This is not a good show. It does not deserve a second thread.

    >Dandi Ace is a clear nod to Zambo Ace
    >Zambo Ace's vehicle form actually looks like a funky jet, helped by its rather simple shape
    >Dandi Ace's vehicle form is just it laying down because the design is too messy and complex to represent something resembling a car

More and more reports about QC issues for the Gattai fig are coming in, with the biggest issues being the ratchet joint of Magna Titan's shoulder getting stuck/breaking, losing its ratcheting function, and the instructions being unclear that you can only turn the unicorn's body in one direction while doing it in the other may result in internal damage.
    >>
    >>24057468
cray more, it's better than the haremslop known as Vertex Force

Ignoring the actual show, I do like the OP song...who else?
    >>
    >>24057865
Since you specifically mentioned the song, yeah I liked it. Takanori still got it even in his late 50s.
The animation though, it's just sad. Anime from 20 years ago looked much better.

Did they completely fuck up the scale here?
Just compare them to the windows on the building they're standing on.

Ironic. Now GSC will have to create real Aposdolls and attack Japan to make people want to buy it despite these issues.

IIRC, one of the Da-Garn and Dynazenon figs have issues with the hip joints and the joints on the arms of Bravern's thrusters was redesigned compared to the promo shots and actually made WORSE. Instead of two screwed together halves it's now a fully moulded peg/hole connection but the problem is that the peg inside is too thick and the stress rips apart the socket, kinda like with a Lego minifig hand that creates cracks in the arms over time when rotated and left in that position.

I thought this episode was...actually good. Pacing wasn't perfect, but the Suruga antics actually helped since he is a much more dynamic character than Gekiha. Him serving as a foil could help going forward.

Not a high bar to clear, but this is so far my favorite episode
    >>
    >>24060983
It was definitely an improvement and the black and white bit made for a more unique situation and it helped that Gekiha was a bit more proactive but I still just don't care. I really wish we'd get more focus on the toy makers and that it was better integrated. Cuz right now it all just feels like a bunch of random asides to pad out the air time.
    >>
    >>24061050
That is the thing, one out of four episodes being good isn't gonna improve the slow start on its own. Hopefully it can recover.

I do get what you mean though, about the toy company stuff feeling disconnected, even if they are run by Gekiha's family. Them being two different plots isn't helping, even if I like the woman and Gekiha's dad being taken advantage of by the villains are fine on their own.
    >>
I thought this thing aired on Saturday.
This episode was much better and what I would expect from the show. Good comedy too.
    >>24061050
It doesn't feel that disconnected to me, just a little slow on that front.
    >>
    >>24061050
Absolutely nothing is connected in this shit.
1/3rd of the episodes down and the protag hasn't even interacted with the organization that's sending out his fucking robot.
hat's happening after the battle? Does he just leave it there and go home, hoping that someone is going to pick it up?
    >>
    >>24061308
You'd think there'd at least be a gratuitous scene of exposition where they lore dump what went down 20 years ago.

They wanted normalfags who don't watch mecha anime.
    >>
    >>24061368
Thats because you're supposed to read the prequel manga staring Gekiha's uncle for that.

Blonde company girl is even in it as an operator and his GF.
    >>
    >>24061513
That's stupid though. Even if the uncle has that material it's still weird that Gekiha is so detached from everything.

I think I've put a finger on what really bugs me about this show. It's that all the robot and adventure stuff really does feel like it's tacked onto the last few minutes of each episode. That by itself isn't so uncommon, you generally want to end the episode on the fight but it kind of feels like it only even remembers it is a robot anime at all in those last few minutes. Normally you'd at least introduce the weird phenomena early on and watch the characters deal with that but they just basically introduce the plot and threat in the same couple minutes you have to fight it off and it's I HAVE GOOD MEMORY'D away.
    >>
This show reminded me that Inoue was the main writer for a vidya at one point as well, though I don't rightly remember much aside from the MC starting as an entertaining douchbag

