Oh no-
Here's your new P-Bandai release bro! lmaooooo>New Release: Bandai Candy Toy Click & Connect VasaMillion - March 2027 release for 440 yen each
He's crying about childrens toys again
>>24053202LOOOOOOL
literally
>>24053202>>24053204Aren't those clothes line cli->Yes
>>24053202Not plamo
>>24053202It's dumb but it's PB so who cares
>>24053202This is not a model.>>>/toy/
>>24053205This might actually be better because you get more clips and don't have to deal with spare connectors.
I know there was a bootleg of Ground Gundam + Parachute pack with all this extra gear but it seems like it completely disappeared? I still see the Slave Wraith kit version which I THINK comes with all the same stuff but not regular Groundy
>limited to only 2 per person.FUUUUAKKKKK I CAN'T COMPLETE THE SQUAD WITH ONLY ONE PREORDER.
>>24053253get 2 mirrors
>>24052642Get yourself madworks or ray studio stuff. These are really good. And if you want to "know" better, watch vids about it before you buy.
>we need a revive 2.0 for this Why?Godforsaken that we get something new instead keep remaking things that are perfectly fine for what they have to do
>>24053281EHHHH I have the kit and it really is just a tiny bit disappointing in some places despite my love for Gelgoogbut I don't think a revive is needed, especially when there's genuinely like a hundred other kits that deserve it more. Plus no shot a revive would come with all the same accessories
>>24053281fuck you, I want more 'googsask chang to print your literally who robots
>>24053281Just start your own company and make new shit. Why a random chinese guy can start a plamo workshop in his basement with underpaid orphans and make shit he wants but you can't?
>>24053292The first world has laws and shit, actually
>>24053294Just get a competent lawyer
>>24053295I don't think you know how copyright law works. You can't bootleg in the first world.
>>24053190finished my Federation/AEUG pilot's mech circa the One Year War.

>>24053317Cute
>>24053317is this loss?
>>24053188I am sad to inform that my Albion project is not going to be completed on time, because cutting the small landing gears are above my skill level. If anyone have any tips for cutting then I'll be grateful, but currently I'm basically mangling the piece trying to extract the molded part with a modeler knife.
>>24053349Pictures?
can any super epic gamers identify what piece this backskirt is, it's painfully familiar but I can't for the life of me name it
Why is it so hard to get vernier/thruster parts in small sizesI'm scouring the earth to find 5mm diameter ones and they're out of stock fucking everywhere. The places that do sell them, that I've never heard of, restrict you to one pair only.
>>24053200Quick, clean it before it dries!

>>24053188>>24053190Still working on the zeon Spartan GM>>24053250Search for KK kits, I got one, not with the parachute and missile seeking launcher but the groundi with the backpack and basic accessories seems to still pop up if you want it
>>24053392Pretty cool. Looking forward to the finished one
>>24053320In another lifetime, maybe.>>24053324yup, handpainted

>>24053350This 'pannel' is a landing gear on the design, and not only I mangled the edge of the part, I also didn't cut the piece.Even if somehow I cut it, there's 16 more to do.

>>24053392>Search for KK kits, I got one, not with the parachute and missile seeking launcher but the groundi with the backpack and basic accessories seems to still pop up if you want ityeah I've done exactly that and yeah I have no trouble finding the GM but yeah I specifically mentioned the gundam with parachute pack so... yeah...
>>24053315>>24053317I like this color scheme
Anyone here used Master brand decals?
>>24053190I finished painting the figures that came with the U.C. Hard Graph core fighter. I'm pretty happy with them but clearly need to practice better technique when it comes to miniatures.
>>24053555Got something you can use to scale them? Looks pretty good anon
>>24053190>>24053555I've also gotten the paint down on the armor and weapons on a lot of the ν Gundam rework. I've got most of the base and secondary colors finished. Moving on to the frame parts.
>>24053557I have this shot with the MG Gundam 3.0, the Hard Graph, PG and MG versions of Amuro and Sayla.
>>24053491Are you talking about the rectangles? If you have a small drill/pin vise you can drill the corners of the rectangles, then drill a few more holes along the line, then it's just a matter of connecting the dots with a blade and then shaping the edge with a hobby knife. The first one will be time consuming but by the last one you should be knocking them out pretty quickly.
What's the sexiest gundam model ever made?
>>24053587MG F91 2.0
>>24053589I agree, with the addendum you need to combine it with the 1.0's base.
>>24053587MG Mk V>>24053589the MG 2.0 gets the torso all wrong and elongated.
>>24053618The 1.0 gets those wrong if you look at the other half of the times it's drawn in the movie
>>24053623lineart and keyframes are what matter thoughbeit
while everything was down I got productive about my groupbuild entry finally and got some painting done but I fucking hated how it turned out so we're back at square one and the parts are sitting in alcohol to strip the paint off.
>>24053626Lucky you, it's been raining on and off for like an entire month here so I haven't been able to paint shit.
>>24053626Mines been done for a month. I just need to photograph it.
>>24053626I completed more of this red fucker, I'm really tempted to paint in normal Gundam colors as the more I stare at it the more I hate the red. In other news, the LTN 120 cuts CLEAN.

