I posted this thread on the travel board, but I thought maybe you guys would be able to give me some advice too...So this is gonna sound really stupid and crazy, but I'm so fucking miserable and I just hate my life and I'm so bored all the time just tired of everything. And I'm out of shape, and I'm really stupid and worthless. I can't take care of myself. I'm addicted to self destruction and I want to change so bad. I want to do something really dramatic, something that will shock my whole nervous system into survival mode so I can find God and become the Man I know I can be.Sorry this is really melodramatic and unhinged, I'm kinda cringe. But I want to walk.. like from my house all the way to Alaska. I just want to walk there. I'm broke, I have no car and very little money. But I figure I could just walk there, and start a new life.I know it would be hard. I have about $3000 in savings and I would probably need that mostly for food and stuff along the way. I might have to figure out news ways of making money on the way. I'd need to figure out all kinds of things.What I'm most worried about is freezing to death in my sleep and encountering territorial wild animals somewhere. You'll have to do some research to see what snowfall is normal, what is expected this year, etc. I had friends that lived in Alaska for several years, and I'm probably less than 50 miles from where you live. People really don't understand what Alaska is like, there are very few people but it has more of the opposite effect than they imagine, because there are so few people it's actually HARDER to avoid them since everything tends to be pretty tethered to some kind of local hub and you can't expect to go "disappear" since the norm is for there to be literally actually nobody there and any presence of humans will be obvious. Accordingly, everyone knows everyone like the most gossipy small town you can imagine and all of the localism you'd expect comes with that. Plus, everywhere outside Anchorage and other cities is majority native, and I'm sure the dry cabins in the cheap shitty parts of Anchorage are all natives. It's not that you'll be totally shut out if you come here but the wilderness paradise image people have of the state is pretty off base just like how everyone imagines all of florida to be like key west lol, exactly along similar lines that experience is based in some reality but it's quite expensive to access.
