oversupply of cheap repos will help bring used prices down, depending on how long/deep that depression we may even see creative destruction amongst manufacturers. If normie shitboxes are cheaper used then fewer normies will buy new. If things get desperate enough someone might try something as crazy as offering an actually good car in effort to boost sales. Currently there aren't any being made because it isn't profitable.

And what of it, given that in both Germany and Poland, 2/3 of all brand-new cars are purchased by companies rather than by individual customers?

no need to fret. your loving government will swoop in (with your tax dollars) and bail out God's chosen creditors plus interest and tip! and that's not even the best part. not only will it cost more than just paying off the bad loans, but the people that couldn't afford their payments, will still be in debt and have to make payments!

    this.
creative destruction cannot occur in a soviet style planned economy, where the state dictates the winners and losers on the basis of political clout and bribes
amusingly, its china, the only nominally communist but also least communist in practice economic power, that is seeing some creative destruction, and the innovation and growth that accompanies it.

The phrase "You'll own nothing and you'll be happy" originated from a 2016 essay by Danish politician Ida Auken published by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Did you know that Xbox wants to introduce a time limit on playing games?

These corporations are becoming downright brazen; they’re looking to usher in a kind of "techno-feudalism"—with mega-corporations owning and controlling everything, and human masses left with no property of their own.

Funny how Twitter itself was unprofitable for nearly all of its existence, but this didn't matter as long as its "growth" dwarfed the debts and the hype money kept coming in. Imagine the dollars you could milk from all these people once the service is properly monetized! That's value right there.
Once the growth stops, someone has to start thinking about actual money, turn those people into dollars so they can be invested into the next cycle. Xbox must be getting to that point now, too.

Probably fucking nothing compared to the cycle AI is in right now, but anyways.

i remember when All Points Bulletin the cops 'n robbers MMO came out back in 2010 or whatever and they introduced hourly billing which promptly killed the game within a month of release. it is now F2P.

For the sake of comparison, I remember how surprised people were when a paid armor skin was introduced for *Oblivion* back in 2006
    (very first DLC).

Fast forward to 2026, and DLC microtransactions in games have become the norm — because gamers are fools who, instead of criticizing and boycotting them, have gradually come to accept them.

It’s only going to get worse...

my brother got a loan for a mustang, only made like the first 3 payments, and has just left it sitting in his garage for like 8 years. the dealership long ago wrote it off and it didnt hurt his credit as much as he thought. he just has a mustang that he got for basically free and that he cant register. im going to try the same thing with one of those bmw supras.

    >oversupply of cheap repos will help bring used prices down
They won't be cheap. They'll be so neglected that paying the dealer will be the first down payment. The second down payment will be to the car when it requires major repairs from neglect.

Right now, it should be a slow sales quarter for 2026, as Q4 is a historically slow time to sell cars, so prices should be going down. They're going up, because the supply of used cars isn't replenishing. People aren't trading in cars frequently so the supply and demand remain at parity, with a combination of high wholesale bids, high list, and a total failure to move a car because people are rejecting the market price for the cars.

fuuuuuuuuck they might have to make a cool car that would be awful

anon this isnt about sales its about defaults on loans. even if the cars had no screens and did le good vroom vroom everyone is still broke and unable to make payments to keep one

Reminder the Great Depression happened with the gold standard
    >>
    >>29138876
The truth is that nobody in their right mind wants to go back to the gold standard because then it just cements US/China's power forever. Retards retending like the US hasn't planned for the rejection of the dollar are retarded, and it's funny to see the yearly "FORT KNOX IS ACTUALLY EMPTY" shilling come and go
