Have you ever climbed over 17,000 feet?
    >>
    >>2875094
Yeah, I did 6800m a couple of years ago.
    Altitude sickness is a bitch.
    >>
Nah highest ive been is 3000m which is 10 000 feet i think, we did it in 6-7 hours if i remember correctly and my legs were killing me
    >>
    >>2875094
I climbed on top of your mom once.
The doctors said it did permanent damage to me and to never do it again.
    >>
    >>2875094
nope, highest was about 2300 meters. During winter, though, if that counts anything.
    >>
    >>2875094
Most of this board hasn't and will just see the about it Tbh

Unless you're willing to pay thousands of dollars or travel to a third world shithole most people on this website can't even access a mountain that is over 17,000 feet.
    >>
Unfortunately no; however, if I can make a billion dollars super duper quickly, most definitely gonna try to climb Everest.
    >>
    >>2875094
where would you find that many feet?
    >>
    >>2876469
    A battle field.
    >>

as a third worlder i've casually walked upto 4k but apparently shit gets serious after that
want to casually tackle like 5k or 6k with some sticks, shoe spikes, tent and food but people keep bringing up bs about permits, groups, guides and what not tiring honestly

are you messing around down in on the mexican volcanoes? that'd be my guess.

and I've never been that high but i want to. I lived at 10k' for a while so I'm pretty sure with training and acclimation i'd probably be ok to handle 15-16k no problem, but I've only been to 14.5k'

the real lazy ass thing I want to do is go to ladakh and just drive to 19.5 and walk to 20k and head home.

I don't think any peak is really worth risking one's life over and I prefer to be alone, so I don't really fuck around beyond scrambles.

    >>2875094
I've done 4500m and it was easy, but in the US anything considerably higher is annoyingly hard
    >>
    >>2875094
    >climbed
Does it specifically have to be climbing? Because I waked up Tunari - 5023m, 16480 feet.
    >>
    >>2875094
    >sees your axes and ropes
oi you got a loicence for that mountain?
    >>
    >>2875094
Twice. Denali (my team didn't summit), and Annapurna circuit.
I was stronger on Denali but altitude sickness was real both times. I loved both trips but I don't know if I'm physically cut out for high-altitude adventures. I'll probably try one more time at something and if it hits hard again that will be the last of it and I'll stick to stuff around 11000ft.

Basically all of the popular high altitude mountains are thick with red tape, this is primarily because of the amount of traffic they get and it helps govs wrangle all the retards that these things attract.

If you're actually ballsy enough to go alone on whatever route you pick, there are hundreds of 5000m+ mountains in the world where you would either pay nothing, or maybe like a $20 park fee.

is it peaceful dying inside a glacier on a random unnamed mountain
    >>
    >>2876452

scrambled up a random peak near chavin de huantar in peru. dont know the name or actual height, but must have been between 5200-5300m. last ~300m were pretty exhausting, taking a deep breath for every small step. made me not want to go any higher than that. great view though

    >>
    >>2875094
I haven’t even climbed over 2000 feet yet. I hope to advance though.

Went to Everest base camp this April and hiked Kalapattar, 18400ft or so. No diamox or anything, definitely felt woozy and nauseous from the altitude but was proud to have done it with no meds.
    >>
    >>2875094
    most I’ve done is 14,200.
I can get a few hundred feet higher within road tripping distance but anything more than that would require significant travel which I don’t want to do to climb a mountain.
    >>
    >>2876469
    In my gooning folder
    >>
Yes, 19,341 ft. Kilimanjaro is a nice multi-day hike for anyone in decent shape. The Serengeti is nearby, so make it a combo trip.
