    It wont work. I already tried. It just creates a paradox. You can't go back to prevent the very event that motivated you to travel back in the first place. If you go back and successfully prevent the event, you erase the reason you went back. Without that event happening, you have no memory of it, no reason to change it, and therefore never travel back in time. But if you never travel back to prevent it, the event happens anyway, giving you a reason to go back and stop it all over again.
