Mine is totally underrated. But the water is bad. There are many super accessible /out/ options, yet there are hardly any people. The state is insulted and overlooked, but that's the way I like it.

I live in Texas. Its absolute hell for /out/ because there's so little public land. Also it gets hot as Satan's asshole during the summer.
Probably 4/10. At least what there is to see has a some variety.

Central Michigan sucks because you have to drive like an hour to go anywhere that isn't a tiny state game area or a paved trail with a billion normies on it. But you can't beat the UP, it's just so desolate and lacking in people, I love it.

BC is a beautiful province but the weather is terrible and unironically worse than the prairies, too expensive, and the people are some of the unfriendly and stuck-up on the planet esp. Lower Mainland + Vancouver island.

I live in the prairies and fuck no it isn't. -40C in the winter followed by +35C in the summer is fucking awful. And now we also get a shitton of tornadoes every year.

Yeah I've lived in the prairies and in several places in BC and the prairies are far worse weatherwise.
Weather on the BC coast in spring, summer, and fall is about as good as it gets in Canada.
Unless you're complaining about the winter rain or something, which is still preferable to -40 and whiteout blizzard conditions.

Absolute best state/region on earth for /out/, nothing really compares.

    >Unlimited outdoor potential for any sport.
    >At least 6 climate zones any time of year.
    >Can go surfing, rock climbing, hiking and skiing in the same day with around 2.5 hours drive time.
    >Best MTB trails, hiking, high Sierra, rock climbing, Mountaineering, Surfing, thousands of miles of backcountry dirt roads.
    >free camping everywhere.
    >Solitide everywhere within an hour of major populations even.

    Bulgaria Oblast.
The locals are just so damned nice. homemade fruit moonshine. Live and let live. No one gives a shit if you hunt or fish without a license. Or build a camp in the forest. No one leaves their known areas, meaning there's acres of free to use land, since the equivalent of 'state park cops' don't venture further than 5min from the nearest tavern of their area. gold panning is free to do. weirdly diverse looking scenic spots for such a small country.

Ontario has to be at least a 7 or 8, we have the best part of Lake Superior around Sleeping Giant and Pukaskwa. Bruce Peninsula might be the best part of Huron.

Plus really good paddling routes and I know it's hard to get up there but we have the Hudson's Bay region with subarctic conditions.

are those area codes or mountain heights?
    >>
    Québec
    We have great mountains
    We have ocean
    We have farm land
    We a stable government
We haven't seen war for centuries
    We have amazing lakes
    We have forests
    We have real winters
    We have gorgeous women
    We have great food

If OP thinks Ontario is 6.5, I'd have to give Québec 8/10 because we don't have BC-quality mountains and the ocean is annoying to get to, and is overrun with tourists in summer.

Georgia (US), 6/10. The Appalachians are better than not having mountains at all but everything else is garbage, even the beaches suck since the water is all muddy and gross.

I came back to this thread, not sure if I posted, to find that I posted first. Still happy with how underrated my state is.
A local fishibg YouTuber is slightly famous. People in the comments are asking him where he's fishing and telling him he's blessed to have such good fishing. Meanwhile, most locals who have something to say are usually bitching about the quality of the fishing here. It's hilarious.

    >Freshwater fishing is good in the far east and west
    >Hunting sucks ass, we have a long deer season but there is no public land in the parts where people actually live and what little there is gets so crowded you might as well just write off weekend hunting.
    >Lots of squirrels though
    >Pine savannahs in the east are heavenly places to hike in the cooler months
    >Great coastal parks and barrier islands
    >Appalachia is straight up dog shit for hiking, yeah it's cool outside for parts of the year but the good trails are crowded and there are generally only interesting vistas at the end of trails.
    >Afaik all of our beaches have public access
    >Gets more crowded and expensive every year
    >Doing anything innawoods is fucking miserable from the heat and bugs June through August
    >Winters mild enough outside of the mountains you can do all the innawoods you want

All in all 6.5/10 we're still better than Virginia and South Carolina and Tennessee.

    >South part is overcrowded and dull compared to rest of the continent
Overcrowded sure, but Southern Ontario is seriously underrated. The Niagara River is beautiful, several parts of the Bruce Trail are beautiful (thousand year old Cedars clinging to cliffs are awe inspiring), the waterfalls/trail systems surrounding Hamilton are great and the trails there give me feels that I don't get elsewhere.

oh cool, another anon who's been to woodland caribou. my dad would take me up there on a fishing/canoeing trip every year from the ages of like... 12-15 I think? pretty sure at that time (around the latter half of the 2010s) only a couple hundred people visited yearly. absolutely the best fishing I've ever experienced. found 6.5 to be a ridiculous rating based on that alone
    >>
    >>2873732
having grown up in the north I'd also give it a six. glacial topography can be cool, hunting's alright, fishing's fine. actually the fishing is extremely good if you're a native fish hobbiest as I am (& especially was when I lived there). the other states I've lived in are Montana & fucking Alaska which I'd give like an eight & a ten respectively so it doesn't quite measure up in the end
    >>
    >>2883570
I made it there once in ‘23 and have been trying to organize another trip, but our group has had 4 weddings over the last 3 years and now some births, so organizing a 2 week absence from society is getting harder.