>>24053589
A new MG announced.
>>24053706I liked this thing in Full Metal Panic.
>>24053701for the uninitiated, what frame is that? the feet, shoulders, and single eye make me think it's a jegan?
>>24053701>newThat's just a MG jegan.
>>24053719Yeah it's the already released Jegan.
>>24053701That japanese guy on twitter got me too
>>24053701>>24053738Dummies.>>24053714The upside down bat pose display bits are cool as fuck, though it kinda bothers me it looks like the girder it's hanging from it just held up by its feet and nothing else. Not a big deal but it does trigger my tism a little.
>>24053529Image name lies, there is a second right there. >>24053701I mean it's a Jegan, but we need the F91 Jegan's in MG.
>>24053757>I mean it's a Jegan, but we need the F91 Jegan's in MG.no we don't.they are literally the most entry level-friendly DIY projects known to man
>>24053767Nope, more Jegan variants.
>>24053757That's the old Den'an Zon in the back. I have a second RE100 one to build.>>24053767not really, anything you have to scratchbuild entire parts on isn't anywhere near the "most entry level-friendly DIY projects known to man"
>>24053785>not really, anything you have to scratchbuild entire parts on isn't anywhere near the "most entry level-friendly DIY projects known to man"It quite literally is. All the parts are basic polygons. No compound curves to deal with. The only thing easier is a basic paintjob, but that I would not even consider a DIY project.
>>24053791That's just simply not true in the slightest and you're the silliest little retard for trying to say any project involving scratchbuilding even just a rifle as one would have to do for F91 Jegans is not at all the most entry level DIY project."Why yes there's nothing easier to do than scratchbuild a beam rifle design. What do you mean all those other things that are easier?"
>>24053798You are incapable of distinguishing tasks from projects.
>>24053587
>>24053801You are a retard pretending to be a hotshit modeller and it's embarrassing.
>>24053804>hotshitloleI think very little of myself, and yet an F91 jegan is a simple mod that only requires sheet and rod styrene.
>>24053767You do realize that even the F91 Normal type Jegan has a new beam rifle, new top half of shield, new backpack, new outer legs, and a modified head antenna right? And there are two more variants with even more differences?
>>24053806>You do realize that even the F91 Normal type Jegan has a new beam rifle, new top half of shield, new backpack, new outer legs, and a modified head antenna right? >And there are two more variants with even more differences? No, you have this completely backwards. The F91 Normal and B type have the exact same legs, an even more simplified backpack (just requiring covering up detail with flat panels over the CCA jegan), an extra vernier on the "wings" of the backpack, some super basic missile pods and a disc removed from the vulcan pod replaced with a small square protrusion, and the simplest shield mod known to mankind. The type A is the one with the new legs and shoulders. This is all very entry level, and the only thing preventing you from making either a normal type or B type is your own fear of exerting minor effort.
>>24053813The normal type is on the right. It has new leg parts. Dalong is in English now, you don't a have to be retarded. Looking at his spare parts picture is the easiest way of finding differences.
>>24053816oh no! you have to remove detail and fill a little area with putty!truly the hardest job in the world!
>>24053805A simple mod isn't scratchbuilding entire parts bro.Yes, by the way, hotshit. Not a typo.
>>24053818guess you should know your Jegans next time before running your mouth
>>24053818Ah, so we have moved on from "there are no curves and just need flat styrene and rod styrene" to "you need flat styrene, rod styrene, and putty". Also scratch building like 30% of the kits exterior is not a beginner friendly project even if it is mostly flat styrene. Especially since we are talking about the MG so you want to add a certain level of surface detail.
>>24053822you don't need to scratchbuild any curves. my original statement remains correct. the existing curve for that leg exists and you could even directly sand through the existing leg vernier into the desired end shape if you glued it prior to sanding without needing any putty.
>>24053824It's not a single piece on the MG, which is what we are fucking talking about.
>>24053824Well no, you're going to have to use putty because you'll have a hole there when you take out the vernier, you weird little larper.
>>24053827>>24053828ah, so you are both inept and illiterate>you could even directly sand through the existing leg vernier into the desired end shape if you glued it prior to sanding without needing any puttyall of the old vernier protrudes above the desired curve (including the interior yellow part. if you glued the yellow part to the surrounding leg armor, you would be able to sand both flush into the surrounding armor with no leftover holes.
>>24053831What part of "there's a hole there" don't you get you stupid fucking retardYou are trying to talk about something you don't even know the assembly of
>>24053836there is no "hole"the yellow insert is a solid piece of plastic with a minorly inset louver detail that still remains hugher at its lowest point than the desired contour that you would be sanding to. If you sand through both the vernier surround and the top layers of the yellow insert, it will wind up a continuous, flush surface.
>>24053836Is it too hard to drill a hole in plastic?
>>24053831>>24053836The center of the vernier is part of the inner frame of the leg and is *not* above the curve of the leg. You are still ignoring the main argument with yourself. It's not that this is particularly hard. It's that it isn't a beginner friendly straightforward DIY modification. Also the more important part which is Bandai can do this on 2-3 runners for each variant with some gates making them share most of the mold. Then be able to have 3 more P-Bandai releases.
>>24053838the yellow insert is not a solid piece of plastic, it is a piece with a hole in it, and it sits recessed on the innermost part you fucking dumbass
>>24053842 ntanothing a little trapezoid of plaplate wouldn't fixzero putty needed
