not the best specimens but i couldn't get out when the weather pattern was the best, so i'll take it

I just ate the first mushrooms I ever gathered myself in the wild today. Honey fungus, growing in big bundles on some old decaying spruce tree stumps. Boiled them for 25 minutes, then fried them for another five minutes and served them in a cream sauce with salt, pepper and some garlic. pretty good. No stomach cramps and no violent diarrhea so far. Seems like I also discovered some bay boletes today, those will be in my frying pan next.

North Texas reporting in I really wish I could harvest mushrooms but the only ones I ever see appear to be either useless or straight up deadly.
