>WTF is Who Dun It?
From the wad's .TXT:
WhoDunIt is a custom gamemode for Zandronum that rewards the observant, and punishes the clumsy.

The game starts with all the players spawning in various locales, armed with little but their fists and an array of melee weapons scattered around the levels. After a short while, one player is chosen as the Murderer. The Murderer's goal is simple: Murder everyone. His preferred method to deliver death? A sliver of metal between the vertebrae.

The Murderer has to be cautious, though! For while the knife is the most efficient and satisfying method of taking out others, drawing it is very loud and visually obvious; Marking him as the largest threat in the room, usually ending with him in a corner getting his skull bashed in by 'The Innocents'.

To make matters worse, all these deaths have left the Murderer with a constantly draining sanity, eventually losing it and committing suicide when unable to watch something squirm and die.

Fortunately, the trademarked knife he carries isn't the only weapon at his disposal; Poisonous chlorine gas, remote cameras, smoke bombs, poisoned first-aid kits, and even Automated trip-wire shotguns allow The Murderer to manipulate and destroy his prey.

But what happens when The Murderer blends in a little too well? What happens if somebody loses it and kills someone completely innocent? Two mistakes. That's all you get before you are removed from the game instantly. After an Innocent kills one Innocent, he is marked with a Yellow Aura, enabling other players to beat him to within an inch of his life before being allowed to venture with the others. Another mistake? You won't be heard from again...

Worse still, The Murderer has a penchant for being able to find the careless, regardless of their location.

anyone play wow classic? I havent played much this year but id like to get back into it.

>>43655458
starting!

>>43655512
I have been trying to get into it and wrote a guide for setting 1.27b up but now i realize i should've done it for 1.26a since it's the most played classic version between 1.26a 1.27b and 1.28.5 because it's the preferred version to play Dota 1 and i think there's a map size limit removal patch by the community (i'm not talking about the 1.27b limit increase from 8mb to 128mb).

>>43655313
Looks cool but
>Duel
Only duel? If it's a class shooter and there's no map pickups you could also implement team last mare standing. It could be played in a competitive setting on duel maps at low player counts like 3vs3.

It's not just dueling - theres 2v2, TDM, FFA and Juggernaut (Versus Saxton Hale but with Pinkamena instead of Saxton)
But 3v3 is a good idea though.
And there are map pickups, health armor and quad damage, I just had them disabled on this match.

btw are you planning to make a thread for it? You should, it's really good!
So many little details, it's more ambitious than I expected, ngl
I hope others appreciate it enough
I'll be waiting 30 minutes in quick match (unranked) 1v1

>>43656429
I'm hesitant on making a thread, I didn't wanna come off as advertising or attention seeking..

>>43656429
waiting in unranked 1v1 as well,
also ill make a thread tomorrow after work

>>43656434
I understand that feeling, but believe me, if you want anons to give a shit, you have to do your part too, even if it feels like shilling
Check out the Home Equestria guy, a big part of the board knows about his work because he made a thread for it instead of posting here or in the pony vidya dev thread
Also, a couple of short showcase videos always help!

>>43656464
It finds a match and tries to connect, but it never actually does
It's probably because I'm argie and have third-worlder internet, so I don't think it's an issue with the game itself

>>43656481
Yeah getting the same issue, looking into it
The game is trying to put us in the match but its not working

>>43656319
the new game modes were fun! also prop hunt is always a good time lol

>>43656270
GG.
I've been playing with bots and duels play a lot like metroid prime hunters (DS) because most of the maps are small and open and the most contested items are health-related fast respawning pickups. Also the map pools should be organized by gamemodes since duel maps are usually smaller than deathmatch maps but let the players still play duel maps on deathmatch.
>Balancing
I think Applejack and Celestia are pretty broken but i haven't played against real players yet. The ammo limits don't really have a downside and you can just keep spamming Applejack's primary fire for example. Her projectile is incredibly good. Does great dmg, bounces, has gravity and radius dmg.
>Skills
I don't understand what some of the skills do (Vinyl bot made me very confused) but they look nice. If you haven't decided to go with a specific control scheme, i think the weps could have synthfires like pressing mouseleft while holding mouseright will do something different or pressing mouseright while holding mouseleft etc. You could also do the same with the jump key + specific attack key like holding jump while shooting this missile will throw it under your feet and make vertical rocket jumps easier.
>Ultimates
I'm not a big fan of ultimates, i'd rather have the button be a different skill and maybe keep some characters skills as a snowball skill that can only be used later/can't be used on the start of the match if you want something the same behavior as ultimate. Snowball mechanics are harder to balance without making it feel underwhelming/overwhelming and having to balance all the characters over their ultimates might limit what you can do to balance the game.
>BHOP
I think it's neat but it's counter-intuitive for new players and balance-wise for a hero shooter with this many heros i think it should be limited or removed because it would make balancing the game harder. With bhop, for example, you can't just adjust the class base movespeed (at the cost of health for example) and jump height freely when balancing because bhops might make a fast character even faster or just won't help slower classes that much unless you tweak the airstrafe accel values for these classes in specific, but then the players will prefer bhopping over running with these slower classes.
>Class-shooter
I think most of the inspiration comes from TF2 and Overwatch but these are objective shooters with very grounded themes so the classes kits aren't super diverse because they shouldn't break the objective or need to follow a thematic (E.g. most TF2 weps are based on real life guns). If you want inspiration for creating new classes toolkits or reworking the existing ones i strongly recommend taking a look at mm8bdm cbm gondola patch and mm8bdm v-classes. cbm gondola patch has the most creative takes on movekits i've seen in a class shooter and they have more than 120 different classes.

