Dandivine starts in a couple weeks

Who is going to be subbing it?
>>
>>24030055
I saw it got a manga tie-in that began today. I doubt anyone is gonna translate it though.
>>
>Beast King War God Dandivine is an upcoming original Japanese anime television series created by Good Smile Company and Liden Films, and the first project in Good Smile Company's "The God of Combined Series", to commemorate its 25th anniversary.
If, for no reason in particular, the sponsor of this anime happened to operate an image board with a dedicated mecha section, shouldn't it be in their best interest to promote the series?
>>
>>24030419
Don't worry, duel will do his best to make no-one want to discuss this
>>
>>24030419
Is it supposed to be very tangentially connected to dancouga?
>>
>>24030422
The Duel strawman is already being used to dismiss any criticism of Vertex Force
>>
>>24030419
If you are implying there is a marketing shill thread, there are like 10 people on /m/ total that look at anything other than Gundam threads or generals at this point
Regardless this anime is going to get discussed either way purely because of its writer. Assuming someone translates it of course.
>>
>>24030055
Bravern got official release on Netflix or Crunchyroll or something. This is basically the same production fashion so it's going to get the same thing in the US. Official multicast.
>>
>>24030908
Crunchyroll did not sub the Dandevine trailer like they did for Bravern. There's no evidence they're doing it.

Moot received an offer to buy the website from an unnamed "japanese toy company" back in 2005.

Why does he always do that non-sequitor into bringing up another series unprompted
>>
The main character gives way more of a hot-blooded vibe in the manga tie in compared to what we’ve seen of the anime.
>>
>>24031233
Is anyone translating it? I'd like to check it out myself
>>
>>24031250
Isn't the manga MC something like an older relative to the protagonists in the show?

hopefully no homo shit like bravern and star driver
>>

Where do you think you are?
>>
>>24031579
Its a prequel, right? One of the characters listed in the show is the original Dandivine pilot and said to be the uncle of the protagonist.
>>
>>24032144
Yeah, it seems so, the artsyle also reminds me of that god-unbreaker mecha manga that got axed months ago, wonder it it's the same artists.

Yeah as it seems It's not being broadcasted by TBS nor Sony's own channel animax.

Linden is owned by Kodokawa albeit. If it gains enough traction it might be on Crunchyroll because Witch Hat Artelier was and that's also Kodokawa.

First ep was... okayish, I guess.
The mecha CG was alright but the environmental CG and the 2D was subpar as fuck.
Like, holy shit, we're at the point where Gaiking LoDM from over twenty years ago which infamously had no sponsors and was rushed from pre-planning to airing in three months genuinely had better animation, cinematogaphy, choreography, direction and whatnot in its first episode than this.
Still gonna keep watching it, hoping that it gets better, since there are some aspects that might get interesting like the
>see that "Takeshi Jamada was just a normal high school student..." shit? That crap is BOOORING!
stuff and the toy company angle.
>>
>>24041733
That's because LoDM was made by and involved skilled people that actually gave a shit and cared about Super Robots; you can overcome shit budget and schedules with passion to a surprisingly large extent.
>>
>>24041737
Man, I need to access my old PC again since I think I still have the notes I took from the old LoDM staff interviews on it.
IIRC it really WAS a case of "we have more or less negative time and budget - let's make the best fucking thing we can!" and the staff loved the original Gaiking and its design so much that not using the NEO one wasn't really a matter of it being too complex but sheer respect for the OG.
>>
God this was bad.
Not one original idea in the whole episode.
Premise, robot, setting and animation, we've all seen way better.
So much for the hype train on this one.
>>
I take it back. Faggots would have at least been more entertaining than what we’re getting
>>
>>24041749
>>24041766
Toshiki Inoue is a washed up writer.
>>
it;s somehow weaker than vertex force and meza's first ep.
>>
>>24041773

>>
>>24041808
Not a high bar. Ive seen ants do a running leap over that bar
>>
>>24041798
MJP had way higher overall quality even in its first episode.
This one was dull and zero budget as fuck to the point where I genuinely want to know just what the hell happened behind the scenes.
GSC is basically the king when it comes to retro mecha toys and model kits, digging out IPs that most of /m/ has never even heard of (and in some cases, most of current day Japan), their staff has genuine passion about that stuff, they have high profile people working for them, they, along with Takara Tomy, have multiple toys for Dandivine in the oven, they promoted the show quite a lot and IIRC already have plans for more shows in the upcoming years...and yet they ended up dropping this not even quarter-assed dud that feels like something went seriously wrong.

