The most masculine white from of transport is a handcrafted 2-stroke bicycle.
The fuel crisis and subsequent collapse will separate the wheat from the chaff once and for all.

moped is literally short for MOtorized velociPED and a velociped is just the antiquated name for a bicycle

also i dont see what being autotragic has to do with anything. early scooters used a normal ass clutch and most modern motorcycles have a cvt. being autotragic or not is more a function of age

a better question would be "Does the rear brake go on a lever, or a pedal?" and then coaster brake autists who have attached motors to their bikes become very confused and hopefully die

gas bike kits have one of the weirdest online scenes I've found, it's the typical hobbyist forum thing for sure but a lot of the guys (mainly boomers) are putting thousands into these builds that are fundamentally BSO cruisers and pot metal motors, many of them get way past the point where they could have restored a cool honda cub, or a puch moped or something, or even fabricated something really dope, yet that's almost frowned upon... people who do fabricate stuff with these kits pull off some super sick shit though.
    >>
    >>2082945
never underestimate the power of autism and wanting to relive your youth. These boomers probably had some shitty 2-stroke BSOs growing up to get them to and from school and they just kept wrenching on it and brought it into their adulthood where most normal people would've just let these things sit in their parents' backyard and rust as soon as they moved out. They didn't ride around a Honda Cub when they were 15, so why the fuck would they care now?
    >>
    >>2082946
The ones who did ride around on on cubs and scooters were kids of the boomers like me, my dad taught me the way of the boomer. When I was 4 he put me on a bicycle and at 14 he showed me how to ride a kz650 lol, boomer biker dads are something else, he's always like "I started riding motorcycles at 9, I rebuilt a motor at 11" and "back then there was only gravel roads and no speed laws and we all just rode dirt bikes in the woods while we were all drunk"
    >>
    >>2082945
    it's fun, bro

also unlike normal cycling, these engines come in one of maybe three main models being churned out by bootleggers in chyna (originally being clones of legitimate scooter/light motorbike engines) so parts commonality is very high. their operation is fundamentally very simple so they're easy to modify and diagnose. the physics that make it work are just intuitive enough that you can do benchtop experimentation and easily diagnose the most common failures, but not so wacky that you need precision machining or a graduate degree just to confirm or deny common fuddlore.

it's also plainly obvious that they will never be particularly fast, and pedalling them is a chore, so there tends to be not very much actual competition other than "my bike looks more SICC than your's" and even then that is subjective and half of the fun of these things is slapping it together yourself and making it have some amount of personality despite the core of it, the engine, being the same model (or at least same design, even if made by a different taiwanese child) 99% of the time

    >>
    >>2083130
I think boomers actually like that shit since they grew up doing that, the ones who get triggered are the ones who had a shit childhood or didn't have a dad
Karens get triggered because "that's dangerous/illegal!" And Tylers get triggered because "just ride a motorcycle/drive a car bro, what are you? poor lmao"
