Whats /o/s opinion on the Mercedes cle 53? I plan on getting a new car and my top 3 choices are the Mercedes, a BMW m4, and the corvette grand sport in that order.

Mercedes has the best luxury but is the slowest of the 3. Still does 60 in less than 4 seconds. If the corvette had adaptive cruise control that would probably be my number 1 but to spend 100k on a car that doesn't have such a basic feature seems ridiculous. Not to mention too many angry poorfags will damage the corvette out of jealousy while ignoring the BMW and Mercedes despite them costing around the same.

Whats your opinion?
>>
it depends

The car will defitently not be white

Cruise control is for women and truck drivers.

>If the corvette had adaptive cruise control that would probably be my number 1
You're a benchracer that will probably only do a full 0-60 twice a year. And you want AWD because you haven't driven sports cars before. Buy an accord. If you drove hard enough for any of these cars you would know exactly what matches your driving style without asking 4chan.
>>
Don't listen to the other retards, they are really salty and pathetic.
It sounds like you're newly into cars though. Firstly, you should test drive them before you spend $70k on them.
Secondly, don't worry about the speed of these cars. All of them have exciting enough power for regular use.
The M4 and CLE53 have backseats, which can be useful in a pinch.
Personally if ACC is a must for you, then I'd get the M4, there's a reason people consider the B58 the gold standard now.
For the sound, cheaper price and maintenance, I'd get the corvette.
>>
buy a miata

shut the fuck up

And that is?

if what you really want is a fast daily, get a RS3 instead. only car you can buy new with a 5 cylinder and that will sound unique and good. don't limit yourself to a coupe, especially not ones already built on sedan platforms like the MB and BMW

New cars suck you can get an EV that does it in 2.8s for the same price
None of the cars you posted have a modicum of soul just get a Tesla and a c5 grand sport
>>
>>29133010
are you retarded?
>>29132924
corvette is cool, m4 is okay, merc is meh
like why do you want the merc? with the m4 you get a proven platform and engine, with the corvette you get a corvette
with the merc you get an amg badge? just get a cle500 or whatever

why not look at the lexus coupe, it seems neat
>>
>>29132924
Honestly I would do a BMW M440i if you can still get one. Get the convertible obviously.

The M cars are crazy performance machines but suck to daily drive.

If you get an M car be sure to get full merino leather.

The Mercedes is cool but your claim that it's more luxurious is dubious. Screens and strip club lighting are not luxurious.

Expect its value to crash, especially once the new C AMG cars come out and get rid of the faggy 4 cylinders

Officially it's 4.2, matching the performance of 20+ year old AMGs (and that's with the AWD/gearing advantage too kek) but it also still doesn't have a V8 so who cares?
>>29133294
Yeah. No engine builder plaque, not a "One man one engine" car, therefore NARAMG. Even worse that it's got some mild-hybrid bullshit strapped to the engine, too, and all that to still make less than 450hp while still weighing almost 4500lbs. This thing is a porker, especially considering it's supposed to be a midsize coupe with an I6.
>>
>>29132924
Any car that is lowered, has a tightened suspension, and low-profile tires is NOT going to feel like a "luxury" car when you drive it on normal roads.

AMG cars seem overpriced for what you're getting. AMG cars are also heavy. I would only consider an AMG car with a V8 or V12.
>>
>muh V8
Inline 6 is so much better.
Better efficiency, same power, better feel, forced induction so it's tuner friendly.

Now that they’ve got the engine/transmission issues sorted out in production models (bmw inline 6, zf), what makes them a money pit as opposed to a Lexus is or any other modern car? My understanding was that this lore was from the mid 2000s and was a way to explain to retards that engine/transmission work is expensive.

I unironically like starship look of Mercs interiors. Cle in convertible would be my choice just for this reason if only I could afford it. +/- 0,5sec to 100 (kilometers) means nothing.

Do something different to your less classy brown brothers and buy a Merc.

>Officially it's 4.2, matching the performance of 20+ year old AMGs (and that's with the AWD/gearing advantage too kek)
how would putting the old amgs on the same tire compound change the comparison?

true
>>
>>29135762
>Now that they’ve got the engine/transmission issues sorted out in production models
they still have a pathetic 80,000 mile crank bearing life because bmw's i6 is cheap and floppy, not a godlike iron block rb or 2j.
the crank whip on a bimmer is specifically engineered to last the length of a typical business lease because that's how the german car industry stays afloat.

bmw could easily make a long-lasting, compact, and even more powerful v6 but then they'd have to compete with mercedes, ford, gm, chrysler and nissan instead of sitting in a "ultimate driving muhsheen" retard corner all by itself.
>>
>>29135845
With the level of experience, knowledge, durability modelling, etc. that all OEMs have these days, any of them could easily make an amazing car that would last 15 20 years, for a fair price (like 30-50K).

But they make $4 more profit per vehicle if they use the cheap plastic oil filter housing, they make $2 more profit by using the cheaper-formulated interior plastic that starts creaking and rattling after a year, they make $0.25 more profit using the cheaper metal with slightly less Zinc, etc.

So they will cut every corner, save $100 per car, and you will have a miserable ownership experience.

I would happily pay $100 more to have the properly built car. Hell, even $1000 more, 10x their profit. But that's still never enough for their corporate greed.
>>
>>29135845
Man, I made that edit like 10, 15 years ago
>>
>>29135860
the thing is bmw would be okay doing this if they didn't try to front an air of "ultimate driving machine" and just made fun sensible cars without jerking off on themselves over it but i've heard bmw's build quality described as "nissan-level engineering used with mercedes-level confidence" and it's true. you're better off in a jap car.
>>
>>29135860
>plastic oil filter housing
is that an issue now? thats been a thing for over 30 years and ive never heard of one breaking on any brand.
There is sensible critique like the crank bearings, and then there is lunatic flat earther tier shit

>Why are you guys so butt hurt about adaptive cruise control?
propably because their first shitbox didnt have it, its when their brain stopped developing.
>>
>>29135916
bmw plastic oil filters were for sure an issue for a while. they may have sorted them out but I'm certain there are more issues to replace it.
>>29134541
very true and hard to avoid. OP if you're serious about buying a new six figure luxury car, the only one I would consider is a ct5-v blackwing. There's a lot I don't like about that car but with a 6.2 v8 and three pedals, it's literally a class of one.
>>
>>29136016
>bmw plastic oil filters were for sure an issue for a while
or whom? retards who cant tighten a lug nut?
>>
>>29136016
They were just as much of an issue as those toyota bottom mounted oil filter housings, plastic too, that required a special tool to drain them.
Or the aluminium variants that seized after a while and cracked the threads off when you tried to undo them.
>>
>>29136016