>>
>>24042047
You're fucking annoying too, acting like it's all over and the work will have a tragic ending just because the MC isn't coming back so soon.
>>
>>24042052
I know it's not going to have a tragic ending (because I have read the manga up to it's current point and also know what it's fucking title is), that doesn't make the poorly executed and farcical current arc (and it's eventual resolution) any less contrived, hollow, and banal.
>>
>>24042052
the fact that it's not going to stick just makes it all the worse. Not that I want it to be tragic, but we spent more than half a year on shit that goes nowhere.
>>
>>24042074
Technically we've spent all year on shit that goes nowhere, pretty much. None of the actually interesting shit built up towards or shown before this year has had any progress at all (learning anything at all about what Silver's deal is, the Kizuna Five actually entering into the main plot, or why the Demon Queen (and even the other final bosses, for that matter) are the way they are, as just a few examples). Meanwhile all we have gotten is a bunch of very boring and absolutely ridiculous new antagonists that you really cannot take the fights against seriously due to their very nature (and who have added nothing at all to the story or any of the characters except banal drama and misery shit), a bunch overwrought despair porn for pretty much all of the protagonists (Yihdra most of all) and some honestly extremely vague bullshit about the past of the final bosses in the flashback that happens in chapter 54. This entire year doesn't really contribute anything at all to the story or characters unless you're a sadistic douchebag that gets off on seeing characters you supposedly like and want to be happy suffer and get traumatized for life.
>>
Pretty weak first episode but I can't ignore the big titty blonde villainess and construction worker Ryoma uncle, this show is gonna deliver one way or another.

>>
>>24042296
For a toy show the human characters don't really seem like very toyetic designs. Like the money would be in the robot but these guys don't really seem like action figure material. They look like they'd be better suited in some high school club anime.
>>
>>24042306
I would jokingly say to blame the Gridman anime, but even they (especially the Dynazenon characters) had at least some panache to their designs. But yeah, having a more flashy/stylish and distinctively designed MC like Guy or Daiya from LoDM that was mentioned earlier would help a lot to make it feel more like a proper Super Robot toy commercial show.

It reminds me less of a super robot protagonist and more like something you'd get out of of Asyra Crying or some moody 2000s show. And that's not to say that super robot shows need a certain type of hero. They don't HAVE to be hot blooded youths in bright colored jumpsuits but it doesn't hurt to play to type. I look at this trio and you know what comes to mind? Kanazuki no Miko.

I know it's the first episode but I feel like there's a lot of conflicting ideas and elements that aren't gelling. The idea of a super robot toy marketing team trying to make their big robot more profitable is kind of interesting. There's almost something Dai-Guard-esque if they put more focus on the marketing side of things and it's got the whole meta commentary about kids not liking robot shows anymore. The big rub I have is the MC, who is just not very interesting and it doesn't make him less interesting when the show calls out how uninteresting he is. I liked Uncle Ryoma but he's going to have to pass the robot on sooner rather later. It's just kind of hard to get a read.

They seem really proud of this trio and I'm really confident they probably designed them first and they fell into a robot show.
>>
>>24042306
With the unreliable dad and uncle characters I feel like they may be testing the waters with the fujoshi/bara fan market, which while that's a reasonable business decision (See Digimon Beatbreak and how Naito who only shows up in one arc has the best selling merchandise) there's gotta be more to their designs.

