What's the hardest you've been fucked by a company? For me it was in my first year of driving, I fucked up and did some damages. We had two managers taking care of matters with the drivers essentially, one of them spoke to me and was very insistent that they are NOT going to fire me! I am new and these things happen! So I went into my vacation pretty chilled out despite everything. On my final week I was at the HQ doing some routine paperwork, when the 2nd manager walked in. He was like "Hey! What's up? Everything good?", I was like yeah boss sure just getting ready to go back out there and he nodded and walked out.A while later my dispatcher walks in and asks me if I spoke with the manager. I was like yeah just a couple days ago on the phone. "No, no the other guy". I was like oh yeah he just came by and we shook hands. He was like "Mhm, I see..." and walked out.Couple minutes later manager walks back in and he's like "Hello, so basically you are fired. Here's the papers you should file. Goodbye!".Bro I felt so jewed out. I had a couple days left on my rental and had to spend them frantically looking for a job. Fuck dispatchers.

SOME FUCKIN A-HOLE STOLE MY LOADING STRAPS
>>29129933A big fucking plushie. The fuck does it look like to you dumbass?
did 10+17 hours of driving over the weekend, record was 22+22 hours when two vans broke during my shifts. complained to my boss afterwards about poor planning and asked if we could maybe get a back-up solution ready so next time we're prepared and there would be more replacement vans or drivers, he said if i had an issue i could've just said no. but also there is no way to just not do a tour, cause we'd lose the customer. idk man i just know they won't have my back if i get pulled over by cops, or even worse, get in a fucking wreck. but also driving vans i don't have electronic time records, so whenever i get to 8 hours i just throw out the paper form and start a new one like i just started driving lmao. god bless sprinter vans
>>29129970Dispatchers are scum. There’s a reason they hide behind locked doors and bullet proof glass.
>>29130628Ive wondered how much you all small box and sprinter drivers make given how comically annoying they are on the road
>>29130773min wage and proud of it
>>29130184Source?
>>29130628Hours of service are your responsibility and the company can’t retaliate for you running legal, so the onus is on you to decline.

>>29130628>idk man i just know they won't have my back if i get pulled over by cops, or even worse, get in a fucking wreckUnderstand that no company will ever have your well-being even remotely in mind. They'll use you until you're broken or dead and then move on like you never existed. Further, YOUR clean driving record is YOUR ticket to future earnings and doing shit like you just did jeopardizes that for some dude in an office that goes home every night and will be the first to throw you under the bus for any little problem. Treat a clean record like it's gold because it is. And if it isn't clean rn then start trying to get it that way asap.
>get to work early>leave late anyway because dispatch takes forever
>>29134423There has never been an instant in my career where finishing my job early meant less work after.
is making 100k a year as a truck driver actually ez in america?

>>29135885Comically so, if you choose to make moves in fields where money is made. Generally youre not going to see growth staying put>>29136673Afaik they are extreme seniority shitholes, you may have a good and cozy job 10 years from now but every day before that will come with some heavy downside (overnights, shitty locations, weekend shifts and mandatory overtime etc). As far as im concerned they are the worst of both worlds as you still have a daily commute and you are at the mercy of the 40 other drivers who simply were hired before you
>>29137493Not the guy you responded to, but what fields are you talking about? I take it your doing hazmat based on the image. Just got my class A with tanker, triples and no manual restriction. Any decent companies you could recommend in the midwest? Any places to avoid? Heard people say flatbed was bretty good.
>start 2 hours later than normal because of misscheduled round table>finally start and slipseat partner left me with half a tank of fuel>tire blows on chassis because fucktard NS rail jockeys abuse them because they're fucktarded foreigners and its not NS equipment so who cares lol>have to wait 2 hours for repair in the middle of bastarding nowhereI miss OTR.
>>29129920haha there is a /tfg/ on /trash/ as wellor so i've heard, not that i'd know about it haha
>>29137579I can only speak from my experience, but if you want to get into hazmat tanker (easiest work no argument) then youre gonna want to start at some fuel hauler. They all pay roughly the same, which admittedly is enough to live on however im a greedy fucker, if you have a lot of experience then finding an opening will be the hardest part but if you dont youre gonna want to sign on with a bulk carrier like Schneider or QC etc. They pay like shit but if youre to make those first few years matter a lot to future employers and previous tanker and hazmat experience is good leverage on your side.As for bad companies id say a general rule of thumb is you dont get a choice starting out but in particular you dont want to go with anyone who's got some flavor of "now hiring" on the back or sides of their trailers, especially if its dual language, never once seen a good wage proudly posted for every retard shitskin coward slavic draft dodger and American pavement ape to apply for their revolving door
