If Burnham had the room in the budget, he'd be paying them all out. But who's he to apologise on behalf of Britain. Its not like we were all slave masters was it. Not like we were all at it. Not like I even benefited from it. So leave me out of the apology

So we're all in agreement society is about to collapse right? Between the worldwide warnings to stockpile from multiple governments, the US military drills and the promise of more attacks on Iran and the Iranian threat to destroy key global infrastructure if they get bombed more its all going to go to shit, to say nothing about unchecked russian expansion across europe affecting the energy and food markets too.

Has anyone else started prepping? I'm stockpiling tinned food and water, plus some stuff like pasta/rice (I know I should prioritise things that don't need water to cook, but a little variety is surely ok). I've ordered an electric generator that takes solar panels or wall power with a 4500w peak, and I have a solar panel on the way so I can at least have a very minimal amount of power available. I only have 100L of water stocked in some plastic jugs atm. Not sure whether to get some new bins to fill with water + plastic lining and a little plasttic outside shed to store them in or not for more water or just order more jugs.
>>
personally I like the old spider man fingering technique. You put your middle and ring finger up and use your little and pointer finger to sort of lock them in for when she starts squirming about the place like a fish out of water. Then when shes frothing that’s when I hit her with the cock tease, get into a missionary position with your bellend just in her hole and you can kiss her neck, they usually grab you by the bum and push you in themselves

A 25%+ increase to energy prices will cripple large sections of the economy and the increases to minimum wage will do nothing to convince companies to not fire people as the cost of everything goes up to cover this. There is no good outlook unless you just plug your ears and pretend its all ok, which you are perfectly entitled to do. Anyway whats the harm in stocking up on food and water? I'm getting long lasting stuff, if I just end up eating and drinking it normally and the apocalypse doesn't happen then great, it shit does go south then I'm prepared and have a caloric safety net.

I tried asking the AI about that ages ago while working on my lottery win goon cave bunker plans.

It wasn't able to provide a very specific answer because there isn't enough publicly available information and the calculations/variables are too complex apparently.

The induced voltages can be in the thousands over a metre length of conductor within a mile or so of it going off apparently.

Wouldn't surprise me if vast amounts of it aren't actually tested or designed to withstand it at all on the basis of

It gives me some reasonable answers, but it can generate different answers for a question worded exactly the same but asked several times.

The gist was there are different types of EMP and how much range and damage they have depends on which is used and how and where it's detonated. A proper HEMP can destroy entire countries, having a range of over a thousand miles.

I think it's better idea to not let AI summarise the information for you and do the research manually.

>Extreme electromagnetic incidents caused by an intentional electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack have the potential to damage significant portions of the nation’s critical infrastructure, including the electrical grid, communications equipment, water and wastewater systems, and transportation modes. The impacts are likely to cascade, initially compromising one or more critical infrastructure sectors, spilling over into additional sectors or geographic regions, and adversely impacting millions of households and businesses.

Overview

>EMPs are associated with intentional attacks using high-altitude nuclear detonations, specialized conventional munitions, or non-nuclear directed energy devices. Effects can range from highly local to regional to continental, depending upon the nature of the incident. High-altitude electromagnetic pulse attacks (HEMP) are of most concern because they may damage or disable large sections of the national electric grid and other critical infrastructure control systems.

>Any electronics system that is not protected against extreme EMP events may be subject to either the direct “shock” of the blast itself or to the damage that is inflicted on the systems and controls upon which they are dependent.

EMP Risk

>Extreme EMP incidents fit into the categorization of “hard problems”—both are low probability/high consequence scenarios that challenge effective policymaking.

>A HEMP attack by an adversary with basic nuclear weapons and missile capabilities may be disruptive on a regional scale but is unlikely to cause catastrophic damage to the U.S. electric grid on a continental scale. Adversaries with highly developed nuclear capabilities might cause widespread harm to U.S. infrastructure with complex HEMP attacks in the context of an escalating international conflict.

When I was 27 years old I was travelling aimlessly around London in a depressive state one Saturday and caught the tube back to where I was renting a room. I was sitting on the tube and a group of friends got on, two guys and three girls. One of the girls sat on my right, another on my right and another opposite with the two guys. I was socially anxious and stared at the floor while rubbing my fingertips together. When I got up to leave at my station the girl on my left quietly said "Bye, I love you!" but I didn't even look at her. She then said "You're cute, you're cute!" and I saw one of the guys look at me in a way that seemed to communicate something like "Uh, wow that's interrupted the conversation a bit" but I just stared coldly ahead at the doors until they opened and then left. I still regret this and feel like shit for not acknowledging her. Maybe she was cute, I will never know. I've missed a few opportunities like that, and now I am too old to be cute or to have random girls show interest in me. It's genuinely painful in a way that will probably cause me to some have some kind of breakdown in the coming years. I've lived a lonely, solitary life of suffering, longing and frustration.