Conversely they seem to have been intentionally taking the piss with a couple of the character designs, namely "Ruri Hoshino but with one fewer twintail"
>>
>>24043151
I wonder if the purple bishounen who was present on the latest key visual will make the series more popular when he shows up as well.
>>
>>24043151

I raised an eyebrow at the in-universe commentary that kids don't want toy robots anymore. Considering this sponsored by Toy Companies and is supposed to be merchandise driven.
>>
>>24043456
That shouldn't be surprising given how stupidly meta the show is at a base

>>24043456
You clearly don't get how anime works. This is a late night broadcast, no kids is watching this. Dandivine is an adult collectible.
>>
>>24043462
Its been pointed out repeatedly that the idea of kids not liking toy robots is confirmation bias
The only company even trying to target children with mecha anymore is Takara, and they've been more successful than pretty much everyone else in bringing mecha to the market.

That is not true in the least. Japan has an obsession with the teenage years as before University is the last time somebody has personal freedom in their culture.

Almost everything has protagonists in their teenage years. Everything coming out from that country from music to games to anime.
>>

I don't know why GSC decided to cheap out on the studio. Like, why even bother with all the bell and whistles if it's animated like shit? The least they could do is get one of old-time /m/ staff in supervising position but they didn't even do that.
Based on the aesthetics, voice actress and scriptwriter it's obvious they want this to be some sort of hybrid of ssss gridman and bravern, but I don't think this studio could pull of drama scenes as well as trigger, and inoue can be really unfunny when left unchecked (none of these young staff will say no to him).
>>
>>24047494
I really don't think a company would cheapen out on a production on purpose, saying "why didn't they just hire big people to make a good show?" is a bit naive but companies also make retarded decisions so it's anyone's guess.
>>
>>24047543
I know that. Maybe they don't have enough connection, maybe the ip being new and uncertain made it hard to secure big studios, maybe their calculation shows it's more profitable to do it this way than build the ip off smaller works etc I get that. But it's not my problem, I don't wanna watch a shoddily animated mecha anime by a no name director.
>>
>>24047574
Now I'm not going to pretend Dandivine is going to save mecha but only watching shows made by people you know is how the genre stagnates and dies.

>who the fuck is animating this, anyway?

At least Arc still had its Ishikawa artstyle as something positive while this is generic, borderline amateurish tripe.

Anon, the show so far have not dwelled much on how the general populous actually treats the old pilot, aside from the hair bangs operator who knows who he is and correctly expected him to be piloting the robot and his own family from the perspective of the bland MC, we don't even know if he is a construction worker by his own choice. Not nothing, mind you, but it's kinda bad when there were only two original IPs in the entire past decade to come out and not be immediately forgotten or ignored. One of those is Shinkalion and the other is Bravern, both of them themselves heavily referential of older shit.
Hell, here you are in a thread about a show that also seems to be hearkening back to the mecha of yesteryear. No one wants anything new, it is what it is

Seems like his arc is revolving around him stopping to be just so middle of the road and non-committal about literally everything since he does actually seem to be bothered by Akane breaking up given his following of her.

I wonder if the others will become co-pilots though since they 3 are featured heavily in the promo-shot, and OP seems to imply purple hair is a pilot of a new robot.

Not at all, I'm here trying to keep up with a show, obviously, although I admit I haven't even watched a single episode of Dandevine so far. Based on the responses in this thread, this show is also going to be forgotten, for better or worse. It already missed its chance when it didn't come out strong on the first episode, so it doesn't matter if it ends up good later.

I'm probably the biggest Back Arrow stan on /m/, and I also liked Garandoll quite a bit. See any threads for them lately? This isn't about me. This is about the fact that the mecha fandom as a whole has no interest in new IPs. Even this season the best received show so far seems to be the fucking Rayearth remake. It's a sad state of affairs.

