I've had this suspicion for a long time that the 90% are actually following the passionate 10% of a fanbase more than people realize.
Take Star Wars for example, do you think it would have been even 1/10th as popular if it weren't for the massive legions of nerds who idolized it?
But then some CEO comes along and says they want to "appeal to a larger audience" but that larger audience is following the smaller dedicated fanbase. So they alienate their hardcore fans, which causes the "larger audience" to lose interest too, because there's no longer any passion there.

I don't think they'll ever figure it out, they just look at a chart and say "duhhh larger audience = more money" and then wonder why they keep turning massive cash cow IPs into garbage that nobody wants anymore.

Or Fallout. The first game was a decent RPG (despite everything) which was largely linear but gave you options such as whether to go roughly clockwise or roughly anticlockwise and how you wanted to do quests. It got a bunch of nerd fans and worked as a decent IP for ages trading off the original game. Then a retard corpo made 76 and the TV show and the nerds and everyone else lost interest.

Have any of you even bothered to check out any of what we have so far? Some character songs + art. I would say so far, so good. The defining factor will be how woke will it be (the height of the "woke" for G5 was Zipp technically being "agender" although this never actually was brought up in the show, and the vitiligo zigger from the comics.) If they go full woke it's literally over. If there is little to no woke and they make it aimed more for older kids and not babies we may have a very decent show. The 9-minute, biweekly, YouTube-only format is a red flag, but the content we do have, limited as it may be so far, looks good.

If you hated G5 in its entirety you won't like G6. You aren't an MLP fan, you're a FIM fan. You like FIM. You don't like the franchise as a whole.
