Learning how the world works clearly demonstrates that the stuff sand niggers from 2000 years ago wrote in books is obviously bullshit, but the general idea behind religion can become appealing.
I believe that the most approachable way to understand this is when you first begin have a real grasp of thermodynamics and come to the realization that life and evolution defy entropy. Organisms becoming more complex and organized over time is the complete opposite of how the entirety of the universe functions, it's not a huge stretch of the imagination to think "intent" is involved.

I think you can be very religious in the sense of deriving your moral code/role models from religious figures without necessarily believing in nonsense like god creating the earth in 7 days and manually creating all plant and animal life at the same time, or miracles like walking on water or endlessly replicating tuna sandwiches

Science originates from religiously devout people, in fact you saw a lot of the greatest leaps in science from religiously devout scientists. Science used to be used as a way to analyze and describe the way God shaped and made the world/the mechanisms that keep it running, it was like that for a long time. Then modern times came along and science is twisted into muh heckin science as a mechanism trying to disprove God and corrupt his design by stating stuff like a man can magically become a woman and visa versa.

This. The idea that science and religion are and were always opposed only arose coincidentally at the time Marxism made it's mark.

not understanding point in OP pic boils down to lack of mathematical understanding of what the universe is capable of on it's own.

reddit for a reason, young nigga. You are a scientist SO THAT you don't have listen to others talk about religion, young nigga.

It's true. The most delusional people are the ones that try to justify their believe with science.
I don't mind you being Christian but don't try to tell me about Noahs arc being real or that we have gone through two incestuous genetic bottlenecks (Adam/Eve and Noah and his wife)
The Bible is not a history book accept it.
    >there were dinosaurs on the arc

Everything about science that isn't about cutting your own balls off was invented by Catholics btw. No amount of shitty popes changes that.

Science was never twisted to disprove 'god', its disproving was a natural consequence. Sometimes lies can be useful like the 'god' meme was [maybe]. I have disproven 'god' here: >>545300387 and nobody can disprove it without appeals to "the infinite" which lack a model or system which describes a thinking knowing acting "infinite." All so-called answers so far are handwaving and wholly unsatisfactory!

Religion and science answer different questions. Saying "we don't need religion anymore because we have science" is like saying "I don't need my ears because I have 20:20 vision".

These fuckers are embarrassing, this ignorant Hog can't conceive of a Scientist being religious when 90% of historical scientific research was done by Christian men in awe at what they perceived as uncovering the Mystery of God's creation. This Cunt thinks he's so clever when he's such an ignorant waste of Oxygen Dunning-Krueger Nigger in reality.

The argument from incredulity can be auto-ignored.
These donuts still think that TENS is a valid theory so their vaporings about religion and/or God(s) can also be ignored.

oh, you get it. very nice.

to expand, these two areas require different kind of thinking patterns and different kind of assimilation of thought. one can be quite accomplished in a field of science, have some decent success etc. but never learn to think in different patterns. this will, often result in the fact that these kind of people are like the scientific middle management: kind'a there but never at the top, for the very simple reason that they never expand their ways of thinking and never learn to think for themselves, truly and out of the box.

it is like they are permanently stuck at loevinger's lvl 4, a conformist, but never get to go higher, they are also often the most arrogant ones, even when they hide it very well, but underneath they have a plethora of either resentment, jealousy or disdain for the ones who were humble enough to challenge their own ideas and their own assumptions and were able to rise to autonomous or integrated levels.

also, every 'scientist' who attempts to prove or disprove God using science, is a fukin' moron and does not understand that the foundation of the belief in God is 'faith' and not the fuckin' scientific process.

last one: every other person who tries to shame, ridicule or attempt any similar thing to anyone who harbors any kind of religious beliefs, short for those who were hurt by religious figures in position of power or trust, as they have a valid excuse to associate their trauma with religious thought, is projecting ignorance so immeasurable or simply attempts to drag others down to their level of simplistic thinking, eitehr way, is acting malicious, and the question to ask: is this malice intentional or not, then act accordingly.