It's quite bizarre how a show about shilling giant robots doesn't really seem to actually care about the robot parts and the whole thing has this
    >"How can we do this as cheaply and basic as possible and how can we avoid doing or showing this and that?"
aura around it, as if the Chargeman Ken staff is working on it and wants to go to the beach again.
Like, take the scene from the recent ep where Blandy Blandface's uncle talks to Rival McDoofus: in one moment he's summoning Gold Lios and in the next he's suddenly already in the cockpit - no scene of him entering it or even some fucking off-screen sound effects while Yusaku tells him that he can't summon it here.
Hell, we don't even know how they enter Dandivine, either, since they can't be arsed with such intricacies and I wouldn't be surprised if the staff and designers don't even know how since they don't seem to care for the shit they're trying to shill.
Yeah, I know, this sounds incredibly pedantic but Dandivine is so ineptly made that even the lack of something as mundane as that becomes jarring.

Any decent porn yet? Thats literally the only lifeline this franchise has

    >How can we do this as cheaply and basic as possible
Well if you just looked at the credits full of outsourced staff, it's obvious what's going on. The anime is entirely carried by inoue.
I can't believe /a/ called me obnoxious when I pointed out how badly produced this show is.
I was just done rewatching cyber formula and I noticed dandivine avoids showing the cockpits and mostly stuck to the pilot's face kek.

It's the way a lot of little things add up. It doesn't quite need the overlong elaborate suit up scenes of yesteryear but it's not like they're adverse to skipping launch and combination sequences so I don't think showing him use a door would be too much.

    >>24063230
    >I was just done rewatching cyber formula and I noticed dandivine avoids showing the cockpits and mostly stuck to the pilot's face kek.
Yeah there's no external or perspective view. It doesn't feel like there's a strong continuity of events and sequences. There's no sense of what and where everything is. It kind of looks like a really low budget tokusatsu almost.
    >>
    >>24063216
    >It's quite bizarre how a show about shilling giant robots doesn't really seem to actually care about the robot parts

Well, this part is basically normal for Inoue. A lot of his toku starting from the 00s was the same way, with the actual "toku" parts only coming up near the end of episodes.

But, yeah, this adds up here because the director is plain bad and just can't make even the robot parts look cool. Even the opening looks really mediocre.
    >>
It doesn't even feel like there's been much of a reaction from any citizenry. There's a few gags of them reacting to the weird stuff but nobody's hauling ass to get to a shelter, get out of the way of the monsters or even just standing around spectating. You ever drive past a car crash and not see a bunch of gawkers? This is part of why the wrestling ring feels so hollow. Especially when you have people wanting to hype up DanDevine to sell toys. You need someone in a helicopter excitedly providing commentary. Crowd shots reacting. Stuff like that to make the fights feel less dull.
    >>
    >>24063255
    >Well, this part is basically normal for Inoue. A lot of his toku starting from the 00s was the same way, with the actual "toku" parts only coming up near the end of episodes.
It goes beyond being an Inoueism in this show though. Even though Inoue himself has never really cared too much about shilling the toys in the toy commercials he writes for there was usually at least a bit of effort most of the time, and you also had the rest of the staff involved who did actually care about and were invested in that aspect; they would often be shown off in super cool ways, like with Faiz Axel (which had quite a few cool showings iirc, not the least of which being THAT scene that everyone remembers).

Maybe it's the translation and/or I'm getting the wrong impression but the guy who was in charge of the sample model doesn't sound too enthusiastic about it, either, in that polite Japanese "this is dogshit but I just call it "interesting" and "surprising" instead" kind of way.
    >>
    >Toy- bad
    >Model- not good
    >People in Japan are starting canceling their per-orders as the show is lackluster and the products (the toys are not good enough)

I know robot shows and merchandising come hand in hand since the dawn of time
But you would think adults would have enough impulse control or wisdom to know not to buys stuff from story that isn't over yet and might find it bad by the end?

    >>

It's the exact same kinda thing that shows like Dynazenon did. Better late than never that people are finally getting around to realizing this type of storytelling sucks
    >>
    >>24063656
Isn't this supposed to be the first show for GSC's own series?
Wonder why everything surrounding this show feels so cheap then.
    >>
    >>24063711
Not really? And even beyond that Dynazenon was actually competently made and pretty good in most regards, the antagonists generally being kind of half baked aside.
