Trump will rally in Iowa and Kansas after initially canceling weekend trips before midterms

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has rescheduled weekend campaign rallies in a pair of critical Midwestern states that he had previously canceled, according to a person familiar with the plans.

The Republican president will now visit Iowa and Kansas for back-to-back campaign rallies on Sunday, said the person, who insisted on anonymity to discuss his schedule.

The scheduling whiplash underscored the chaotic and shifting nature of the final days of the midterm campaigns, in which Trump and Republicans are scrambling to retain their majorities in Congress in an election that has turned largely on affordability issues and the president’s favorability. At the start of the month, Trump promised a marathon sprint of his signature rallies to shore up Republican candidates, and he has headlined 25 of them so far in October.

The president on Thursday furiously pushed back at the notion that the initial cancellation of his Kansas rally, which became public as he was returning to Washington from another campaign event in South Carolina, was tied to fatigue or his health. He lashed out at a reporter who asked about canceling the event in Kansas, where GOP Sen. Roger Marshall is running for reelection.

“I’m not going to Kansas because he’s doing very well,” Trump said, seeming to refer to Marshall. The president added that “I feel perfect” and that “I don’t feel I have to go to Kansas.”
    >>
The Republican National Committee initially said in canceling the rallies that Trump would do telerallies instead to reach more voters. But the person familiar with the latest plans said the Iowa and Kansas rallies have been rearranged to accommodate the new telerallies added to Trump’s schedule.

Trump’s initial plans had him in Salina, Kansas, on Saturday and in Dubuque, Iowa, on Sunday. Then the plans shifted so he would instead do a “72-hour sprint” of phone rallies, meant so the president could reach more voters nationwide, according to the RNC.

GOP officials have not released a schedule of the telerallies, which are significantly cheaper than the cost of staging in-person events. The telerallies typically involve the president speaking for about 10 minutes, usually sticking to a script, to hundreds or thousands of people who call in to listen, rather than the 90 minutes of winding remarks he often gives when he appears in person.

Sunday’s rally in Iowa will now be held in Cedar Rapids instead of Dubuque, according to another person familiar with the plans who spoke on the condition of anonymity to share information that was not yet public.

Now, Trump will be holding both the Iowa and Kansas rallies on Sunday. Both states are home to battleground Senate races that will help determine whether Republicans hold onto their majority in the chamber in the midterm elections.

Trump has already traveled to both states this month to boost Marshall in Kansas and Republican Iowa Senate candidate Ashley Hinson, who currently serves in the House.

Vice President JD Vance traveled to KS earlier this week to stump for Marshall and flew to Iowa in September to campaign alongside the party’s House candidates. The vice president’s office had announced that he would head to St. Cloud, MS on Friday to hold a news conference on his anti-fraud efforts, but he was no longer doing so because of a scheduling change, according to a person with knowledge of his plans.
    >>
In an interview with a Kansas City radio station on Friday morning, Trump called Marshall “fantastic” and credited the senator for pushing his administration on policies benefiting Kansas farmers such as expanding tax-free use of red-dyed diesel.

Trump criticized Marshall’s Democratic challenger, Methodist pastor Adam Hamilton, as a “radical” who has “caused turmoil with the church because he’s so liberal.” Hamilton has said that if Jesus were standing before them now, “Roger Marshall would call him ‘woke.’”

The fact that people haven't forgotten he's a pedo with heavy ties to epstein really gets under his skin.

A much loved talking point of the right is that polling is fake leftist propaganda and they only put out real numbers in the final days before the election so they can retroactively claim they were accurate even though they shilled for Democrats for the entire election cycle
Well, it's four days until the election
And polling from the last 48 hours has
-Put Minnesota well outside the margin of error for Democrats despite Republicans claiming it was in play all season
-Put Michigan outside the margin of error for Democrats despite Republicans claiming it was in play all season
-Put the Democrat neck and neck with the Republican in South Carolina
-Put the Democrat firmly in the lead in Kansas despite Republicans claiming it wasn't even a competition and the Republican was a sure win because it's Kansas
I wonder if they still hold to that talking point
Probably not. The great strength of the modern right is abandoning whatever they claim to believe in the second it becomes inconvenient.

    >A much loved talking point of the right is that polling is fake leftist propaganda
Polling has been fake for at least 15 years now.
We'll have to wait and see.
I hope people remember last time Democrats were in power. If not, well there's going to be pain for the people again.

You're triggering esl shill by adhering to reality. He is going to sperg out even harder now

    >I hope people remember last time Democrats were in power. If not, well there's going to be pain for the people again.

People do, which is why, despite the MSM liggeral lies, I am 100% certain that we will maintain power over Congress, fairly, and democratically. Almost no one is stupid enough to vote for communism these days, it's just an extremely vocal minority thats being signal boosted by traitorous media

Pledge here and now to livestream your suicide if that doesn't happen
    >>
    >>1545871
Probably not. Most US voters are too busy working to do anything but go with perceived public opinion.
This is why media billionaires should be regulated.
    >>
    >>1545867
    >I hope people remember last time Democrats were in power.
You mean the time when there wasn't a war in Iran and the president wasn't a pedo rapist raking in billions for himself while his goons were literally killing americans in the streets?
    Yeah they probably remember that.

Looks like we found out why trump actually cancelled the rally.
It's because republican internal polling showed that Kansas was lost.

    >To be fair
No reason to be "fair" with people who believe elections are rigged.

I just don't like orange morons screaming elections are rigged whenever they lose.
    >>
    >>1545915
But they are rigged. This happens in blue areas because they control elections there.
Just because it's legal rigging doesn't mean it's not rigged.
    >>
    >>1545916
So you think they're rigged because Republicans don't get to rig them? What a stupid thing to admit

I actually don't care about the personality or morals of any politician. I care about policy that doesn't make me poor.
Democrats continue to make me poor and cause strife just for the sake of disturbing shit, or on behalf of China, or something.
It makes no sense why anyone paying attention to politics would vote for a Democrat.
    >>
    >>1545960
    Projection.
Except maybe not? It’s similar, but not quite that. Just irony, maybe?
    >>
    >>1545949
The only rigging things are republicans, with their fake investigations and stealing ballots from legal voters.
    >>
    >>1545970
    >15% CPI in 2022
Made me poor. On top of that, the local Demoscummers decided to reassess property values during a time of economic distress and used Biden's infrastructure funds to make ever fucking road impossible to drive with actual obstacles to dodge in the streets.
They let the local natural gas company jack pricing through the roof while they tore up all the streets to run new meters to every house, probably using a good chunk of the infrastructure allocation to do it.
Eat shit you fucking piece of garbage.