>>24053839anon I think you might be even more retardedthe entire point is you don't want the fucking hole, you will have to putty over it, which no actually no one is saying is the hardest task ever conceived by man but a direct rebuttal to the retard who doesn't know what modifications are even required to do what he's saying and said it wouldn't need anything to do but sanding, because he's talking completely out of his ass for (you)s.
>>24053845>you will have to putty over itAs >>24053844 said, just make a plaplate stack.
>>24053847no one is asking how to do the mods lil broin fact I feel confident everyone who has posted knows how you can accomplish thisthe discussion originally stemmed from that it's not the simplest DIY in the world to make an F91 Jegan but here is a very direct post refuting a very direct claim that is intentionally pointing out that anon can't be bothered to check dalong before pretending to be an expert on how to even do the mod (hurr just glue and sanding it's all flush!)
>>24053852It is a pretty simple DIY build thoughbeit Zero compound curvesAll can be done with styrene tube and plate
I really really want a MG jegan A type but would never ever do any modeling to get one
>>24053856For the last time, each individual mod is not difficult, but rebuilding 30% of a kit is not considered simple, let alone entry level. Especially since it includes a completely scratch built gun (and it's an MG so you would expect that to have things like a detachable epac)
>>24053859>each individual mod is not difficult, but rebuilding 30% of a kit is not considered simplemany simple changes remains a simple project>and it's an MG so you would expect that to have things like a detachable epacpeople do not care about this kind of stuff when a kit is painted. play features only appeal to people who think of their finished projects as toys first rather than a display piece.
>>24053862This thread is about toys, but either way you are building an articulated model so you can occasionally repose it, which sometimes involves changing options on it. When I paint kits I do all of the parts for this reason and make sure not to glue anything important into place.
>>24053706>>24053714Kinda strange that they didn't just go straight to GN-XIV. Not complaining though.
>>24053862no, many simple changes makes something an involved project, not a simple one. One simple change is a simple project. 10 simple changes is no longer a simple project. Nevermind anything more about any of this, your initial premise is just completely wrong because you don't understand words.
>Remember the Lightning Gundam is just a Bawoo with a Gundam head>Decide to buy HG Bawoo online and switch the head out or try to modify it to look more Federation-esqueI've got a spare 105 Dagger kit laying around in my closet I think I'm gonna use for the head— the Earth Alliance is basically just the Federation if the Titans were in control anyway
>>24053752Was this gnx in the movie? I can't remember it at all.
>>24053917MSV, but I recalled it has darker color, not this shade of blue.
>>24053880counting one grain of rice is simplecounting 400 grains of rice and adding up a jar of spare change still remains simple
>>24053921in that case you might as well suck dicks for the rest of your life because sucking a dick once for money is simple, make your whole life simple
>>24053924I'm not here to live out your fantasies man
>>24053190Finished the fat nigger last night. Photo session and B pack later today if the weather permits.I really like my paintjob and this was a kit I had wanted for a long time but damn he took a long time to finish. Very nice colors to work with but the tan kinda got old around the second highlight of the 80th part. The chink decal set I got for him was really thin and easy to work with but the A backpack missile pods have around 40 decals by themselves and they're not even that noticable. Also it had too few copies of a couple of the decals which was weird because it had additional ones and color variants of others.I told myself while reassembling him that I would paint something smaller next but then I saw the MG Alex and Gustav Karl were in stock so so much for that idea...
>>24053920Ah fuck it, I'll preorder since I always liked the gnx design.
>expect: cute egyptian theme girlpla>got: chocolate semen demon
>>24053767It'll probably be a Premium Crack-Bandai kit one day. They already have the Jegan D and its color variant.I've been hoping for at least one MG of another grunt or enemy MS from the F90/F91 era. I want to see the inner-frame design of a late UC opfor MS.
>>24053701you can tell this is a troll because Bandai doesn't tease MG kits for hype like this since at least 2019.There's no hype and MG is dead.
>>24053942Cleopatra if she was black
>>24053942this hair sculpt seems particularly lazy even for bandai
>>24053987They just stick to what Ebikawa gave them.
>>24053987k you're just nitpicky at this point. Most of the hair acc werent that crazy detailed to begin with.
https://x.com/vambino_modeler/status/2113164365159596198She's technically classified in the same small type as the other loli rabbit 30MS kits, but her proportions are actually tweaked a bit to be smaller/rounder and eye position raised to really sell the loli body type. The loli girlpla wars have begun.
>>24054013Getting a copy of her the moment she hits the market. Also, I fucking knew that set of plain Color C limbs I bought on a whim is gonna come in handy.
Samurai is surprisingly very blue
>>24053942>>24054013Just like with Sestieh and her leotard, I have a feeling that she's gonna be yet another kit where most people won't bother putting on the rest of her clothes. And speaking of newly released 30MS stuff, also digging Dilmea. Shame she's P-Bandai. I really like the Saint Seiya-ass Space Admiral look she's doing.
>>24054024>DilmeaI actually got her ordered. Planning to do some silly stuff with HG Crossbone accessories and weapons with her.
>>24054024myasti as full package is really cute though. And the sestiah line is leotard focues so having that bloomer was pretty stupid. kinda reminds me of koto releasing a recolored izumo that gave it a proper leotard instead of that dumb waist skirt bit.I think my complaint with 30ms peebs are the fantasy ones have more bang for their bank compared to the prior sci-fi themed versions.
>>24054013I shan't be buying this slop
>>24054024i don't like body c though
>>24054024Not really a fan of her default hair, but at least they include Minerva and Valkyrie hair part to swap.
>>24054013Lot of potential to fiddle around with a few 30MF parts and add this curve sword for some fantasy theme girlpla. Not that she has any mecha bits to begin with.
>>24054034omg it's miku

