How's that new Five Star Stories localization going so far, /m/?
>>24053700yup, gotta kill myself
Vol 3 is delayed to fucking July? What the fuck Titan
>>24053700>>24053875It took Titan about two years to finally start shipping the Conan omnibuses. They kept on getting pushed back and back and back. And on the first of those, they basically didn't have to do anything but prune a bit of material Marvel still owned. Basically though this situation is dog ass, it does keep with the companies history of dog assery.
>>24053937>It took Titan about two years to finally start shipping the Conan omnibuses.Oh god, that wait was torture. Upshot is once they started putting them out they were on a roll.
But is the translation better than the old one?
>>24054039Unfortunately, we don't know yet because Titan never provided sample pages of their FSS localization. Mamoru Nagano is too much of a luddite to allow anyone but the French to make an official Digital edition of the manga. Go Nagai is about as bad when it comes to denying his manga digital distribution. At least Uncle Go allows his legacy titles digitally distributed through some obscure Japanese online platform, and EXCLUSIVELY through said obscure Japanese online platform.
>>24053989They're finally cranking out material Marvel never got close to touching. Soon they'll only have the Dark Horse era.Fuck Marvel was one Epic away from completing Dark Horse.Anyway, if they stay on this roll I hope they can work out a deal to knock out Red Sonja. I think that would be one omni, and god damn Dynamite isn't going to do it themselves. All these years and they still haven't done about half of it.
>>24054192Nagai is dead, retard.
>>24054624What are you even talking about? He's even working on a new manga that had a pilot chapter released a while back and will start serialization soon.
>>24054623>Fuck Marvel was one Epic away from completing Dark Horse.I really wish I picked up more of those when they were coming out. The second hand prices got so out of hand it was cheaper to just buy all the single issues. By a lot.
>>24054634WHATswear to god this nigga died like 2 years ago and I distinctly remember the news saying Dynamic Pro would continue on without him
>>24054640>>24054634The timeline is being repaired
>>24054640You're an idiot
This shit is never coming out.
I fully expect it to be MTL printed on toilet paper regardless of anything so my expectations are already pretty low
>>24054640I remember that too. Fuck I fell into another new world line again.
Translations of FSS have been readily available online for years. Why would you even want this?
>>24054899Some people like owning things Some people like holding something real in their handsSome people have souls
>>24054904Those people would have bought the original JP tanks long ago
>>24054899Considering how Titan's comic book output tends to have much more love and care put into it than their manga localization, I suspect there is some casual racism going on behind the scenes.
Still going to buy it but even I feel a bit confused why I'm buying the middle part of an artists perpetual magnum opus that never ends. Maybe it's because I think gothicmade looks a bit lame.
>>24054915I did
>>24054983Fair enough, and good on you.
>>24054957Gothicmade also will never be seen outside of JP theaters in rare screenings so that's something to consider. I'd be curious to know how many people have actually seen it.
>>24054899Because of the possibility that we finally get past volume 10 no matter how slim.>>24054904No you don't you fucks were begging for the two anons who bought it to upload English scans of The Origin because all of you just wanted to pirate shit.
>>24054940Bongs are... le racist?
>>24054192>Mamoru Nagano is too much of a luddite to allow anyone but the French to make an official Digital edition of the manga.you do realize raw scans have existed for every single volume to date now right>but it's not officialyes, and?
If the translation changes that panel where someone gets called a nigger it's automatically going in the trash
Quality concerns aside, Titan series have been hitting their solicited release dates this year, so I do wonder what keeps delaying FFS. That they keep pushing Volume 1 back by only a month makes me think it's related to physical production and not hold-ups on the Japanese side of things.
>>24055270I got bad news for you anon. That was HEAVILY ad libbed. That's not even close to what he says in the official translation. It's more like 'this guy is heading for the throne room'
>>24055680>That's not even close to what he says in the official translationThat was the official translation.
>>24055254>No you don't you fucks were begging for the two anons who bought it to upload English scans of The Origin because all of you just wanted to pirate shit.Way off base, faggot
>>24055254>English scans of The OriginOf the official release that looks like it was typeset in MS Paint? Who the fuck would want to see that? The fantranslations look tons better.
>>24053700This manga is genuinely fucking DOGSHIT. the storytelling is pure incoherent mess.
>>24055757>babby cant handle his first nonsequential narrativeStick to shonenslop
>>24055704it genuinely isnt
>>24055757>incoherentmaybe if you're developmentally disabled. the story is pretty straightforward albeit a bit convoluted. you could say it's poorly paced or any other valid criticism but instead you decide to complain about something that just makes you look stupid.
>>24056050The scans are straight from the official release. You can tell because nobody else ever used that ridiculous font
>>24056164I understand this is the 'official' translation but that's not what he says in Japanese version. I'll say it again- this was the translator having fun
>>24056165Then you need to be more precise with your terminology, official is official. It was approved by Nagano and Kadokawa
>>24056171and by approved you mean they accepted a check and never gave a second thought to what those silly gaijins were up to.
>>24056215Who at kadokawa said that?
>>24056220Me
>>24056165Retard.
>>24056215You don't understand how autistic Nagano is about his work.
>>24056215>and by approved you mean they accepted a check and never gave a second thought to what those silly gaijins were up to.If Nagano was the kind of individual that could be left content with a check, Gothicmade would've had a home video release a decade ago.
>>24055757It's kinda random all over the place wackiness like Shirow stuff. Not so bad, all considering.
>>24060353>passion project movie made by the original manga author meant to jumpstart his entire franchise again after a decade-long hiatus>some localization thousands away from Japan given to a literal who company with zero background check of their past work and notorious reputation for producing unreadable machine translated slopone of these is not like the other
>>24060708This. What people don't seem to get is that no matter how autistic the creators are, international releases are an entirely different ball game, especially if at that time, the creator may not have sufficient level of influence in the overseas market. And no matter how autistic you are, you're still not gonna be able to micro manage everything in the production process. Also the current dumb back and forth arguments could have been solved by posting the original japanese manga page.
>>24053700It isn't, apparently.
>>24056165FSS gets more up itself about translations than even the Kusuriya-Krew does about whether Maomao frenched Jinshi or not in vol 5.
I'm so mad at autists who don't release their work.>yeah i made a whole anime>may i see it?>no
>>24063807You can see it, the same way everyone else canYou just cant pirate it, which is what youre really mad about
>>24063814I’m so glad I don’t have the kind of autism that possesses you to make a slideshow (cause he only hired four animators not including himself) in 8K with absurd sound quality to boot which makes it impossible to view on home media or streaming with the same quality.
>>24063814>You can see it, the same way everyone else can"Everyone else", as in "people in Japan who happen to catch one of the few and far in between theatrical showings".
>>24064442>>24063861Your point? Do you think you have some right to someone else's work?
>>24054640anon, you've been crossing timelines by mistake again2 years ago the Nagai museum burned down
