Why do they do this? Happened this Friday

    plane sleepy

As per german media (so limited reliability) the suspicion is that someone put the safety-pin in the wrong hole. The 787 has a virtually useless, safety-pin sized hole on the landing gear right next to the landing gear safety-pin hole for no discernable reason. Plug the pin there and it'll do nothing. This one is so new (delivered less than four months ago) that that trap-hole was supposed to be blocked but... you know... Boeing...

Why did he put it in the wrong hole? Is he gay?
    >>
    >>2075236
    yes it's june after all
    >>
    it's for better aero
    >>
Could a plane be totaled by this?
    >>
    >>2075287
If it weren't brand new it might.
That thing's all carbon-fibre so I'm sure the inspection now needed will be a rather costly one, since that stuff tends to not show this kind of damage to the naked eye.
Judging by how much the wings wobble (and the fact someone on board apparently got hospitalized over this) that was a pretty bad hit to the fuselage.
    >>
Didn't the india plane get baleeted because the weight on wheels sensor was all fucked up and it decided to turn off the engines? Seems to me boeing has a landing gear problem, systemically

    >everyone on the tarmac is brown
    >>
    >>2075325
Same in Canuckistan. Most of them criminals who can't pass the security requirements but given one anyways.

Got a buddy high up in Westjet. They hired a hindu HR guy to do the hiring, within 2 months most, if not all, new hires were brown. They found a way to quickly turf him (I think he was in the country illegally) and put a caucasian in place. It restored the balance, improved productivity and morale.

    We aren't allowed to notice.
    >>
imagine having to write off a dozens of millions dollar plane because of some swapped tiny rod and a nose boop
    >>
    >>2075325
If you ever actually left your basement and even spent all day every day in the burning sun on the tarmac you'd turn brown too.
    >>
    >>2075218
    >someone put the safety-pin in the wrong hole.
No. This has happened before. There was an AD issued to plug that "wrong hole". So, more likely safety pin was never installed.
    >>
    >>2075236
    >Why did he put it in the wrong hole?
New maintenance procedure: Pin in both holes. DP that bitch.
    >>
    >>2076120
    lewd
    >>
    >>2075313
Bet an engineer was working on the hydraulics with the safety pin missing. Nosegear should not retract like that under any normal circumstance. Even with a loss of hydraulic pressure it shouldn’t retract
    >>
    >>2075218
I saw the jetway and I thought a fat American passenger had boarded the plane.
    >>
    >>2077008
Fucking engineers as always. I remember when I was wageslaving as a baggage handler, happily unloading a plane when the engine suddenly started spooling up for a test run right next to me. I ran up to the cockpit and asked them wtf they were doing and they just shrugged and said they "assumed" someone had told the ground crew that the engines would run.

how could we have ever known this would have happened, liberalsisters? Our actions have...consequences?
    >>
    >>2077825
    would

imagine minding your own business inside the plane and suddenly your head hits against the front seat breaking some of your teeth

Looking for her contact lens. But it'll do.