In school and even after university I held the somewhat autistic belief that I could only date a girl who was my age. I'm 35 now and can't imagine dating someone even thirty years old. It seems wrong and I think even if it were to happen somehow I would always feel as though I am predatory or that she will leave me for someone younger. When I was 24 I fell for a girl who was working in the same office building. She was my age, and as a result of some internet searching (something I wouldn't do today, I don't think) I found out she was from a wealthy family, had attended a very expensive private school and a top university. She made an effort to start a conversation with me a couple of times, and one time she and her colleague hosted a bakesale in a room near my desk but I was too scared to even talk to her and didn't buy any baked goods. I feel bad for that. My pattern was to fall for someone, sense they liked me in some way, but then get scared and become cold towards them. It's so pathetic, and the older I get the more I beat myself up for sabotaging my life so much. I felt I had so little to offer her, and that my life was pathetic, and that it was perhaps better to enjoy the idea she thought of me as a high-earner with friends etc rather than the friendless wageslave I was. I feel tired a lot these days, irritable and cynical. I'm more confident today than I was then, which I think is a result of my doing more things that would previously have intimidated me (like travelling alone) but also having come to terms that I'm going to die one day and that this is all a passing experience. I don't try to pathetically please people as much (though it's still something I find myself doing) but I'm also older and more self-assured. If I were to die tomorrow, and was asked if I have enjoyed this life and found it a meaningful, fulfilling experience I would say no. There is a part of me which has ached for love and intimacy since I was a shut-in adolescent.

I spent so much of my life walking aimlessly around alone in a depressive state. It started when I was maybe fourteen attending a rough, poorly-governed school in which academic success was not encouraged. Around that age people my age were becoming more confident, mature, outgoing and I struggled to keep up. I became distanced from my old friends and even the ones I had made from other schools. I became extremely anxious, paranoid and neurotic. There was a time in my adolescence where I struggled to even leave the house alone, and would end up gelling my hair, checking my clothes in the mirror and pacing around feeling too scared to open the front door in case my neighbours saw me and thought I was weird. I attribute a lot of those feelings to my burgeoning sense of self and psychological emergence from childhood, but I was so scared and unhappy. I became an emo during my mid-teens and had the miserable and anti-social temperament which naturally suited that aesthetic, even though there were other emo-type people in my year group who were essentially just slags with metal studded belts and excess mascara. I remember sitting next to my mum and auntie at my grandmother's house listening to screamo on my iPod at full volume with my arms crossed over my stomach as they talked about local gossip. I don't think I remember anyone offering to sit down and have a conversation with me about how I was doing, how school was going, what I wanted to be in the future. I just spent my time alone hating life. There is something there which has never left me.

I turned up at university feeling nervous but certain that my real life was about to begin, that I was about to experience the kind of things that everyone at university experiences, including making friends, having sex, and identifying the career I would later pursue. But I was a pretty pathetic person, especially around girls even if they liked me. I remember during Fresher's week talking to a blonde girl and she told me what books she liked, and I was smiling the entire time and being really nice and inoffensive. I think if you asked most people who have known me in some way what I was like, they would say "nice" or some variation thereof. I remember in an A level class the teacher described each person in the class. A couple of boys were described as a handful or whatever (cue laughter), and she described me as well-mannered. I'm pretty sensitive to being patronised, only because I don't like it when people assume that I am mentally retarded or some kind of eunuch, rightly or wrongly. I remember holding a girl in my arms at the age of 22 during a thunderstorm one morning. It was a nice moment, and she was honestly beautiful and from a wealthy family although somewhat crude and uncomfortably open about the fact she wasn't over her ex who had hit her or whatever. I didn't even have sex with her, because my nervousness trumped my horniness. I wrote a long handwritten letter wishing her well and posted it through her door one night before I moved away from that area, and then passed her as I walking home but looked down and pretended not to see her. I feel as though I was shot at the age of twelve and that the bullet has been ricocheting around my psyche ever since.