Interesting, so they included one extra head part to make her look slightly older.
you ready to see Bandai printing 40 million of these instead of literally any other kit?

Which Zaku would be better to customise in style of modern tanks - Gquuuuuuuuuu(..)ux or II FZ?
Should you wash third-party runners before working on the kit? I'm worried they're coated in Chinesium from the factory that only activates on gweilo hands.
>>24054177Definitely FZ. The gquuuuuux one is not nearly blocky enough.
>>24054151A lot of what was looted is already for sale at a discount.
>>24054178anything that you sand, you should wash it
>>24054180Isn't it like GQux is severely lacking in articulation?
>>24054187It articulates fine. It just looks way too scifi to pull off a modern tank aesthetic.
>>24054177FZ was basically made for that. Izubuchi's designs lend themselves a lot to real armour techniques.
>>24053706>>24053714>>24053752>>24053934Looks like Bandai people forgot to include something with that Superbia.
>>24054191Retarded is the word you're looking for. It looks like a retarded teenage mutant ninja turtle. It can MAYBE be made to resemble an Object 279 from the cold war. I did find some third party kit that makes it look better though, I'll post that next post.

>>24054261Weird way to admit my post is the truth but I guess I'll take it.
>>24054259this bitch uglyI still have no idea wtf they were thinking with this design
>>24054270>wtf they were thinkingI can only theorize what they were thinking, as they took everything about an iconic design and said "fuck that, throw it all into the trash". >mechanical design Ikuto Yamashita> previously the mechanical designer for Neon Genesis Evangelion seriesOne thing is for certain, just because you helped design decent robots for one series, doesn't mean you have the capability to design good robots for another series. Guy clearly should have been stopped early on but bandai was hoping and praying that his garbage would be a smash hit.
>>24054270>>24054281I think he was going through an ass fixation when he designed this and the Gquuux Rick-Dom
>>24053701a 2.0 RE-GZ MG is much needed, new proportions like this mod of the 1.0 would make it much better.
>>24054259>>24054270A problem I have with most GQ mecha designs is that imo a lot of parts look decent individually but together they look like a hot mess. I feel like the RX-78 and the Zaku designs specifically needed another pass
>>24054259I get what they were going for but the proportions just don't look good.
>>24054295qx gundam is pretty cool though. A lot better than gqx. The zaku's legs need a fucking remake though. I get the thunder thighs. but there are ways to make it look cool, and gqx just isn't it
>>24054293>>24054295I think he was asked to re-imagine what these robots would look like with the evangelion design philosophy. that immediately explains why the Gundam looks like an chinese Eva ripoff. He must have run into issues with the zaku, as it is less eva inspired and instead 6 turtles that are loosely connected to each other with appendages.
>>24054259I tell you what's wrong with it, at least the HG - it have absolutely abysmal articulation. Legs can bend and that all - they cannot even rotate, except at very small range at their hips so you are pretty much stuck with "leg up, leg down" pose like some McDonald Happy Meal toy. Arms have to stay slightly up all the time since they otherwise would collide with mentioned hips. The only pose it can take is default standing one that Japanese love so much, which is probably why nobody even noticed. It was my first Zaku and I already hated it.
>>24054305>It was my first Zaku My heart goes out to you, nobody's first anything should be that bad.
>>24053190>>24053558I painted a gradient on the ν Gundam's funnels and shield. Not sure I like it, but I can always paint over it before I get to decals. I'm in the middle of a brutal cold right now so I don't really trust any choices I'm making right now.
>>24054305Try the Revive or one of the Origin Zakus instead. They pose better and come with more in the box (especially Origin)
>>24054294>a 2.0 RE-GZ MG is much neededwe already have a 1.5 that is more than good enough
>>24054294We won't see one for at least another decade because they want to keep selling the P-Bandai 1.5 kits for at least another few years.
>>24054238Thank you!>>24054237>Instead of the typical GR ReZEL schemeUh, it actually is just the gr rezel scheme though. I brightened up the orange a little bit but the tone of the tan is pretty much exactly what the plastic is molded as. My base coat was a little darker and the highlight a little brighter. With the darker shadow color it strays a bit further but still registers as the default colors to me. The only actual adjustment I did was making the gun green grey, the b pack guns dark blue and the missiles red.
>missed the preorder for Armored Core Structure Arts Vol 2damn it, does anybody know any stores in the states that ordered some?
>>24054316I know it's the typical scheme of it, but whether it's the lighting or the effects of heavy shading and highlighting or something else it registers as a almost a subtle camo scheme to me.

>>24054320Fair enough. I think the modulation shadows have the most impact in that regard. They give the legs especially a lot more definition since there's so many surfaces on them. Also helps that the light in my room is warm and the background has a similar palette.
>>24054151even with the hoodweebs and shounenfags in their ranks. I doubt they're capable of scalping.
I think I get why I don't like 30mfs as much. They're not bulky enough by default.

>>24054424I think it is the big baby head that ruins the design. They need smaller and less rounded head.
>>24053190Just gotta finish the gun and do a few decals.
>>24054428i doubt it. shounen fags know manga but model kits are an anathema to them. You can expect randoms spruces washed up across paris's rivers.

How likely is it that this is going to be a HGUC kit?
>>24054626it's finally happening!
>>24054626in seriousness, it's probably just a statue. the whole chest is molded as a single piece, which you'll never see even on HG kits.
>>24054176>Locking this thread. It sucks this happened to them but it seems we’re incapable as community to comment on it without involving racist or other bullshit that were receiving non-stop alerts for. kekAt some point, you do have to ask yourself about The Trend though. Like even if you can't talk about it, you'll keep seeing it happening.
>>24054628This. Each Gundam Base has its own personalized statue based on its location. Gundam Base Hong Kong has a large God Gundam overlooking the entrance, in reference to the Gundam Fight final tournament taking place in Hong Kong. Gundam Base Sydney having a Shamblo would be in reference to the Torrington Base attack in Unicorn, presumably because they thought that a giant space colony falling on top of the Gundam Base would be an engineering challenge and a bit in bad taste. That being said, Bandai seems to be more willing to make HG mobile armors as of late:GP03: March 2002Psyco: August 2004GN Arms Exia: March 2008GN Arms Dynames: September 2008Neo Zeong: June 2014Hashmal: December 2016Narrative-A: November 2018Nightingale: July 2021Typhoeus Chimera: December 2023Destroy: March 2024Zeus Silhouette: December 2024Psyco Mk-II: March 2025Alyzeus: April 2026Five mobile armors within the last three years is pretty big, especially since before it was a pace of about one every two years at most. Shamblo has a decent chance it's Unicorn, and honestly there aren't that many other possibilities. 0083 is a bit old hat so Neue Ziel probably isn't that appetizing. Alpha Azieru has a decent chance as well since it could ride on Hathaway's popularity and CCA always gets love. There's also a couple of Urdr-Hunt mobile armors that could get kits but highly unlikely since Bandai's love for Urdr-Hunt seems to only extend to mobile suits. That basically leaves OYW mobile armors, especially the meme possibility of Big Zam.
>>24054650robot damashi big zam is a wallet raper. So I've been praying for a HG. I mean it can't be that fucking hard it's just a big green thing with legs.
>bought the 1/100 Zeus Silhouette on discount>going to have to buy a MG Destiny too, and paint it in Spec II as well as do a custom waterslide job>"Hey, wait a minute, I forgot that they announced the MGEX Mighty Strike Freedom not that long ago.">this means there's a pretty high chance that there's going to be a MG Destiny Spec II announced at some point in the future>the existing MG Destiny is from 2007 and thus a bit long in the tooth anyway, so there's a very good chance it's going to be a full 2.0 and not a half-assed 1.5And thus my impulse buy turns into yet another waiting game...
>want to make my 30mf like I moc bionicle>each kit is 50$ eachFUCK
>>24054671Just buy a base kit and get those class up/optional armors to bulk up, much cheaper than getting a full kit to strip their armors. And 50$ for one? that's some insane jacked up price when the base price is only 2k~2k5 yen for one full kit.
>>24054563Which one tastes the best?
>>24054650I still remember the day I first saw the Dendrobium box in person. My family went flew to Disneyland and we went to visit my mom's side of the family nearby. They took us to a mall that had an anime/manga store which I had NEVER seen before. I knew about anime and stuff but we didn't have anything like that in the midwest at the time. I remember seeing the box on the shelf looking impressive as FUCK. Also the price tag made me think I'd never own one. It was like a religious experience. I think that was the day I became obsessed with mecha.
>>24054666>there's a very good chance it's going to be a full 2.0 and not a half-assed 1.5They just made an MGSD destiny, they're not doing an MG destiny 2.0 for the next 5-10 years at least

