Ytpipo used to make some of the most legendary rock, metal and punk songs from the 70s through the 90s. Why did they stop? Where is the gen's Motorhead, ACDC, Bad Religion and Iron Maiden?

It's still being made, but you have to look at where people are very, very white.

    >Where is the gen's Motorhead, ACDC, Bad Religion and Iron Maiden?
    They don't have one.
    It's over.
Never stop paying homage to rock (metal).
    Also, Priest.

    >Why did they stop?
Anthony Fantano types infested rock and completely ruined the perception of it. Most people who listen to it now are nerds. Normalfags and women get the ick from it.
Many systemic advantages bands had back then that don't exist today. There just being way more venues for small bands to play and get feedback on their songs before the album. A lot of debut albums were done live in one or two takes because the band played it so much.

Not to mention the people whose job it is to curate the best talent via record deal have given up on rock, so the listener has to dig to find something good, meaning good bands don't get discovered. Plus the best producers and sound engineers don't do rock or metal anymore. The ones rock/metal gets are really good but not world class. They optimize for consistency and not personality. It's why every modern mix sounds sterile and lifeless.

Not to mention how derivative everything is now. Neural clones of amps. IR to simulate mic'ing an amp. Bands imitating other bands.

The music industry started promoting rap and mindless pop more than rock and metal. Nu metal and butt rock were decently popular in the late 90s and early-mid 2000s, but they eventually lost popularity. Now that rap has gotten stale, country pop is the current thing. Also, metal fragmented into a huge number of subgenres in the 90s, so you don't see new bands reaching the same level of popularity that Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, or Metallica did. The market is just too saturated.

Depressed grunge faggots killed rock, and then Eminem put a bullet in their heads.

It was the expression of much more ambitious times.
It could have only lasted as long as it did.
Today there's no idea of heroism or daring. No point in being a standout individual rebelling against the system. Zoomers are playing it safe, because they can't afford to get on the wrong side of the system (boomers) and never get hired.

Really nobody can afford to be rebellious, everyone's trying to play it safe because there's no sense of security in the future. Rock can't thrive in such a risk-averse cultural environment.

Every year the national news media would pick a slightly catchy piece of music sung by black people and glaze the shit out of it sometimes after the artist sanitized it but sometimes not.
    >Who Let the Dogs Out
    >Let's Get it Started (formally Let's Get Retarded)
    >Crank Dat (obvious sex and domestic violence song promoted to kids)
    >Forget You (formally Fuck You)
Rock bands stopped getting coverage like that as time went on.

bongs commodifying rock and turning it into punk just so they could sell clothes is what really killed rock. you had americans bringing classic rock back in response to progressive rock dominating the scene which they saw as inaccessible and elitist. the bong fashion designer malcom mclaren ripped off one american rock band's style, that they only wore because they were poor, then repacked it as "punk" for bongs and from then rock was dead. the "punk" label destroyed a lot of budding rock bands that couldn't get any play because of the associated degenerate culture associated with punk

White people are the only ones making neo folk and metal. I don't like mainstream music.
    >>

I reckon youtube and spotify etc killed it. Music used to be "of the moment" buying a bands latest LP etc, you had the radio, you and your mates records and that was it. Now people have every piece of music ever made instantly available. So any new bands are competing with the greats - cream, zep, the who, purple, jimi etc

Cold war ended, no longer need for masculine warrior spirit and mass copulation, nihilism and self extinction started being pushed instead, hip hop and rap took over the remnants of confrontation and belligerent attitude, but still nihilistic in the end.
2010s hipsterism was the latest attempt to revive that memory, but in a purely performative form.

All bands in OP were brits, hard rock, metal, goth and all subcultures including punk were brits, the last american contribution to rock was heroine laden grunge, which was trash in comparison with what brits were doing in the 90s.
I think nihilism, in all form including punk was and is west's poison, but the US rock music stopped being musically relevant after the 60s.
