Why is nihilism such a cringe ideology? Especially when fags like this apply it to their worldview while being against virtually every form of government because they impose "unacceptable authority over the individual". If you're a nihilist it's fundamentally contradictory to give a shit about anyone's well-being because because dood moral values and objective truth are meaningless.

>>545221662I think it's ironic in that sense because in comparison to the average person's life during that time period, Nietzsche and Stirner had a pretty stable upbringing. The worst they've had to witness was their loved ones dying of natural causes. For them to end up becoming cynical, detached from reality nihilists that view morality as meaningless while there are millions of men who would die for their God and live a fulfilling life in the name of something just shows how egotistical and self-centered nihilists are.

Their works would never have lasted if it was driven by that sort of pettiness.Its simply that they had lives that let them BE detached from the world, BUT they were committed to scientific thinking and rejected divinity (especially within the religious packaging it was presented to them).The result of this is (very naturally) realizing the futility of the material world, but without the divine to turn to, you're left with... nothing.Its the Light-bringer with no light.