>>24054699>MG Barbatos: 2019>MGSD Barbatos: 2023>MG Wing Zero Custom: 2020>MGSD Wing Zero Custom: 2024Bandai rarely ever misses a chance to capitalize on Seed, an MG Destiny Spec II would absolutely sell like hotcakes, especially on the heels of the MGEX Mighty SF.
A friend's in Hong Kong, what's a good gunpla to ask for that they might not have in stock here back in the west?
>>24054734There are shitloads of hobby stores (and even entire dedicated shopping centers) that sell Gunpla for significantly cheaper than here in the US, stock availability isn't the only benefit. Several of them also have second-hand P-Bandai that roughly equal out to the cost of buying from US P-Bandai (maybe slightly cheaper thanks to tariffs and shipping) but which haven't seen the light of day on US P-Bandai for probably years.I wouldn't go to the Gundam Base there except if you really really want a particular exclusive, since it's far more expensive than the hobby shops. When I went there, I think they had the RG Sazabi FF for roughly $80 USD.
>>24054740WowieThen maybe I should ask for an HG Re-GzI can't ask for anything too expensive, I will merely be receiving one or two (1-2) gifts>no Richard Dias or his German cousin whose name I can never spell>The O we have here tooAn RG Sazabi would be really nice though
>>24054743You can get a regular RG Sazabi at Hobby Lobby right now for like $45 USD. Personally, I'd set my sights higher and go for something more rare. The stores I went to were virtually littered with HG Rose and Dragon Gundams, and by now there might be stuff that was released more recently like Spiegel and such. At one particular store I'm pretty sure I saw a MGEX Strike Freedom for like $100 USD.Though honestly, unless your friend is willing to spend the time to go hunting for you, it's probably best to just make a list of kits you'd like (also send pictures of the boxes to help identify them) and settle with whatever they're able to find. There's like at least a half-dozen places I found between the island side and in Mong Kok, and asking someone to go to out of their way to visit all of those locations would just be assholish.
GP02 seriously needs a Revive
>>24054748>Hobby Lobby>USDBut I'm Mr Canada>G GundamHe knows I like G Gundam, so if that's something that's available then maybe I'll be lucky!>list of kitsI mean, I don't necessarily know what options there are or what would be good, I was given a Beastbox of the black Getter Robo last time because I like supers, but I wouldn't know what cheap options if any for kits (or toys) exist for Gurren Lagann, for instance. I think he's going to visit his usual locations as a native and let me know what sort of stuff he saw, but it'd be helpful to note any kits I was sorely missing... which I don't really have a list for anymore. A TV Eva-01 would be nice, a ReGZ would be neat but not essential, would the Gqux Hamburabi be a good choice, since it's slightly expensive for an HG?Maybe the Zock??? There's a bunch of kits that are "stuff I'd love but can't justify buying" and the Zock is near the top. Same price as The O except it's a brick... but design-wise it does everything it's supposed to do, including its movement. I did mention wanting some mobile armors, I guess worst-case a Zock might count??>>24054797I love the GP02>can barely have him properly aim the (beam) bazooka>fatass whose design probably can't nor would be intended to have a decent double bend somehow doesSugoi, I wish my beloved The O could move its fatass retard legs more
>>24054842That's literally just the Lich from Holy Knight Ricca.
>>24054842>>24054883These dont look ANYTHING alike, not even the armor shape. Are you blind?
>>24054797The HG is good. The MG does need an official revive though.
>>24054806>Sugoi, I wish my beloved The O could move its fatass retard legs moreI wonder what kind of mentallity that lead you to this? You want to buy fatfuck designs but you also want them to pose effectively.
>>24054913I still find it so weird we got such an early RG of Unit 1, but still no Unit 2 or 3. All the MGs would be well served with updated versions at this point but I really woulda thought we'd get RGs. RG Stamen would be a good excuse to hype up a Dendrobium reprint with it too.
>>24054928Pretty sure OVA boys will get their RG eventually, Ground Gundam is coming. It is objectively better to be made late because man, those old RG kits stink.
>>24054933I'd still pretty readily recommend the MK2 and GP01 to anyone interested in them but yeah, the modern RGs are vastly improved. True for most lines. RE100 might be the only real exception I can think of, and that's pretty much only because the earlier releases had more hand options than what the line's settled on. Other elements of construction mostly improved though so whatever.
>>24054936The only bad re/100 is the nightingale. It's gotta be the most consistently good line they've made.
>>24054941The Jagd Doga, as much as I love to the point I have three, is pretty disappointing. Just extremely weak joints and no holding power. Nightingale, Detector and Efreet are the only ones I don't personally own so can't comment on them, but I'll be getting the Detector soon.
>>24054947Guncannon detector is really good. Nightingale has worse issues than weak joints. It can't hold its weapons at all. It likes to drop arms. It has no articulation in places where it should and could have very easily. The subarms are solid pieces. It's just strictly worse than the high grade.
>>24053190>>24053933And he's all done. I haven't transformed him yet because I don't wanna scratch or break anything, though I'll probably give it a shot in a week or two once I've enjoyed the MS form enough.
>>24054958I am being ddosed whenever i try to add an image to a post
>>24054960I'm really happy with the green and blue guns, they add a nice bit of variety to the tan brick around them
>>24054956Yeah I expected all those issues with it though honestly. Big dudes in 1/100 are just going to have problems without real engineering work going into them which absolutely doesn't mesh for a line trying to be simplistic. I wasn't ever gonna buy it for other reasons but lacking the subarms is pretty fucking embarrassing. Jagd Doga not being able to lift its knees is not something I really expected though. On the plus side the HGUC Nightingale is remarkably good and that it can hold its rifle and pose just about anyway it wants is pretty impressive. I expected something less stable but they really knocked it out of the park. It renewed my appreciation for the design honestly.
>>24054961I considered painting the underside of the visor silver to match the other cameras but the raised details look really nice chromed out on a darker background
>>24054964The thrusters were a bit of a pain to paint and the dark rings aren't 100% clean but they're good enough. Honestly he might look better from the back with how much color there is on it.
>>24054968Hyper beam sabers are very cool but I was hesitant to go for more dynamic poses because the abdomen is almost flush with the front skirts so rotating the waist would result in scratches.
>>24054960>>24054961>>24054964>>24054968>>24054970tightI like your yard
>>24054964Bit of trouble with the silver? Are you touching up with a brush? Feel like a lot of the silver application in places could be cleaned up with a quick bit of handbrushing.
>>24054975Thank you, I'm glad to be /gpg/'s premier gardener>>24054977Not sure what part you mean. The only painted silver is under the visor, the vulcans and the lips of the thruster bells and they're all done by brush. I used foil stickers under all the other cameras.
>>24054977>>24054981Ah, upon reinspection some of the thruster lips did get rubbed off, I'll need to touch those up.
>>24054981Just asking about the vulcans and thruster bits since there's some poor coverage there is all. Seemed like the sort of paint damage from masking issues is why I asked that way. Also that forehead seam stands out to me on the closeup underneath the jewel.Really like the back of the legs, the silver between the cables adds a whole lot in that area. Your decal placement is nice too, though I think the missile pods maybe coulda used some warning text or something?Mostly my taste, but I think the interior of the missile pod bay doors would look nicer in a dark colour instead of being white outside and inside too.
>>24054653there's always the MSiA
>>24054989>Your decal placement is nice too, though I think the missile pods maybe coulda used some warning text or something? They do have little red ones on every single door but they get washed out in the zoomed out photos. I wanted to put something a bit bigger there but I didn't have any other decal on hand that I liked for them that I also had 12 copies of.>interior of the missile pod bay doorsYeah that's completely fair I considered doing them in the same color as the inner frame but this kit has so many parts that I decided to just leave them in the purple shadow color.
>>24054997Ahh, yeah, I missed those. Definitely help add some visual complexity to it when the hatches are closed. >but I didn't have any other decal on hand that I liked for them that I also had 12 copies of.Makes sense, yeah, it can be annoying as fuck to get matching decals of duplicate equipment. Definitely does feel like a model where you could display the back of it. Really like the pose with the beam sabre out particularly, always fond of "just pulled out a beam sabre to block an attack with my offhand while still holding my gun" kinda thing. Just tells a story from the pose immediately, you know? Looks great. I hope this one's from an alternate timeline where it and all its friends didn't job terribly to two MS.
>>24054349>I expected more from (Seed Freedom) MSVbut why? that's entirely consistent with the effort put into the designs in the movie itself and there's no shortage of MSVs that are about as innovative as that

