Gen Z supposedly cares more about politics than any generation before them. They have strong opinions on everything: elections, wars, social issues, ideology, climate, identity, you name it.But look at how they actually engage with the world.>Politics is treated like fandom.>Political movements have aesthetics, merch, slogans and influencers.>Political arguments are reduced to memes and viral clips.>Every social issue becomes a team sport.>Halloween, festivals, parties and group outings are still massive parts of youth culture. It's like everything has to be turned into an experience, an identity or a form of entertainment.Even politics isn't necessarily about understanding how society works. It's about being part of a movement, having the right opinions, displaying the right symbols and feeling connected to a crowd.Maybe Gen Z isn't the most politically engaged generation. Maybe they're just the first generation to turn literally everything, including politics, into content. Are we witnessing the politicization of entertainment, or the entertainmentification of politics?
Based, zooms have learned the cosmic joke and are treating politics accordingly.
Politics has always been about celebrities and partying. Democracy just increases the number of celebrities and parties. It's always been normalfag shit and vibes and attraction.
