There's a Norwegian movie that's a little tricky to find although I did watch it on some Russian website that's called "Out of Nature" in English.

It follows along with a guy that takes a weekend trip innawoods in Norway struggling with some internal issues about his current lot in life, relationship, and being a father.

Any Norge bros know where I can watch a HQ version of this?

Last of the Mohicans is pretty great. The siege of Fort William Henry is the best representation of 18th century North American colonial warfare ever put on film imho, and it's horrifying. It's basically equivalent to the Do Lung Bridge scene in Apocalypse NOw

Some episodes of the original MacGyver TV-show worth watching, with more or less heavy /out/ themes:

    - Final approach
    - Family matter
    - Ghost ship
    - Widowmaker
    - Survivors
    - Gold Rush
    - The Invisible Killer

I think it was the Ghost ship-episode where he stuck a hollow metal tube into wet soil to extract water. Always loved that trick.

Not a movie (though its a Kojima game so it sorta is) and people will debate on if its kino, but I'll always be thankful to Kojimbo for starting my /out/ journey. I loved this game, the story, and most importantly, the experience it provided so much that I kept playing it over and over after the credits rolled. Suddenly, the realization hit me of "wait a sec... I could just be doing this, couldn't I?" As a fat shut in that just played games all day I got on the only clothes that would fit and went to the park and walked... and it sucked. But I kept doing it and little by little my body got used to it until it started to feel good. Still haven't played 2 as, in all honesty, I just prefer to be outside doing things than playing games now. Really wish more people that were in my situation could experience this freedom but I've had people legit get livid for suggesting they try something other than playing games all day or even just sharing my experience with getting out of them.

Not that anon, but part of maturing is realizing that some experiences you hold very dear to your heart won't translate to others.
It's very immature/childish to hold a sort of "I like this so you should like this" mindset, you have to evaluate what others will value and what they won't.
Now granted, death stranding I think is pretty easy to tell people to play because it is designed for a large audience, but not all experiences are.
As an example, my favorite game of all time is pathologic 2. Not only do I not recommend it to others, I actively dissuade them from trying it unless I think they are a very specific kind of person. I know that 95% of people wouldn't enjoy it, and that's okay.
Death stranding however is more like outer wilds, where there's some people who won't be able to enjoy it (especially action gamers/people unwilling to value atmosphere or diving into the setting a little), but given they give it a fair shot most people will be able to enjoy it.
    >>
    >>2855134
How is it compared to the book? I assume its only the brother fishing story?
    >>
    >>2882378
I always felt like outer wilds was supremely reddit, tried it a couple of times and couldn't even get past the redditor frog or whatever it was by a bonfire at the start. That being said, I agree to the content of your post.
My favorite game is The Talos Principle and I know why most people wouldn't like it, so I don't even bother recommending it unless asked or if I know someone who could enjoy it. Also that game is also pretty /out/ in a way.

    >I always felt like outer wilds was supremely reddit
That's fine to think that, I get why given that it's fairly appreciated in normie circles, the aesthetic is cutesy and "certain people" will talk a lot about it.
    >couldn't even get past the redditor frog or whatever it was by a bonfire at the start
Then to be fair you didn't even see the initial hook/the whole point of the game kek. But it's also fine to just not like something, that doesn't need justification. What makes it great isn't so much the story as the interaction between the gameplay mechanics (mostly time based) and the themes discussed. I also suspect it hits a lot better if you've ever struggled with feeling like you're stuck, doomed or that you can't change your fate. The theme is very much "inevitability".
    >My favorite game is The Talos Principle
    Supremely patrician taste anon.