>>24055113It isn't much of a feat, they just followed the MG Doga. I like the RE100 sculpt a lot more though personally. Would've been nice to get a proper MG too, it is one of my faves and now lives in the sad state of being the only non-MG CCA design but I don't really have much attachment to inner frames really. I'm generally happier with (somewhat) simpler kits these days, just getting the design is most of what matters to me. I can do the rest myself if I care about it so much. I do enjoy building a complex MG but if every design had a RE100 or MG to choose from, only my faves would be in MG.

Finished the Zaku II fz. Fun kit. The only problem it has is the shoulder being a clamshell. I thought they'd moved past that by the point this thing came out. Easy enough to weld and fix luckily. Not nearly as bad as doing the hizacks shoulder.I also do not like the rubber heat pipes. Still not as bad as the hizacks.

HG Super Fumina and the Early Frame Arms Girl kits made me swear off Girlpla because they have that whole uncanny valley and abject horrors against God's design kind of vibe to them. But Girlpla plamo tech really seems to have accelerated in the past four years or so and all of them are fuckin' adorable. There are a couple of recent kits that acting like constant intrusive demons in the back of my head, but I really don't want to add more to my mecha plamo expenses.
Speaking of Frame Arms Girl, I really do wish they release a new version of Gourai. The latest proper build of Gourai they did was the Gourai-Kai back in 2020. And other Gourais released since then have just been recolors using that same base and honestly its showing its age compared to newer Koto stuff. You'd think miss Jane Frame Arms Girls herself would have tons of vanilla builds just like the RX-78-2.Was surprised to see that they're releasing a new Gourai something only to find out that its:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iSPsShf_lAit's uh, something alright.

>>24055424choco egyptian girlplas are the best
>>24055490Kotos girlpla started getting way better after bandai entered the market. Frame arms girls from the time look worse than sisters do now. They had to get better.
>>24055490Chink girpla are legit great. My plastic robots collection's still mainly Japanese, but my girlpla are now mainly Chinese.
>>24055520What brands do you collect anon? What's the best Chinese girlpla brand out right now?
>>24055522Hemoxian's Starflower Lily and Jiu Lian are probably my favorites at the moment.Eastern model's atk girl line is also pretty neat - I like the archer with the big hat from their jinyiwei series. They've also got that new fox girl daji one which I'm tempted to get. Anyway, those 2 brands are the standouts to me so far.I recently bought mecha break's black panther, haven't built that one yet though.
>>24055526jiu lian is cute but her name unfortunately reminds me of some fuckass lemur
I feel like more people would grab the Shogun armor set to upgrade their Sourei/Shuremi than put it on a 30MF body.

>>24055563It seems to be their new direction after those complaints about having to buy the base class and assemble the same base body over and over. From gladiator set onward all the class up armor sets seem to include everything from that class plus the upgrade part so you could put them on any other base 30MF body without having to get the base class kit.