There was an attractive blonde girl in my first year of university. I remember meeting her for the first time in a corridor where we had to sit to wait to see a professor who we were expected to meet occasionally for a catch up, and she seemed pretty nervous and essentially kind. I was attracted to her but I had nowhere near enough confidence to express that. I saw her again in a bar when I was out with some guys from my halls, and she had given her mobile to some woman to make a call or something and I think was worried about not getting it back or something. A guy I was out with approached us and said we looked cute together, but I didn't know how to react to that. I think she dropped out of university soon after that because I didn't see her again. This guy was from Birmingham and had a bird's nest type hairstyle and his fashion statement was to wear a shirt with only the top bottom done up, so that it resembled a cape somewhat. He was popular with girls, and during one of our first nights out together I remember talking to a girl from the second year alongside him and he told her how he had taken a girl back to his room but couldn't get it up and the girl was blase and said it happened. I just stood there feeling alien to the conversation. I will admit that I copied his dance moves in an effort to look cool and attract a girl. The dance move involved twisting your feet back and forth without moving and making hand gestures like pointing upwards with both hands alternatively as though shooting pistols, but it never attracted anyone. While drunk I became a bloated, sentimental, greasy-haired weirdo. On another night out with this guy he and I were performing dance moves in front of two girls and I could tell one of them was attracted to the guy but found me a little annoying I think. The next day I was in a supermarket, back to my usual slightly depressed-looking self and saw the girl at the checkout and she kept looking at me but I pretended not to recognise her.

I could never bring myself to see a girl as someone I could have sex with for one night and then not date. It didn't seem right. I just didn't look at women that way and my pining for them was essentially romantic in nature. I remember a couple of times in university a girl showed explicit interest in me in an erotic way, but I just smiled and acted nice until they moved on. Maybe I should have been more open to casual sexual experiences, but I just wasn't. There was one girl who was quite short and had noticeably large breasts. I was drunk and had lost my housemates and she recognised me from lectures and linked arms with me and acted in a kind of playfully nursing manner. She was dressed as a nurse I think because it was some kind of fancy dress night, perhaps even Halloween, but even though she was physically attractive I think I sensed I didn't fancy her or something and didn't consider just having sex, or maybe I was just unconfident and stunted, perhaps both. I think it would probably be nice to spend time in a kitchen with a girl, cooking, listening to music and being playful towards one another, making each other laugh. It probably won't happen at this point. I'm kind of resigned to being a cold, bitter reclusive type who will be forced at around the age of forty to decide whether I can reasonably foresee living that way for the next few decades. I hope that won't be the case, but it seems likely. I'm not a fun person, except in an intimate relationship with someone I trust and feels familiar.

When I was 22/23 I worked in a pub in London, and this forty-something woman who was obviously quite wealthy would come in with her young son to talk to the bar manager, who was a nice guy in his thirties who belonged to a character type I associate with late 90s/early 00s London in that he reminded me somewhat of Jamie Oliver, had lived briefly in Australia, and was a kind of fun-loving but decent guy who likely enjoyed music, surfing. It wouldn't have surprised me if he was from Cornwall. Anyway this woman, who was attractive and fashionable, would always make conversation with me, and ask me personal questions which I appreciated because I was new to the city. Some evening she would be there with one or two other middle-aged people, one of whom I later realised was a television journalist. I was socially retarded and I think a little rude, because I would read a book at one end of the bar until I was called to pull another pint. It was wrong of me and I wouldn't have appreciated it if a barman acted that way. I think she was divorced because she was never there with her husband and never mentioned her kid's father when they were there. I wondered later whether she was attracted to me in some way. It would have been nice to have been a toyboy for a while I guess. I struggled working in that pub, because I had never been to pubs and didn't understand the rules. There were some regulars there who were good to me and helped me change the barrels and so on, without asking for anything in return. I hope they are doing well today, and I am grateful that they went out of their way to help me do my job as best as I was able to. I remember one time I was having trouble with the barrels or something and went upstairs to ask the bar manager for help, and I'm pretty sure he was having sex with his girlfriend judging by the impression I had when he finally appeared and came down to help me.

The number of women having their breasts removed on the NHS because they identify as trans men are surging, figures show.

The health service performed 1,115 of the operations in 2024-25, a 52 per cent increase on the 734 trans mastectomies carried out in 2022-23.

NHS England estimates each procedure costs £5,800 meaning that taxpayers are footing a bill of up to £6.5m a year.
