

>>
If you have a good enough roster, you don’t need to do angles or storylines. You will draw solely on fans wanting to see their favorites succeed.
>>
>>21414363
>you don't need to do angles or storylines
how's that working out for AEW?
>>
>>21414375
NTA but he did preface it with "if you have a good enough roster." Which AEW does not.
I'm not sure I agree with him anyway though. You need storylines of some sort, even if it's in the form of tournaments and title chases.
>>
>>21414375
Im not a fan of that style of wrestling. But the absolute worst part of their shows is the wrestlers pretending to be bad at each other or whining about how they aren’t friend no more.
>>
Not really an opinion. But you can follow multiple Japanese promotions for the same screen time investment as you do to watch wwe, aew or tna.
>>
You really should just watch older wrestling.
>>
>>21414407
It's true. Only the big monthly shows are "must watch." The smaller shows are just house shows that aren't essential viewing.
I solely watch Japanese wrestling and probably watch less wrestling than the average person on this board.

The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak is overrated compared to his overall career
Cody Rhodes is a great babyface but his character can get boring
Seth Rollins is a better wrestler than Roman Reigns
Batista was a better main event star than people remember
Jeff Hardy's popularity was bigger than his actual wrestling ability
Kane was more entertaining than The Big Show
Bruno Sammartino's legacy deserves more respect from modern fans.
Randy Orton has a stronger overall career than people give him credit for
AEW has too many matches and not enough meaningful storylines
Tony Khan needs to say no to more wrestlers
MJF is better on the microphone than he is in the ring
Jon Moxley's character needs more variety
Factions are often used as a substitute for individual character development
A wrestler losing momentum is often worse than a wrestler losing a match
Rhea Ripley shouldn't need to be involved in every major women's storyline
The Attitude Era is remembered through nostalgia more than reality
The Shield's breakup benefited Seth Rollins more than Roman Reigns
The IWC ruins wrestling by overanalyzing everything
Shawn Michaels is overrated as an in-ring storyteller
>>
Seth was always superior to Roman in every way. Ambrose is the distant third to the point that it's funny.

Of you are going to an indy show with a normie it is best that an indy show has wild flip and garbage matches. But if you are building a brand with TV content it's best to build character and personality and have more basic matches as the personalities will drive the content and too much of the other stuff loses it's luster fast wnd then nothing really stands out
