they probably could have taken WAY more. they took just enough to not crash the market, but just the fact that they were able to swipe billions with such ease means that the crypto market SHOULD have collapsed. people stash their coins with places like binance because they feel like their coins are secure there and don't feel comfortable managing their own wallet. but now every fomo normie is going to think twice about throwing their money into what is essentially a funny 'currency' that cannot be used to purchase anything. crypto is officially dead. these attacks will continue until people finally get the message. but the attackers will be smart enough not to take too much at once so they can keep converting their computer money into real money. fucking kids will probably start swiping crypto once the tech gets mainstreamed, but by then even btc will be back to fractions of a penny in value. it's fucking over.
i don't understand why they funnelled it through other exchanges instead of just putting it in cold storage
>>545235246I don't get it, is it possible to store the coins offline? Just transfer the ones which will be used in the short term
>>545235331>just putting it in cold storagewhy would they want to keep coins that they know are worthless? the fact that they can steal them means they are worthless
>>545235797>I don't get it, is it possible to store the coins offline?yea. lots of people do that. they have all their coins stored on a USB stick. it's a fucking risky move though. but the real point is that these things are worth nothing and should be converted to cash as quickly as possible.