So is the company just milking the dumb ayylmao girls (or whatever they are) who summon the enemy robots? That's the impression I got from the second episode. >>
>>24051220
Like I feel there's a good formula hidden somewhere here. Like here's an idea off the cuff
>MC Is boring as fuck because he doesn't want people to know what a fanboy he was. But lets loose when he's piloting almost as if he's a different person.
>Crazy Uncle realizes this and pushes him to be more honest.
>Dumb Bitch who wanted him to show some personality gets her wish but is now here to make straight man comments while everyone starts geeking out Gekiganger style
>Toy designers are secretly weapons technicians who keep building new gear/toys like that one chick from DaiGuard
>Villain trio end up going all DECULTURE
Mix in some secret plots and twists and you got a show. Maybe some of this will happen, maybe anything will happen but as of two episodes the only thing we got out of anyone is bunch of bland japanese EEEEEHs. Like maybe another look at the main villain would have been nice.
>>
>>24050917
>>24050914
It's the Aldnoah Zero formula. Inaho is the most boring mecha protagonist you could possibly conceive. Who the fuck thought that character was a good idea?
>>
>>24051253
I'm reminded a bit of Buddy Complex. Everything was just so rote and formulaic that somehow even a show about time cucking manages to be one of the dullest most personality devoid shows I think I've seen. And even that had a hook about time cucking to at least catch the viewers attention.

This got me thing about first episodes in general. A good first episode has a lot to do and doesn't really have a lot of time do it. Most importantly, I feel, it has to set a good impression of the characters and or world. It doesn't need to spell everything out but at the very least it's meant to tell us why we should care. I can't say that DanDevine had a very good first episode but to illustrate what I think does I went back and rewatched the first episode of Dai-Guard and it was night and day as to what we know of DG compared to DD. Just a few notes.

>A long time ago monsters fucked shit up and they had to use extreme measures to stop it. Ibuki saw this as a young child first hand. Clearly a potential character arc.
>After the first one monsters never resurfaced. The robot made to fight them never saw use and was sold off to a private defense corp to recoup development costs. People see Dai-Guard as a joke.
>Main three pilots and there central personalities and chemistry are established. Akagi is impulsive and a bit childish. Aoyama is vain but more cool headed. Ibuki is the level headed mediator but as seen in the flashback got stuff boiling.
This was all in the first SEVEN FUCKING MINUTES by the way.
>The board of directors is up to shit. The mysterious commander is plotting something.
>Monsters are back! Holy shit. They're caused by some dimensional quake bullshit.
>Akagi and Ibuki are quick to rush in because of their personalities, Aoyama acts a voice of reason but still jumps to action suggestion a good conscience deep down.
>Dai-Guard kind of sucks at fighting so the heroes need to get creative.
>Other characters like the military are introduced.

Dai-Guard had 26 episodes to develop it's cast and story and had no real villain to speak of but that was a lot of action in one episode. And honestly you'd think a shorter show would move at a faster pace information wise but we're two episodes in and don't know dick.
>>
>>24051253
>>24051257
Nah, here the fact that the mc is boring is brought up in the show itself and even used as part of serious conflict (his girlfriend thinking he doesn't really care about her because he's nice all the time and seems fine with everything but never seems overly enthusiastic). It's attempting a self-aware narrative but just went with a dumb idea in the first place.
>>
>>24051274
Self awareness is fine when done well but it really only works if you have something to be self aware of. What are they even on about here? Nadesico was self aware as a major plot element but it used that build a story. Gekiganger while seeming like a dumb little parody ends up adding to the tragedy of things. This is
>MC is boring
>Girlfriend: YOU ARE BORING!

>>24050861
This is very strange. They talk about it like it's the first entry in some sort of long term plan to reignite interest in mecha as a whole.

I dunno much about Korea, but Chinks love giant robots. The reason Transformers didn't completely fizzled out after Bayformers and beyond is because the Chinks basically carried the IP's popularity. The general audience, mind you. Not nerdy fans

>>
>>24052142
Is the MC reluctant? He seems more taken aback and surprised more than he seems hesitant to act. In fact it doesn't seem like he had much of a reaction to anything. Like seriously, he was just in a life or death battle aboard giant robot fighting a monster. Anyone should be having an adrenaline rush that would have them amped up for days but he's back to school like it never happened. "Huh oh yeah I did do that. It was something alright."

