    >driver friendliness
and these faggots have the gall to call cylists entitled and the funding for less deadly infrastructure for them as inefficient and "subsidized"
well it's just 10-40% of 'em and it's mostly due to a degree of subhuman sociopathy and a dull and dreary lack of cognitive flexibility and imagination that seems endemic to society writ large but still

    Welcome to the basics of

there's no need to have a meltdown over a single nothingburger rating. you rant about walkability and other garbage on this board and your subreddit every day.

philly is the least friendly city to everyone, even inanimate objects
    >>
    >riding in bike lane, some doordash guy on an e-bike is riding the wrong direction opposite way, both legs dangling off one side, full winter jacket and massive gloves in 78F weather
    >I maneuver into the street to avoid him, easily have enough speed to safely merge into the traffic at the same speed as the cars
    >dodge challenger behind me starts honking and raging, yelling at me to get the fuck out of the road
    >I look back and give him the "pussy eating" sign
    >he rages harder, aggressively passes me and the moves into the bike lane to break check me
    >I easily maneuver around him, give him the pussy eating sign again
    >he pulls up next to me, yells at me to get off the bike so he can "kick my ass"
    >"you won't do shit"
    >work truck behind challenger guy now starts honking because he is slowing traffic by raging at me
    >we get up to a red light, he gets stuck at a line of cars while I go to the front and use the Idaho stop to go through the light

This happened to me in Philly last week

doesn't dismiss the fact and reality that people are two-faced morons.
    >>
    >>2083434
And little does the manlet in the challenger know, that the guy manlet is raging at is armed (probably).
Road rage is dumb. Don't be a dumbo like the challenger guy who is challenged in life.

Walkability is conduicive to building prosperous neighbirhoods and cities witj flourishing social life and small businesses
driveability is an extremely astroturfed mode of mobility analysis that serges the profits of the automotibe industry and has broken most of the possibility for nice cities where you'd e.g. have your children walk and bike to school/etc. in north America
    >le reddit boogeyman
so tired and old that even tje double standard doubled over and died

    >oldest trolleybus system in US and second oldest in the world

you forgot about vibrant cultural enrichment too! for all the nicest cities out there like chicago and new york. if only the car industry didn't secretly conspire to prevent us all from all this by astroturfing something nobody desires or supports, unlike bicycles!

i agree, this board is the prime example of it.

Philly definitely is the ultimate city for a certain type of N-, which is why you can't leave a bike unattended
    >>
    >>2083535
But you can, I do it all the time

ah yes, cant build good cities cause niggers
    of course
    how could i forget

and it isn't as micb a conspiracy at this point as it is simply a deeply engrained delusion about what enables good near, mid and long distance travel for many people at a low cost to them individually and society as a whole
perhaps the early 1950s where they bulldozed near every city centre to make room for cars was the conspiracy
after that it was simply as I already stated obstinate idiocy and lack of the cognitive flexibility that would enable the people involved to envision something different and likely better
niw the milunicipal planners and the fiddly numbers/cad drawing people mistly know about this stuff
it is the political subhuman class like e.g. doug "fat crack addict" ford in ontario and his constituency of retarded boomers that constantly roll back and destroy better designs in plan and practice leaving everyone in a state of limbo

    >perhaps the early 1950s where they bulldozed near every city centre to make room for cars was the conspiracy
I don't understand why it's somehow unfathomable to imagine that downtowns simply became undesirable to do business in, as with any neighborhood in decline. And no, parking minimums had nothing to do with it since that only applied to new development and downtown was exempt anyway.
    >>
    >>2083601
aren't niggers and nigger culture your absolute measures of prosperous social life and wealth, mr urbanite? they're the perfect humans you envision - incapable of existing without a nanny state and fiscally and physically impulsive and irresponsible.
    >it is the political subhuman class like e.g. doug "fat crack addict" ford in ontario and his constituency of retarded boomers
see? anything except niggers and browns are the antichrist because they refuse to be leashed niggercattle.
    >that constantly roll back and destroy better designs
let me guess, they do it by putting on nigger masks and do the killing, stealing and littering in your prosperous urban areas on sundays while nobody's looking.
    >>
    >>2083608
    Meds NOW!!!!!
    >>
    >>2083608
hahaha, the nigger is a godlike edifice in the barren landscape of your psychotic mind
i wont even honor you with a proper response because clearly your are just a stupid half-sapient animal acting on reflexes
    jesus fucking christ
    get a grip faggot

the ultimate /n/ city in the US is New York, and that's an objective fact
    >>
    >>2083605
What kind of absolute shithole mentality would just tear down half the city instead of just cleaning up downtown jfc
    >>
    >>2083768
    amerimutt mentality? see >>2083634
they bulldozed giant swaths of cities for "freeways" but really it was to displace blacks and chinks, occasionaly it*lians
    >>
    >>2083768
    >tear down half the city instead of just cleaning up downtown jfc
They did. The reasons why freeways go into the city cores was because the downtown business interests wanted it...remember, the original idea was for freeways to connect cities to each other, not go into the city core. But it wasn't able to save them. It didn't matter if the freeways went through downtown, went around downtown, or bypassed downtown entirely, they all suffered.

Most of the aerials we have that are "after freeways" show what it looked like by the late 1960s after major social upheaval had happened and years after they went in.

Philly's a nice city, but SEPTA should be so much better than it is.