Isn't this the third iteration of this fucking abomination?
The HGUC Doven Wolf or Zaku III if you had to pick, both in terms of kits as well as the actual guys
Building my first ever RG and it fucking sucks.the ABS pre-built inner frame sucks and the rest of the parts are tiny as hell. I think post-WfM HGs are good and detailed enough that there's no point in making RG anymore.
Ok, second attempt at TR5 Gigantic Arms and just discovered this interesting detail. Bandai sculpted the shoulder peg with a tiny hole on the other side so you can put metal pins inside without having to drill it. Actually quite brilliant. It will last much longer with those huge arms now.
>>24055755HGUC Zaku III is one of the very first HGUC kits of the line. It is in every way extremely dated. You'll be happier with the Doven unless you really love the Zaku III.That said if you like the classic Zaku III the HGUC's sculpt isn't bad at all, but it needs work. It's made of seamlines and shallow molding and clamshells, but it can pretty up nicely.
>>24055756New RGs don't really use the pre-built inner frame. They just use intricate construction. I suggest the RG X-1, Impulse, or Nu/Hi Nu if you want to see how nice RG can be.
>>24055771>RG X-1way too tiny>Nu/Hi NuI dislike Nu/Sazabi slop. I'm interested in Zeong, but Bandai ver. has stock issues and got marked up to hell here, so I bought the 1/100 upscaled ver. instead. maybe RG Ez8 in the future..
>>24055776RG X-1 isn't that small. It's not like it's a Loto. As the model goes most normal sized MS are only a hair bigger than it practically, though it does have a few really small pieces if that's a problem. I never got Zeong but I bought it for a friend and he liked it. Not much experience in the others though from what I've seen any of the new releases share similar high quality construction to those I mentioned.
>>24055786Not that guy, but fine you sold me, I'll build the RG X-2 I have in my backlog today. Haven't ever found the X-1 in stock.
>try out Hobby Mio's masking tape for shits and giggles>they're surprisingly decentI hope this brand fucking succeeds
>>24055788Very based. RG X-2 has been haunting me on PB for a while. Definitely want it but also definitely don't need it so it's just waiting.Shoutout to their cloak particularly. A heavy wash on it makes it look fantastic. I do have some autistic quibbles with it though, mainly that it's bullshit the cloak isn't designed to interlock with the shoulder latches as it's supposed to. Feels like that wouldn't've been that hard to do with how it is already.
>>24055769I wish I could be dated...And alright, they both seemed like bulky Neo Zeon suits with obtrusive heads, albeit the Doven Wolf is newer and has more shit. The seamlines for the Zaku III were a bit depressing but I was ready to love it anyway, and I've been fencesitting on both of them for a while>Doven Wolf's an elite suit>but it's piloted by Rakan and Glemy supporters>whereas the Zaku III Custom is piloted by gigachad Mashymre... which is a more dated kit>I could just get the upcoming Hamma Hamma>or I'd have to pick between the basic III or the III customI love Neo Zeon suits but the second I start thinking about the Doven Wolf's role in ZZ I start getting unhappy
>>24055808If you think about the story then almost every UC MS is lame. What did Dijeh even do beside sitting on the Jabber?
>>24055808Go for the Doven now, Hamma Hamma when it comes out, and join everyone else in waiting for a Reboot Zaku III to happen. Alternatively, I mean, the Zaku III is fucking cheap. One of the cheapest HGUCs there is when it's reprinted. Not talking about kits you really gotta break the bank for here so I wouldn't worry a ton, yknow? Pick it up now, pick it up next year, whatever - pretty decent likelihood everything ZZ will reprint next year.
>>24055817You picked the other Zeta kit I was fenceshitting on. I'm the sort of person who goes for oddballs like the GP02 or Methuss (restock when) and so our definitions of lame might be different>>24055820>AoZI still have to get on that, picked up a Hazel pre-emptivelyAnd I don't wanna buy too many kits at one time, but it sounds like the Zaku III would be readily available, whereas the Doven Wolf is on a very slight sale locallyI was just gonna pick up the Zaku II FZ but I doubt some psychopath Mk II is going to nab all six of themWait shit I fucking forget that I hate Rakan for siding with >>>Glemy, AND for killing Mashymre. But the Doven Wolf's powerful?? FUCK
>>24055807That was a great idea with a big wash. Just used a big brush for panel liner and cleaned up a few pools.
>>24055840Hell fucking yeah brother. Exactly what I did with mine. It turns out so good for such a simple task. Looks dope and it'll look even better dried/matte coated.
>>24055842Didn't feel it as first, but then I started the brush strokes in the direction of the cloth and it started working better
>>24055845If you wanna take it one step further you can toss some highlights on the peaks of the ridges and work more of a gradient, but I found just whipping it in the tamiya black panel liner torture chamber looked good enough for me.
>got some enamel paint for brush painting >Has to wait for hours to apply the second coats because the paint lifts when new paint get applied >Check the internet, the brand I am using needs to wait 24 hours or more for further coatingDid I made a mistake?Should I just get some acrylic paint instead?Waiting for a day or more just to paint something less than 1 cm^2? You got to be joking?
>>24055808>Rakan's Zaku III kills consist solely of civvies in Dublin (the Dodai Kai knocked the GM III off Hayato's)>the Zaku III HG is dated shit>only gets one kill in Unicorn (a higher-spec Jegan, so that's neat) before getting wasted by the Unicorn >the Galluss-J is one big humiliation ritual across ZZ and Unicornit's harder to like Neo Zeon suits than it is to like Feddie suits
>>24053190Underpainting for hot rod flames. Im planning to do matte candy purple for the main armor color.I didn't expect the hovertank to be as big as it is, the hull mogs MGs in volume
>>24055884If you're doing small detailing then yeah, should've gone acrylic.
That manufacturer that made the big RG Crossbone is doing it in 1/100 now. I don't think there is much wrong with the current MG Crossbone other than the shitty hands.
>>24055731Another PGU Nu?
>>24055884Enamels are great for sensor lenses and single color small details. You only need to apply one coat with them when you have them at the proper consistency.
>>24055893You know the problem is not really waiting As someone who only paint missing colors and nothing else using masking and cans of lacquer, im currently making a kit with too many small panels to do what I usually do.And using acrylic just risk of having the paints flake off due to lack of adhesion- something enamel don't do. But damn waiting for stuff to cure to apply next coat paint is just annoying. Maybe there is a brand of acrylic that is as strong as enamel without the crazy wait time?
>>24055895I think almost all the joints on the MG Crossbones kinda suck. You can tighten them and get them to not suck as much for the limbs and all, but the 4 thrusters don't attach in a great way and there's only so much you can do. The elbow joints also look kinda ugly when you rotate them which is minor but could be better. Last real complaint is that a few areas could definitely be part separated like the yellow circles across it. Even at the time some of those felt lazy and they stand out more as time goes on for how popular the designs are.
>>24055902Wouldn't topcoat seal the paint anyway so it won't flake?
I was weak today...
>>24055847Ended up going down a detail painting rabbit hole... I swear I just intended to paint the knives and thruster bells. Also no idea why this second knife is painting to different, was worse before but I gave the paint a sanding then a second coat.
>>24055895Isn't their 1/100 crossbone comically out of scale?
>>24055971I don't know about the other one but at least the image in anon's post is decently close
>>24055972I might get it and do some comparisons. Love an excuse to build another crossbone. If it's super out of scale I just won't display it with the others.
>>24055945Nice. Silver detailing on X-2 is a patrician choice. Looks so good with its colours.
>>24055920NoThe top coat only does so much, it's not like resin casingYou still need a strong bond between the plastic and the base paint