The funniest thing about aldnoah zero is urobuchi only wrote like three episodes and the rest are done by the guy who does the screenplay for boku no pico.
>>
Goodsmile probably told Inoue to make the protagonist a plain everyman that the average Otaku could self-insert into. But, Inoue being Inoue, he probably decided to take the piss at them by making the most boring and least interesting MC he could come up with. He literally came out and said that the MC's never gonna get interesting.
>>
It's blatantly obvious this anime is a shitpost. There's no way you guys don't see that, right? I know the average /m/ poster has severe autism and can't understand anything unless spelled out for them, but Episode 2 may as well have had scrolling red text on screen saying "can you believe they paid me to write this?"
Doesn't make it any better or interesting and I don't think the average anime watcher is looking forward to 3-5 episodes of bland stuff before anything of note happens. If anything happens, this will end up as one of those "it sucks for X episodes BUT THEN!" shows, of which there used be plenty of during the 2000s. I don't have any hopes or expectations for it, and I cannot fathom what fanboy picked Inoue of all people to write what is supposed to be the first entry in a series, unless they already have the second entry being made right this moment. If they're expecting this to sell enough for another entry I think they're going to eat shit pretty badly.
>>24051653
I don't know why people keep forgetting time is a real thing.
Inoue from 1996 isn't Inoue from 2026. I love most of his original works but what he's done in the last few years has barely anything to do with his initial output. Being on a leash has nothing to do with it, the guy stopped caring about anything.

I get it - using a 3d model that's literally the same as the toy sounds like a good idea on paper and gets the most on model design but man it's so soulless
>>
>>24052201
I liked both, but the overall atmosphere of that was quite far from Changerion or Mikazuki (though that may have been Keita's influence). This is even farther out from it. Jiro's entire character was my favorite part of it other than the comedy, and Dandivine has been landing the comedy for me, though I know it's absolutely not for everyone.
>>24052360
It absolutely is, that's why I'm not expecting a "Madoka episode 3" moment to happen. If the animation quality was better, maybe. But it feels very cheap.
>>24052485
I think it's a matter of execution. There are few things more upsetting to me regarding /m/ toys than it being offmodel and/or not being able to move like the show it's from. Dandivine just kind of sucks.
>>
>>24052533
Changerion sucked though.
>>
I think its improving, but feels too slow paced, even for me

New robot looks really cool
>>
>>24052129
I'd argue it's a self made problem. If you don't make anything worth caring about no one is gonna care. During the mecha boom people made tons of great shows that are still remembered today(and a lot of trash that is mostly forgotten) but today even established franchises don't put in the same effort they used to, never mind new shows. Of course kids won't care, why should they?
>>
>>24053756
There's not much new mecha stuff for kids Made by japanese companies outside takaratomy to being with.
>>
>>24053799
I think the mindset that things need to be made specifically for kids is part of the problem, rather than aiming to make things people of any age(including kids) might enjoy. The idea that since something "for kids" it needs to be dumbed down and lesser is part of the problem.
>>
>>24053833
he's probably talking about time slots and such
>>
>>24053833
That's not really something the average Japanese toy commercial suffers from compared to the average westoid one
>>
>>24051805
>I guess it's better than say something like Aquarion MOE
lmaoooo moe is significantly more entertaining and interesting
>>
>>24053756
It's important to remember all costs ballooned since then, and a lot of the series during the mecha boom benefited from strong yen or the bubble at its peak. Now they're not doing that good and every company is chasing Disney-level profits for some reason. Even making a genuinely good show with lots of effort has a higher chance of "flopping" due to costs and expected profits being below "infinite money".
Dandivine itself only exists because GSC has a shitload of money from pushing nendoroids of literally anything and price hiking all their shit a few years ago. Everybody else, assuming they're interested in making mecha, simply do not have the money or qualified personnel to even start production.
>>
>>24053837
It did had some interesting ideas, but the execution was not entertaining in the slightest.

>>24052624
You and this show suck. Rayearth was gonna be the best /m/ show this season anyway, but I did not expect it's main 'competition' to be essentially self-sabotaged.
>>
>>24030055
how many anime have this same character design?
>>
>>24054072
They remind me of the screencap of that one guy who wore a white button-down shirt and black pants like Whatshisname from Dimeadozensliceoflifeanime as cosplay to a convention and then complained on Twitter that no one knew who he was.

