Shit I wish we had freshly paved roads by lightning McQueen and not this third world bullshit, need a 65 sidewall just to not fuck your car up.

Suzuki didn't foresee American testers actively trying to roll them. Generally you try to keep all four wheels on the ground.

Nah. They got burnt by 60 minutes spending 2 1/2 hours trying desperatley to roll the thing and finally doing it by screwing around with the car.

it is though..
More stable on road and much more practical. I had a Gen 3 Jimny before upgrading to the Jimny XL. Loved that little thing to death, but I wouldn’t go back.

Yup, they hold their value pretty well too. Got a dealer offer of $34k for my 2024 XL, which I bought for $41k.

Upgrading to 215's completely transforms the stability and handling, stock ones are pretty comfy for city driving but that's it, i drive daily at twisty mountain roads at 80-90km/h and it feels planted af, no squealing like the stock tires

I still prefer the old model. Although the roof gutter etc. is a cool touch its intentional - the retro is intentional and IMHO any artifice for whatever reason is a problem. Honest styling is better.
>>
>>29123543
It doesn't compromise in any technical way over the previous model, it's better in every way, more powerful, better handling and stability, better traction, more comfort, better soundproofing, and Suzuki has honestly done an amazing job turning what is essentially tractor tech in such a small package into a modern-feeling car.
>>
why did suzuki stopped producing jimny?

They did because they were getting fined due to emissions, but you can still import them from Japan and bypass the fine if you are in a right hand drive country, the rules don't apply for cars registered outside the EU and sold as 'used', even if they have like only 50 miles on the clock.

This could change now that Suzuki has introduced an EV into their lineup, if their fleet average for 2026 passes the requirement they could re-introduce the Jimny.

>>29120062
There would be little to no market for them. They're too small, dangerous and slow for the NA market. These don't look like they're very good off road and if somebody wants a small off road toy they can just buy a UTV.

Nice try Jeep.
>The Suzuki Samurai debuted in the US with a base price of $6,550 and sold roughly 47,000 units in its first year. By the next year sales surged to about 81,000 to 82,000 units, briefly outselling the Jeep Wrangler.

>Annual sales plummeted to roughly 5,000 units by 1989 after Consumer Reports published a controversial review declaring the Samurai "not acceptable" due to perceived rollover risks during sudden maneuvers.

>The 1988 Consumer Reports review of the Suzuki Samurai led to an eight-year legal battle, concluded with a 2004 out-of-court settlement. In the settlement, Consumer Reports clarified that its rollover warnings applied strictly to severe emergency maneuvers rather than routine driving.
>>

Is it a "nice try" if it worked?

Wait, WHAT... omg
>>
>>29127336
It’s literally a keep but smaller and has loads of aftermarket parts.

It is slow and unsafe to a degree, but this probably wouldn’t be a daily for the average American. Just by being minimal and under 30k new this would make waves.

Funny thing is jeep didn’t exact same thing, still a solid axle rig and that’s the biggest complain people have about it, ride quality isn’t as good as Tacoma/frontier, that’s the cost of running solid axles and prioritizing off road ability over on road comfort

Yeah it's an underrated colour for the Jimny, i was driving to the dealership dead-set on getting the jungle green one, but once i saw them next to eachother i changed my mind, it just pops more and you won't get run over by a truck.

I have to say I'd love to have that on my drive. Wife used to have one of the first-gen Vitaras and that little tin can would rattle your brain free on the highway but it was like a mountain goat on the rough stuff - and it would ford rivers with its headlights under water.
I believe the Jimny is now basically its replacement as the Vitara has now moved up-market

is anyone aware of the difference between the standard jimny frame and the santana pickups? I know overall its an easy chassis to work with, but I'm wondering what difference there is between the frames if any. I'd love a samurai but it'd be hard to justify one just as a commuter/winter vehicle
>>
>>29131240
The Jimny's engine is quite civilised, pretty smooth and quiet ride as long as you stay below 60mph, above that the high revs get annoying though.
