Why is driving and parking so fucked in Australia?

>Parking is $45.75
>Register a car in WA is like $1200 a year
>Cheapest without concession is $699, and a 4 cylinder is $773
>Diesel is $180 for 110L

Australia is less a country and more a confederation of city states. Anyone living outside of the state capitals is effectively under exile, having little in the way of prospects. So, the people are all crammed in to the few major metros, where space is increasingly at a premium. Lack of political foresight means that almost everyone drives, and in order alleviate this congestion you are required to pay for the privilege of transportation.

Just move to the US. Americans like people with Australian accents. You'll do great!

australia is just one really big ponzi scheme. that's all there is to it.
there's been a few anons here over the years that moved to burgerland and they live like a king on more or less the same income, simply because of things like their taxes not also having taxes.

Australian here, I just ride a motorbike
>weather is good enough year round
>parking is free, I can park on the footpath right in front of the shop I want
>rego is cheaper
>fuel costs are a non-issue for most bikes
>filtering is legal

i'm guessing some combination of crocodiles and brown people
>>
>>29127356
Parking my motorbike on the footpath is free.
>>
It costs me $50/y per car in both rego and insurance combined
You are playing the game wrong

Only in the worst city in Australia man. I used to work at Yamaha City (back when Aprilia city existed). Hauling 15 bikes on the foot path every morning whilst about 3000 people walk past was aids, but a fun aids. Dropped a fat fuck Falco once coz the panniers clipped a docile pajeeta on her phone lol.
Also I live in Japan now, motorcycle parking for big bikes is very rare but cheap, 125 mini bikes like Groms are the way to go in the city. I live inna woods tho so rarely need to park.
Car parking in Tokyo is fuckrd but Osaka is about 8-20 bucks for 24 hours in the busy parts.

i love it when people bfake hard for yellow lights they had weeks to get through simply because of a red light camera that wouldn't even have caught them
>>

I do this so I can enjoy being at front of the light instead of getting stuck at back of like for the next set up lights up the road.

Not quite hell yet. Myer centre is dead, Wintergarden dead, Adelaide street dead and full of homeless, Elizabeth street is still alive only because of the people working at the tax office.

What happened to Brisbane? Is Queen Street totally fucked now?
>>
>>29135591
The coof cause everyone to work from home and even with the force back to office it didn't fix the lack of life in the CBD.
Myer has been doing badly for years and left the Myer centre and they tried renaming it to Uptown (No one calls it that).
Queen street is fucked. Back when the last time you went there was probably specially shops only in the city. Well now all those shops are out in the suburbs because the rent was too high and online shopping.
The Luxury area of Queens plaza is doing better than the rest of the mall combined. I think that is only due to tourist and them having the nicer food options.

Brisbane

>When you're dropped in Brisbane, you are surrounded by old unique architecture complemented by the modern fancy skyscrapers piercing into the sky. The streets are lined with shops and restaurants, and above them are office towers and apartment blocks
>40 years ago Brisbane was known as a "big country town", Brisbane was never designed for mass immigration and high density living
>Fortitude Valley is a no go zone, the gay nightclub district of Brisbane, where all strippers whining about guys not tipping them and homeless people everywhere always begging and trying to start fights
>Fortitude Valley station where people are just sleeping on the sidewalk, pissing and shitting, drinking, shooting up drugs (coke, weed, MD, xanax, shrooms)
>Homeless everywhere, loudspeaks with automated voice tell cunts not to ride bikes or vape in the mall
>Most of the houses in logan are rentals that are run-down peices of garbage that the owners can't afford to maintain, yet happy to pass on the high rent to ppl
>New tents cities are popping up across the Brisbane CBD
>No jobs, most people are driving to Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast for work
>St Lucia levelling to build more apartments to enroll even more Chine$e $tudents
>lot of meth heads around George st, especially near the corner for turbot and George near the old hotel
>driving has become complete shit in brisbane, parks and sidewalks have so much litter now aswell
>Surfer's Paradise is Homeless Paradise
>mass immigration hub that the CBD has become
>Rent/mortgages are easily 70%+ of your income for the average joe
>The top of queen street seems to be a magnet for drug effected people screaming at each other
>terrible traffic, floods most of the time , pretty boring suburbs. M1 to get away is choked on most peak hours
>It's poorly planned in that everybody relies on the motorway to get anywhere
>Paddington, Fortitude Valley, Teneriffe, Hamilton, Clayfield, Kalinga, North Lakes, and Redcliffe are completely fucked