To be perfectly blunt, if this keeps going like that it might be THE worst post 2000 super robot show, imo.

Every single other turd at least has some redeeming qualities.
G Dangaioh? Each episode when looked at in a selfcontained vacuum is actually pretty alright and if the rumors are true that they did each one in a week then hats off
Fuuun Ishin Daishogun? May have absolutely horrendous PowerPoint-tier animation and goes nowhere but the character art is really good and the robots are cool
Olynssis? Had a better setting and you could laugh at Hirai's designs on a Toei budget
Captain Earth? WAY better animation and bellies
Rouran? Has some neat robot designs and wacky shit like entering your mech by getting grabbed by a giant hand that comes out of the robot's boob
Franxx? Gave us Pochincoff-fodder

This genuinely has nothing, absolutely NOTHING going for it.
the story: jumps between multiple plot-threads without giving a reason to care for any of them, with the most interesting angle, the toy company one, being borderline negligible so far
the characters and their designs: dull garbage you've seen before and don't want to ever see again
the CGI: subpar, corner-cutting (let's be honest, the Ring is just there so they don't have to render anything and if they could they'd probably flat out turn this into Webdiver 2.0 in the blink of an eye) and often looks like as if it was rendered on a 3DS like when Dandivine slides backwards after the combination
the actual art and animation: fucking laughable to the point where even Knack would've been ashamed of it
Dandivine's design: strangely unappealing, overdetailed and with nothing iconic and outstanding about it besides the centaur part of the combination sequence

The whole thing feels like as if they just threw a bunch of tropes and stuff about super robots that got explained to them through post-it notes written in a different language at the wall of the cheapest studio they could find, hoping that something sticks.
>>
>>24054219
I feel like there could be ways to make The Ring work better. GGG's Dividing Driver was effectively the same thing but it had a lot more WOW to it and they used the thing in a lot of different ways. But here it's just a wrestling ring without the energy of a wrestling match.
>>
great, the "LE EBIN TRAINWRECKZ" retards are here
>>
>>24054244
Something needs to have been on the rails in the first place to become a trainwreck dude, this is just people calling it out on being bad from the start.

>>24054244
Or maybe some people have fucking standards, as low as they may be.
If the show really is just 12-13 eps long then it already wasted a quarter of its runtime - this isn't "How do you know it's shit? It's not even out yet" this is the turd already sticking out of the asshole of the guy shitting on the plate and you knowing that he definitely needs more meat in his diet.
>>
>>24054219
because this anime is le 4th wall joke on the industry.
>>
>>24054272
With the Moderoid kits and The Gattai toys in the bargain bin section 60% off being the punchline.
>>
>>24052200
>riku sanjo
The short Gaiking LoDM discussion we had earlier in the thread actually made me think of him, since that (alongside many other things in his resume) shows that he is a fantastic choice for something that you want to have authentically feel like a good children's toy commercial anime.
>>
>>24054288
>meanwhile, Inoue made the fucking hippo episodes
>>
>>24054303
I will admit that I don't remember those ones too well, but I don't think they were any different from Inoue's usual fare when he comes to write an episode or two for something else, which is to say "I hope you like/are at least okay with absurdist comedy", which I generally don't mind. Better than something like when Inoue has to write for characters that he wasn't personally involved in creating and building up, like a lot of the early 2000s Heisei KR movies, where they end up feeling kind of... off, to put it one way.
>>
>>24054308
Those were the eps where everyone was exhausted and hallucinating that pink hippos where everywhere.
It's also where a bunch of characters got random backstories that in hindsight made you question the actions of the bad guys.Franklin, the doctor of the Dakuu Maryuu was once a tailor, Daimon the engineer a homeless hippy who sang about protecting the nature, etc. which begs the question why the fuck Emperor Darius would even kidnap the former to build giant robots for him - for sewing Dolman's cape?!
>>
I'm not sure I'd call it the worst series post-2000... you guys are forgetting some of the absolutely dog water of the 2010s - Comet Lucifer, Sora to Umi no Aida, Build Divers, etc.
but it's definitely in the bottom 3/4.
>>
>>24054312
Never watched Sora, but Comet Lucifer and Build Diver had much better animation than this at least. Even directing I'd say was better too (although none of those two are really what I'd call good in that sense, they're still clearly better than this)

