hey /n/ this is my cat rupert i was thinking about taking him on the bus to see the sights of the city but i couldnt find any rules on it, do you know if can cats go on buses

i have a cat carrier but would he be allowed out to see out the window?
    >>
    >>2056672
I could do the train also but i dont know hmmm
    >>
    >>2056672
    what is his favorite airline
    >>
    >>2056674
he hasn't flown on airplane yet, hes only travelled in a car so thats why i was thinking a train or a bus next
    >>
    >>2056672
Can dogs be on a leash on the bus? If so a cat should be fine too desu
    >>
Cats hate being taken out of their territory travelling is very stressful for them
    >>
    >>2056685
oh maybe i wont do it then hmmm he does seem very cozy sleeping next to me

    >>2056682
    true...

    >would he be allowed out to see out the window?
I brought my cat to the vet like this for years. She would aways meow when she couldn't see outside.

    >>2056685
This but for some trips that become necessary eventually you better get them used to it. Just like with putting them in the carrier in the first place. Some weirdos even like it.
    >>
    >>2056685
I had a cat that would piss, shit, vomit, and drool profusely on 5 minute car rides. You'd have to be a fool to think most cats enjoy getting moved around. Gabapentin is a miracle drug for calming them down when you need to, though.>>2056686

most cats prefer not to be moved out of their comfort zone, they often don't even mind small apartments and the like. But a few cats do like going places, especially if they have been trained since they were smol to go out like on a leash. Some people walk their cats like dogs. All depends on the cat.

OP maybe first try to put Rupert on a leash and walk him around the neighborhood. If he's fine with that you can move on to longer trips and take him on the bus.
    >>
    >>2056672
Can't you put him on a leash and have him sit on your lap? I don't know how this could be a problem.
    >>
    >>2056690
ill make sure he can see outside

    >>2056721
he already has a cat box so that will be better than a leash
    >>
    >>2056672
OP you don't deserve to own cats at all and neither does anyone who thinks keeping them indoors all the time only to let them out on leashes and fucking bus journeys of all things is a good idea. It's crazy how ignorant you can be of their psychology and what they find distressing. Everyone ITT condoning this is as ignorant as you and I feel sorry for your cat if that's the life you ignorantly subject it to
    >>2056698
And just when I thought I'd seen the worst of bad pet ownership someone recommends drugging them. You all ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Thank god cats actually enjoy their fulfilled lives where I live, what an awful thread

Holy shit, they are airline pilots?!?
    >>
    >>2056672
Why not just take him on your bike?
    >>
    >>2057259
Just chain them to the radiator so they can't get in trouble. Like Christina Ricci in cat form.

how do people take cats out like this
aren't they worried that the cat will panic and fuck off in a random location never to be seen again
    >>
    >>2065597
They do, but you don't see pics or videos of the ones who do because the owners are embarrassed
    >>
    >>2056672
    Sex with this creature.

    He should stay home.
    >>
    >>2071627
Eh some cats are fine with it especially when they're young or if they're accustomed. When my cat was smol I used to take her to the park on a leash and she didn't mind much
    >>
    >>2071626
The only reason anyone went to see it was because it was christina ricci as a nympho getting chained up by a large black man
    >>
    >>2077182
There is LITERALLY nothing wrong with 26 year old chrstina ricci in a basement wearing only panties and a heavy cast iron chain while a black man in a wifebeater who is old enough to be her dad tells her she can't have her clothes until she embraces jesus and they have a deep spiritual bonding session about sin
    >>
    >>2079056
apparently she was quite unhappy with the way they marketed it
    >>
    >>2056672
    I love you Rupert!
    >>
    >>2056672
Hey anon, cat owner here. Good you have a cat carrier, but has your cat been outside before? If not, it could be very stressful. I’d recommend taking him out for short trips for a while, then moving to longer trips before the tour. Hope Rupert can see your city soon.
P.s. I’d imagine cats are allowed on buses
