    I mean it works on every level. Probably the biggest factor in it's popularity is just that they spend a lot of time interacting in the show with lots of Twilight + Pinkie specific episodes, which is a big reason for general shipping crowds to latch onto something, but this is a pairing which actually works.
    >Pinkie is the one that goes out of her way to teach Twilight friendship. She makes a lot of time for Twilight and Twilight puts in a lot of work to try to understand.

    Watch Luna Eclipsed for a good example of their interactions. Twilight/Pinkie interactions are pretty much all one of them gets the solution but doesn't do the working out and the other one covers. The big difference is direct interaction between the two, where they put in heroic amounts of work to reach each other. Twilight is like the only non-family non-princess character to get Pinkie, and Pinkie is like the only non-princess character to lead Twilight.