Oh fuck off. Divers was fun. You've been in a retarded crusade for that one years now.
>>
>>24054312
>Build Divers

can't be worse than Build Fighters Try
>>
>>24054337
I am a crossbone fanboy (that one Match still makes me seethe) and i enjoy masturbating to Ayame so i prefer build divers 1 over try.
>>
Both build divers and Try had a few moments with heart and some of the staff trying to make something.
I liked Build Divers but it's just average at best. I disliked Try but it did have some good things about it. But this? What is this? Vertex Force which seems to have a smaller budget has better shading for its CGI. All CGI robots need shading.
>>
>>24054311
Okay, so it was the usual Inoue Special that you get from calling him in to do an episode or two
>>
>>24054377
Yeah, Build Divers was painfully average--it felt like it was trying to recapture the magic of the original Build Fighters series, but it felt... I dunno, hollow? Combined with the shit pacing after the Break Decal arc concluded, and it was painfully forgettable, especially compared to its sequel, Build Divers Re:RISE.
>>
So when I remembered Slash Unicorn had a cockpit seat as some form of training wheels for Gekiha to feel comfortable as Dandivine's pilot, it makes me think that Blaze Phoenix and Magna Titan should have cockpits too. The other young main cast should eventually pilot the Divine Beasts by midpoint (Kirei pilots Slash Unicorn, Akane with Blaze Phoenix, and Go with Magna Titan) once the latter two get in on Gekiha's secret.

DAMMIT, I CAN'T FUCKING TYPE AGAIN!
>>
>>24054554
I mean was that not what the intro sequence was already implying?
>>
You know what's really clawing in the back of my head? This is almost guaranteed to show up in Super Robot Wars.
>>
>>24054605
The question is: Real SRW, or DD/whatever mobage replaces it in probably about a year?
>>
>>24054605
Probably not, this isn't affiliated with bandai in any way.
>>
>>24054288
That W manga is also still as consistently good as the original show. I don't like it for visual reason but that's not the writer's fault.
>>

I don't like it
>>
Gave it a chance, and at 3 episodes, I'm not into it. Ep 3 had me cringing so hard, and that's the only real emotion I've gotten out of it.
>>
I had broken my rule and ordered THE GATTAI before the show aired... if I knew how mediocre the show was, I would have waited until the end.
For all the good things about it (articulation, gimmicks), GSC made some absolutely retarded decisions with the biggest offender being the wrists on a single peg that doesn't have enough friction to actually hold its sword in anything other than a straight vertical position (and it can only do that because it relies on the sag of the forearms and the gattling gimmick for leverage with gaps)
>>
>>24055484
At least you know not to pre-order toys from now on.
>>
>>24054574
They need to at the very least have interspecial sex to even BEGIN to turn this whole franchise around.
>>
Is anyone still watching this garbage? I dropped it because the characters are unlikeable
>>
>>24054574
Doesn't seem to be the case at first glance, because Kirei and Go are not in the opening.

Given the fact nothing has happened by episode 3 and this is apparently 13 episodes, with this pacing I doubt that will be done well.
>>24054742
Me neither. The CG models actually really suck. I don't know if it's lack of shading, all the fucking lines, or how overdesigned it feels, but I can barely tell what it looks like, it doesn't have that "clear shape" that helps set robots apart. Even that dogshit known as Kuromukuro can be identified from a distance and quickly doodled correct.
>>
GSC should just fund an eldora spinoff and release like 10 minutes short of them fighting monsters every week and it would be better than whatever the fuck dandivine is trying to be

Dandivine so far is bland and all over the place. I hate the MC so much and wish he gets written off the show, let his uncle take over and maybe it's salvageable