>>24056026I keep the runner labels to use as plaplate later and throw away the rest
>>24056026over time I've started keeping clear runners. I've used some here or there for display parts. Sometimes I snip out long rods of normal runners and trim them up for scratchbuilding purposes, it's about as fine as any styrene rod.

The Chinese are getting better at not over complicating designs, but sometimes they take a step back, and you can't tell what the fuck is going on.
>>24056094individually all the parts look cool but they fail to creative a cohesive structure or a recognizable silhouette. overall the design doesnt really convey what it is either. I cant tell if this supposed to be a fast DPS guy or a bulky short range type

>>24056094like the colors at least

>>24053190Progress on the X-2. Realized the knives in the calves gave a good spot to push in some of this tungsten putty and get some weight down lower. Found this stuff off of a comment on one of Zach's videos. It's like 3x the density of Gunprimer's gravity stuff, but never dries so it's great for things like this or trying to figure out how much can fit.
>>24056150Yeah, my stuff is all unloved already built hguc models from ebay and I dont have leftover spruce to make goo from to unfuck the seam lines. If I ever do a kit from the box I will.
>>24056123Michael Bay
>>24056209If you wanna use all the parts of the buffalo, you can snip some of the pegs from the inside of parts to make sprue goo. I like the weathering, gonna keep going with the base?>>24056166Lookin cool and like it could take on the whole Death Gale team if Seabook was piloting itHaven't messed with that stuff, seems handy. A little more weight in the legs would help with striking more dynamic poses with the cloak on. It can be a bit top heavy and the thrusters can mess with the centre of balance just enough sometimes so a little more weight there and maybe in the belly would probably go a long way towards stand-less posing.
>>24056225Oooo, never thought to do that to make some goo, solid tip. I am planning to finish the base as it is another model for the rework of the Mobile Suit Gundam Battle System. Im going for the vibe of Australias Blue Mountains on this one amd a couple others im working on for my White Dingos squad. This is one of my Zaku 2 from the early days of the project when I was shaking off 10 uears of hobbyist rust.

Fug. I thought this thing was supposed to come out this November.
Strangely specific question, would anybody happen to know if the typical Mechanical Bust kits scale to 1/60 pretty well? I only have one 1/60 kit but I thought it would be neat to have one of these busts with it as sort of a companion piece, but I'm an absolute faggot when it comes to proper scaling. I got and built the Nu Gundam one years ago and while it is cool, knowing how large the Nu Gundam is I'm pretty sure the bust is slightly too small for 1/60, but others might not be.

>>24056344Next to a MG GM
>>24056350The building is simple but very intricate with layers to give depth to the suitThe inside of the head is a full clear piece and I have seen people already inserting LEDs to light up the visor
>>24056225For the putty stuff, the hard part is that RGs are pretty solid already so I was only able to add that to the legs and a tiny bit in the feet. Without the arms it's still falling backwards with the core fighter in. Maybe I can fit some in below the core fighter in the chest like you mentioned. I'm really interested in trying it in some top heavy HG with hollow feet. Probably would make a big difference there.
>>24056322I don't know much about them personally.
>>24056271I'll admit that I have always been the kind of ttg scum who is indifferent on doing bases before moving onto another model; but the paint and pose is done on it. I currently have 2 hover trucks that came with other bundles I picked up. Vehicles are going to be the biggest hurdle for the MSGBS as there are absolutely zero easy ways to get your hands on any of the OYW vehicles. Occasionally I'll see an overpriced hover truck print and a decently priced bundle of 5 Fed MBT's on amazon; but fuck me if theres any way to get a Magella outside of spending $150 on the EX 2 pack from ebay.

Copierd from other thread How do people paint shit like this? When you have a model kit where the shin area has separation and tou have to glue it or fill the gap with sprue glue and sand it down and fuse it together, then what??? because you need to have the other pieces it connects too already inside of it also. So how can you paint everything? I’m going insane trying to figure out how this happens or makes sense. Think knee joint being assembled and put inside of the leg which you now fused together. how do you paint all of this bevause tou can’t seperate itBasically what I’m asking is—- many kits tou need to fuse the two halves of something together or else it will look like shit even if it’s painted. So how the fuck do you fuse something together and rhen paint it when it now is connected to other shit which needs to be different colors?
>>24056482I spray the lighter color, mask it off with either tape or silly putty and then spray the rest. If I miss or fuck up in any way I'll just touch it up by hand with a brush or re-spraying. It's annoying but there's no other way

>>24056482That's a pretty realistic painting of Albert Einstein you've got there.
>>24056482Mask it in sections. I generally tend to paint the stuff inside first, install then mask, before doing any welds.
>>24056482Sometimes you can cut the inner parts out in a way that you'll be able to place them back for final assembly and maybe glue them in if needed. Or just turn the seam line into a panel line with a scribing tool
>>24056491>>24056490>>24056485For example I’m talking about older kits like the zaku 1 from 2006. Would you paint the knee joint first, and then put it in the shin/lower leg armor, fuse the leg together, and then paint the leg? It just seems light a nightmare even for a simple kit.
>>24056493Yeah, that's how I'd approach it. Fichtenfoo's very old tutorial explains the method well.
