Listen, I don’t hate e-bikes. I have one and ride it sometimes. Shit’s fun in a different way than normal cycling
But what in the -fuck- is up with the frame choices normies make? You’ll see grown men on a medium frame with 20inch wheels. That cannot possibly be comfortable. What is the thought process here?

the typical shipped direct to door ebikes are made of old pit bike frames, which were small so they could be easily transported in the back of a truck without sacrificing space for your full-size dirt bike. that and they're sized for teenagers anyway. this is why they also often sport wide/fat but small diameter tires -- they're actually pretty standard scooter/moped sizes. it's also the reason the batteries and controller boxes are often kinda undersized for the areas they go into. there's supposed to be a 125cc Bootleg Honda in there

styling has changed slightly as gas pit bikes aren't being sold much and there is reason for the manufacturers to retool to make their ebikes marginally less shit to compete on the open market but normies are goycattle and won't believe it's a "good" ebike unless it looks like the ones that already exist.

the new hotness is folding "stealth" ebikes for some reason, which for obvious reasons have to sacrifice frame and wheel size so they can be nominally "portable". a lot of those 20x4 tire ebikes you see are actually folders (they will never be folded)

you can still find full-size ebikes for about the same prices as the stupid looking ones but they're usually 26". fat tire ones are usually 26" because of legacy mountain bike stuff from when fat bikes were a novel concept and 26" was the Hot New Not Yet Standard for mountain biking back in 2010 or whenever every crackhead decided they NEEED fat tires so theyre the most mature fat bike tire size. step-over "city" ebikes are mostly for women and old people so they'll use 26x2 because women and olds can't get onto a 700c and again 26 is fucking everywhere for Big Box BSO reasons. then there's folders which have small wheels for obvious reasons

it's all very retarded and gay but has reasons, just bad ones. luckily for you i am an expert in being retarded and gay

Wow that actually answered my question very thoroughly from a few different angles. Thanks, gay retard!

Typically the type of urban bugmen who buy e-bikes don't have room in thier tiny shared apartments to store a 21 inch frame size bike with 700c wheels and because their neighborhood is so culturally vibrant they can't store it outside

    >could it be a culmnation of market forces and engineering standards combining in a certain way?

    >no. it has to be niggers. it's gotta be the niggers fault

the thought process is "this shit is cheap and will get me around"
and they aren't even wrong, it's an e-bike, they don't have to pedal

If somebody just needs something to sit on and get place to place, I totally understand that and am not shitting on them.
I live in a nice suburb, though, where such financial troubles would rarely be the case and I still see guys on the weird small ones. Gay regard seems to have a good point on the pit bikes for that one.
