HL3 has been confirmed to be canceled. They're not going to make another one.
Also, HL: Alyx retconned the HL: EP 2 ending and had Eli Vance be saved from the Combine overseer. Gman said Gordon Freeman wasn't going to be a player anymore and that they're literally replacing Gordon with Alyx as the main character.
If Valve ever makes a Half-Life title again, it will be another VR game and Alyx will now be the 'right womyn in the wrong place.'
