How feasible is spending weeks/months walkthing through countries and hitchhiking in Europe? How should one prepare? I think i'm pretty fit and i enjoy long distance walks. Started juggling this idea of a solo adventure in my mind. I guess it's not very dangerous if you just don't walk through wildressness and have any survival insticts? What would actually be the worst part and what are some challenges i'd face that i might've not thought about?

Well if I was to take a walk through Europe it would be on the new long distance wolf trail

I've been to the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Most of Europe is usually only a stone's throw away from civilization and because there is so little nature left there are very strict with what you can and can't do there. So depending on how much you care about risk or the rules avoiding the wilderness is a requirement since in places like Germany you can't just go out and camp anywhere you'd like, you can kind of get away with it if you're found bivoacking, and forget about starting a fire in Switzerland. Now the alpine areas (Southern Germany, Switzerland and Austria) do offer some remote places but it's not like North America and you need to know what you're doing in the mountains. Norway is totally different you can camp anywhere you want

    perfectly feasible

    lmao

Your biggest issue will be nosy busybody old people calling the police on you. And depending on the country the police will probably be very happy to bother you and make your life difficult. This is assuming you're trying to camp outside. If you're staying in hotels or hostels in cities then you'll have a different kind of problem, which I hope I don't have to explain.

Just how out of touch are you? Do you think it's still the early 2000s?

This. Anybody that sees you outside in nature after sun set will call the police on you. They will just think you are drinking and will become an issue.

Only risk is the 40 million rapefugees. I just spent a few months in Germany and they are in every city, town and village. They dont go hiking though so stay in the woods as much as possible
