Is the short wheelbase and rwd hot hatch as dangerous as top gear made it out to be?

I think you got these as a Chrysler in the US.
>>29132837The RWD sunbeams specifically weren't a thing in the US, yanks got the FWD dodge omni in various flavours of fun.
>>29132834>muh b58 brehvvvv stage two and dat
>>29132842They were Rootes AMC Talbot as you say Dodge all in the space of a few years. I still think of them as Hillman because the Hunter is under that shell.:)
>>29132834no, later top gear made up tons of shit for normies
>>29132834You can wreck FWD car too...
Yes. Especially with that much power and the driver aids off. Short wheelbase will kick the rear out quickly and can't hold as big of angles as longer wheelbases without spinning out. That's why the miata is so squirrely and kicks the rear out but you never see them at drift shows - they can't hold those huge slip angles with the short wheelbase.

>>29134439This.Top gear is lies for boomers and car lifestyle tourists.Chris Harris is the only presenter they have had that can actually drive well, Clarkson, May and Hammond were total ham-fisted retards. Wheelbase is only one factor, weight bias and suspension design has a huge impact. Just look at the difference between 80's 911 and now, the big change was the kinematics of the rear end, wheelbase is still as short as ever.
>>29134439Yes, something that's harder to slide without spinning out takes more skill.Doesn't mean that it isn't more dangerous in general.
>>29132834It's got no LSD and you can easily remap it to 400 bhp with no other modifications. It's also dirt cheap so it's a recipe for disaster.
>>29132835it's a paki car actually
