Is there any beginner foundational stuff you should learn and practice with that prepares you for harder intermediate models? Or do you just attempt random shit from day 1 and fail over and over until things click?

    Yep.

Absolutely. Origami has a pretty learnable foundation, and practicing the right things makes intermediate models dramatically easier.

Can you guys give me some suggestions? I’m struggling a lot with reverse folds for some reason. Like the tail of a carp or head of a crane. Idk what I’m doing wrong, but I have to do it enough times where the correct side of the paper shows through.

Btw is it common to have trouble understanding certain steps in videos or images when making a model for the first time? That seems to be a major hurdle as well.

What makes things more complicated is if I try to say what model, there are like 5 different brachiosaurus dinosaur models and idk who the creator is for the specific one I’m working on.

Just do stuff. You learn how the paper folds under your fingers, how small mistakes grow into bigger problems down the line, the speed the persistence and the dexterity are built no matter what you do. Just go do stuff. You will get better no matter what you practice you just have to practice.
