What does /o/ think about mazda cars, the CX-5 in particular?
Any experiences? Is getting a used one with 200k+ kilometers worth it?
Also the CX-30, is 120hp underpowered for a car that size? Share your thoughts.

I'm considering the cx-50 right now because its the only decent compact suv in the price range with a non-cancerous interior.
    >>
I had a 2008 Mazda6. It was a fantastic commuter. Haven't been able to find a newer one in decent condition - I think nearly all the good ones have been snatched up.

Looking at the modern line-up is frustrating and sad.

New CX-5 has a retarded touch screen only interior. Fuck you, Mazda, I'm not buying it.

CX-50 is actually bretty good in most regards, but overpriced everywhere I look.

CX-70/90 have fucked powertrains, and surprisingly bad storage up front.

Mazda3 is actually appealing in a lot of ways, but ultimately too small for my needs.

CX-30 has too much fugly cladding - and also it's just a bit too small.
    >>
The current CX-50 hybrid is the closest you will ever get to perfection. Powertrain off a Rav4 hybrid, everything else Mazda.
Other than that, the CX-5 is dead to me the moment it went Tesla
    >>
    >>29132013
    what about 2015 diesel models
    >>
The CX 50 and CX 90 are the most compelling products.
Even before the CX 5 became screenslop, I still thought it was ugly

    >CX-50 is actually bretty good in most regards, but overpriced everywhere I look.
if it's overpriced everywhere then it's not overpriced you're just broke and entitled
    >>
    I have a soft spot for the green-colored third-gen Mazda2
    >>
    >>29131994
the mazda3 doesn't need a manual for the turbo like everyone says, it just needs a real suspension, bones and multilink
unfortunately all auto manufacturers are dying from turbo aids and wishies aren't allowed anymore, everything gets struts and you'll fucking like it
    >>
    >>29132065

    >but ultimately too small for my needs.
I don't know what your needs are, but the 3 is anything but small. I have a 2024 sedan and can easily fit 8 foot lengths of lumber with around a foot of room to spare and the trunk closed.
    >>
    >>29131894
Mazders are pretty good. With Honda's widespread head gasket issues these days, Mazda jumped up a spot in brands I'd buy from. In general, the main drawbacks with them are Mazdas are on the smaller end of size in their vehicle class and they don't hold their value as well as Toyota. Besides that, they are good cars for the money.
    >>
    >>29131894
Avoid all mazda diesels. For gasoline try to get 2.5L NA.Turbo version had problems. 2026 version of CX-5 interior looks like dogshit. Older ones are just right. if you keep them maintained they just work.

if you want a minivan get an odysee or sienna. everything else is a cope.
    >>
    >>29132186
My wife and I are tall. Parents who sometimes ride with us are also tall. The back seats would be very uncomfortable for them.
    >>
    >>29132262
    What about the pacifica
    >>
    >>29132274
I can see how rear seat legroom could be an issue, that's fair.
    >>
Unfortunately Mazda doesn't have the money or the passion to go beyond their current strategy of being a better on-paper Honda.
    >>
    >>29132680
Mazda headgaskets aren't blowing in 50k miles like modern Hondas are, so I'd say Mazda is better on more than just paper.
    >>
    >>29132680
Mazda is better on paper Toyota atm
It's like you can buy a Toyota except you can actually buy it the day you walk into the dealership, its below MSRP, you get 0-2% APR, and the interior and ride don't fucking suck complete ass.
    >>
Just test drove the 2026 cx5, 50 and 30 and the seats fucking blow so much ass, if felt like it was trying to rape my butthole. Wtf were they thinking?
    >>
    >>29131894
    I have a 2021 CX-5
    Yes it is underpowered
    It's a nice car though
    >>
2020 mazda 3 sedan or hatchback for new to be family? main problem baby stroller where it going to fit better.
don't want too big car for future wife, because how she's driving my ND miata and already barely squeezes everywhere.
    >>
    >>29133358
I would say the sedan. I have one and while the hatch has slightly more overall cargo space, the sedan's trunk is fucking massive and I can easily fit things that are over 4 feet long without folding down the rear seats.
    >>
    >>29132065
    They good.
    >>
    >>29131894
I have a 2025 CX-5 and I don’t like it, for being a crossover it’s surprisingly small. The back seats really could use a couple of inches in leg room. I can’t stand the nanny features. You can’t use the touch screen (you can turn it off but it’s still gay), the auto brake is way too sensitive, and my biggest one, is I can’t leave my car running and lock it. It’s fucking hot where I live, if I have to go somewhere I wanna keep my car running so it’s not 140 degrees in my car when I get back. Also, the AC sucks ass.

Bought a used 2015 mazder 3 with 60k miles since it was my attainable dream car (yes, I'm poor and 3rd world). After 6 months of use I'm very happy with the purchase. For an econobox the fuel consumption could've been a little better.I see comparisons with Hondas itt, where I live hondas are noticeably more expensive than mazdas on the used market.
    >>
    >>29133855
eastern europe? honda doesnt have dealerships in some countries in the balkans, so even a used civic can be (relatively) expensive. although CRVs are relatively common
    >>
    >>29133859
Poland, to be precise. While searching for a car, civic ix was my second pick but not only was it in general slightly more expensive compared to Mazda 3 I also couldn't find a low mileage civic hatch in my area at all. Maybe the used market situation has changed now.
    >>
    >>29133743
They fixed those complaints with the 2026. It's a good bit bigger now and a lot of the length went towards making the back seats roomier. They also gave it a big ipad touchscreen like every other car has (some aren't happy about this). The only problem with it now is they still haven't released a hybrid version.
    >>
I don't get why they BLACKED the chrome plastic trim around the grille on mazder 3 hatch.
    It looked good desu.
    >>
    >>29133871
Polen is not 3rd world, although in terms of cars the entire EU is 3rd world, so I know what you mean. I am also surprised that mazda 3s are cheaper than Octavias in the new car market even though they look nicer and have a bit more reliable engines.

    >>29133955
They fixed the complaints, but that is now a behemoth of a car comparable to the large CX models. I still think that compared to its external size you don't get enough interior room.
    >>
I miss rotaries and sports cars but most modern Mazdas are built for soccer moms and commuter goyim now, but I literally don't understand why anyone would buy a BMW or something expensive when Mazdas look better and have equivalent interior quality. Test drove a cx-60 a while ago and it was quite nice.
The only reason to spend more is if you want a lot of horsepower in a goybox, which is sort of self-defeating because it'll always be slow and fat.
    >>
    >>29133502
    >>29132065
I drove one as a rental once and it was amazingly fun for a slow shitbox.
    >>
    >>29135645
Agreed, there's barely any need for more than 150 HP for anything that you won't take on track days, and even then it might be enough. Most sports car enthusiasts are just retards who do traffic light pulls and teslas are gonna be the best for that kind of stuff anyway.

i spent a couple of days convincing some family members 80hp is not enough for an "suv" but they dont listen

Would it be retarded to lower a CX-5?

Seems kinda silly to put that much money/effort into an appliance car and you're going to kill to resale value too, so yes.
    >>
    >>29137936

A fucking traffic sign came out of the back of a truck and almost final destinationed me. Can the universe please stop fucking up my car? I feel like that a pillar dent is gonna total it. First wreck was a 4am deer strike almost exactly a year ago
    >>
    >>29135645
In my area 80 is the normal speed most people go on the highway, and lot of people get prissy if you're only going that on the passing lane, so something a bit better at passing would be nice. As a non car guy, it is kind of depressing how imvested the average person has to be in this big fat appliance that mainly exists to make us good golems for shekelberg.