>>43659815
From itch.io i mean. Force of habit. I'm not a big fan of the "Reaction" key. The game has too many niche keys for one or two actions and i feel like it could be replaced with just pressing jump again to wallkick for example.

Anyone interested in a 1v1 on UT2004 today in an hour and a half? 8pm UTC
I added a new gametype designed for 1v1 duels to the /mlp/ server, although if a third person joins, they'll have to voluntarily spectate (I don't feel like changing the player limit just for today, if more than two people show up, they're more than welcome, and we can play something else)

Are there any mlp related five nights at Frickbear’s mods? I know skin mods are possible for both animatronics and guards

>>43660827
Alright i'll join for a bit.
>voluntarily spectate
>changing the player limit just for today
Shouldn't the 1on1 gamemode have a waitlist where everyone else spectates until it's their time to play taking the place of the loser?

>>43660894
of course, but I'm not the one who made the gametype. I'll contact him and pass along that feedback.
Hopefully, he'll take it into consideration for future updates.
It's designed to provide a better HUD for 1v1 servers (so it's not just vanilla TDM or DM), rather than being a gametype for a server that plays a bit of everything
What you're suggesting would be cool, imagine configuring it so that each round is a 1 kill match, the winner stays on, and everyone else in a waiting room, with weapons, armor, etc. reset at the start of every round.
Small map, 30sec rounds and it can be fun with +2 players

>1kill match
That's too quick. I was thinking more along the lines of something like a set fraglimit an timelimit svars like for e.g. 7 maxfrags, 5mins timelimit and it goes to the next map if the fraglimit is achieved or the time runs out and then the next in line joins in place of the loser. Playing the same map can get stale and shouldn't be the default setting for a pub server. Let the players vote for to change to the map they want if possible, including the last played map. Also, i think you should disable a few vote options that lets the player mess with the server config like the playerlimit, timelimit, pointlimit etc. Keep votekick, force spec, change map and things like that enabled.

>>43660942
>That's too quick
Yeah, but I was thinking of a single match, and therefore a single map, with, say, a 15–20 minute time limit
The idea is to have a situation where you've got quite a few players and want everyone to get to play more than once, while eliminating the slow pace of a vanilla duel
That way, you keep some of the fun of a 1v1, but make it extremely frantic, where the decisions you make in the first 5 seconds determine whether the round ends almost as quickly as it began
It wouldn't be a traditional 1v1, of course, it's more about solving the problem of having lots of players stuck on an endless waitlist and making sure everyone gets to play at least a couple of times, while rewarding the winner and keeping it 1v1
It's less competitive and more of a party mode, that's for sure.
Also, I said 1 kill, but you could use the same system and raise the limit to 3, 5, or whatever you want
>Playing the same map can get stale
In the scenario I described, even within a single match, you'd still spend more time spectating than playing, so you'd never have time to get tired of the map
Once the match ends, the server simply switches to the next map, just like in any other gametype
>to the next map if the fraglimit is achieved or the time runs out and then the next in line joins in place of the loser
The thing is, I don't think the game can keep track of which players were playing in the previous match and which ones were on the waitlist, so I don't think it'd really be configurable
>i think you should disable a few vote options that lets the player mess with the server config like the playerlimit, timelimit, pointlimit etc
I'll take a look at it
I know there are some of those things I can't disable through WebAdmin, that's for sure

Well, I got a Rune server up and running with the skins working... My Little Rune soon!
The modpack currently has 15 skins, with 2 versions of each character (the Mane 6 + Vinyl), except AJ who has 3
Yes, it's as basic as vanilla skins with an EQG head
I found a list of custom skins that could help add more variety (replacing the head, yes), and I'm also looking into adding skins for Starlight, Sunset, and Anon
But ngl, before making those I'd like to know if it'll actually be worth the effort in case nobody ends up liking the game that much (it's good, I swear!)

Warcraft 3 anon here.
I decided to give Game Ranger a try and look into the free method for playing, so that anons here can play for free.
I have Game Ranger setup--the only problem is I do need that anon who made the free guide below to come back and help with re-arranging the current maps (PONE Empire Wars 3.0 + PONE Mini Empires 2.4) to work on the older version.
I am sorry that I didn't communicate better back then. I was kind of busy with setting up the Reforged community and balancing those maps.
