A ford ranger for 10k is absurd i cant imagine paying over that much money for one
    >>
    >>29137454
My question is do people actually buy these overpriced cars on marketplace?
    >>
    >>29137470
    Yes
    >>
    >>29137470
No, that price is not realistic.
2wd rangers sell under $5K all day long
    >>
    >>29137454
Yes when boomers all die. Boomers are a cancer on society and the sooner they all die the better. The youngest boomers are in their mid 60s, 20 more years and most will be dead.
    >>
    >>29137470
yeah some gay retard $300k/yr tech worker who wears carhartt will probably buy it
    >>

    I know what i got
    No tire kickers
    No joy rides

When the average new vehicle purchase is over $50k that's going to make used prices climb too.
Look up what 92-97 F-250 diesels are selling for on bringatrustfund and remember that's about 50-75% the price of an equivalent new super duty.

I dont fucking care you can not sell
An old beat up 300,000 mile used truck for over its original price value

you'll always be a failure btw, it's not their fault that you're an incorrigible fuckup cunt.
no amount of 'day of the pillow' fanfiction will save you from yourself.

The money isn't the same as it was then. You might as well be screaming that a gallon of milk should be a nickel because that's what your grandparents paid.

For 17k you could use 4k on a down payment on used few years old Tacoma, Frontier or Ridgeline and keep the rest for anything else than a dropping 17k on dying truck. Even putting the whole 17k down on a used diesel truck would be a better idea. Buying used shitboxes used to make sense when they were cheap as a down payment for a new car. But now all the used cars have so many miles and so old it would be better to buy a used newer car. I used to buy shitboxes for 500 - 3k years ago but that shit doesn't exist anymore. I remember I bought a crown vic for 1000 that had 60k miles on it, that was a good buy, but now people want 8k for a crown vic that has 240k miles. But for 8k I could use half as down payment buy a used 2025 mazda 3 for 21k with 30k miles.

Imagine the hell of dropping 17k on a 28 year old truck only for the transmission to die, or get new brake lines. Also you would need to buy full insurance now because what if you get whacked after 3 months owning it, only for them to give 3k if that for it. All the benefits of buying a cheap shit boxes are gone.

    >only for the transmission to die, or get new brake lines
Transmission rebuild kit is 200 bucks.
You can replace 100% of the brake lines for about $100.
How.much to replace the digital dash in a new truck when it fails after warranty?

    Try again, boomer

    >once the "me" generation takes over things will get better
Okay buddy, good luck with that.
The real answer is that most of our economic problems stem from not having real money.

you're on a one-way trip to nigger hell.

No, I was struggling to sell a clean ranger with only 180k on it for 5k, it ended up selling for 3, it was a 2003 edge 2wd, it had a clean straight body and clean interior and ran great
    >>
    >>29137454
the whole used car market is just reacting at how awful and overpriced new vehicles are
    >>
    >>29137848
Once the truck was driven off the lot in 1998, it's value dropped to about $5000. With 170k miles on it, it's value in today's dollars is about $5000 if everything still works on it and it's not rusting apart underneath.
Zoomers and millennials are going nuts for "classic" trucks right now though, so that guy will probably get the 17k he's asking for.
    >>

    faggot.

No one is gonna pay 17 grand for that rolling scrap. They are gonna share with his friends to look at crack price
    >>
    >>29139063
I'd say it's value is at 8k on the high end, if it's mint inside. I personally wouldn't pay 8k for a Ranger but people who like them really like them. Not as bad as the Tacoma guys, that pricing is just pants on head retardation despite the fact that they're selling

Well yeah, new ones are 50k and suck at being actual work trucks, who will put a bunch of mudded-up workers in that expensive leather lounge, these old ones have no competition so they can ask whatever they want.
