Remember when Migas were acting high and mighty about how it would have been soon theirs?

It will be after the midterms we have to finish the ballroom first.

And it is. Did you miss the news? Denmark signed off the "rights to defend the island" to the US, which in any period of human history means ownership, but the 21st century is funny so we have to use all kinds of euphemisms to avoid words like "concession" and "war".

The important part of that deal is that there was no time limit. The rights were signed off forever. And in a sense, it's actually BETTER than just giving the US the island because Denmark is still paying for Greenland and its policies while the US gets to explore the island all they want.

    it IS theirs though

    >"rights to defend the island"
So they sit in the cuckchair defending the island, but have no rights to any of the resources huh.
    >>
    >>545295715
Follow the news more closely, they clearly got the rights to whatever resources they wanted. It's already even started.
It's just not going to have an effect anytime soon because Greenland's resources are stuck under several meters of permafrost, in places where infrastructure does not exist. The island's population isn't even large enough enough that it can support the scale of mining that would be required. The population is going to double or triple over the coming years as they have to bring in people to work.

For /pol/ standards yes, but it's easy to see how a normalfag could have missed it. The news I'm talking about was basically forgotten the next day because the deal was explicitly worded in a way that preserved the Eurocuck's image.
    >we give you everything you want but we don't call it a concession, okay?
    It was literally that.

    It is now tho.

Trump was all talk but no action..

He backed out like a pussy when Greenland and Eu stood up to him.

He's not a retard and he hasn't missed anything, this is just standard europoor copium that gets deployed by the liberals to cope about the failure of the Weimar government. It's done because the recognition of it being lost would imply that a) liberal democracies can attack each other and annex each other's territories, in direct contradiction to the Fukuyamist liberalism that dominates the EU and NATO, and b) that the EU strategically rolled over because it is a client state of America. Two implications that would be fatal to liberalism on the continent, that would instantly generate a stab in the back myth and another set of November Criminals who signed a treaty that no one actually supported.

The lesser evil is to act as America's shill and run flak for America's hostile annexation by either painting it as a goofy "migatard" country that failed to annex it, or just play it off as a nothingburger that fellow europoor readers shouldn't be that upset over.

    >>545296151
Wait the EU stood up to the bully? So when are we sanctioning America, exactly?
    >>
    >>545295528
    it is ours though

I don't know, the Danes and other Europeans were smiling ear to ear during the signing because they were just resigning existing treaties and agreements.
    >>
    >>545296638
You're actually taking the smiles of politicians at face value?
The people in your country are far too pure, please don't get involved with the rest of us, Iceland.
