Two or three of you might remember Synduality EoA, Bamco's ill fated attempt at a PvPvE mecha extraction shooter with P2W elements and microtransactions that completely flopped
Not surprisingly, they've announced that after a year and a half it has an end of service date and is transitioning into a fully offline game
    https://synduality-ada.bn-ent.net/#info_offline
    >>
Finally that 2 bucks may finally be worth something. maybe the game will finally even be playable.
    >>
    >>24029929
So WHY did /m/ let this masterpiece fail? The only thing you consumer class nerds are good for is supporting value generating ip . And you fucking idiots couldn’t even do That. Go play gundam like the losers you are
    >>
    >>24030085
    >masterpiece
    >>
    >>24030085

    >So WHY did /m/ let this masterpiece fail?

Because most of /m/ was turned off by the game being "Tarkov but with mecha".
    >>
The anime was decent. The game was trash.
    >>
    >>24030085
    I don’t play video games.
    >>
    >>24030085
You think the 20 people on /m/ could save some multi million dollar video game?
    >>
From the outside, most of its flaws seemed to be around the cruddy multiplayer. It might be a much better game without it so long as they don't just crudely shut off anything online related.
    >>
Nice it's being completely taken down at least.
    >>24030288
It's Scamco, I expect the bare minimum effort.
    >>
    >>24030296
    *not
    >>
    >>24030288
    >as they don't just crudely shut off anything online related.
The director has said that raids won't be available in an offline form, which potentially means that some end game frame parts won't be acquirable
    >>
    >>24030205
This, I'd have been down with it if it were some Xenoblade Chronicles X-alike or some shit where you build your mechs, Synduality as a series had some pretty neat ideas after all, I just give no fucks at all about extraction shooters.
    >>
    >>24030264
Obviously, that's why A.I. companies totally want to steal our very valuable data.
    >>
Are they still gonna finish that Ciel swimsuit figure?
    >>
    >>24030085
Extraction shooters are lame, even if you can customize a cute chick and drive around a robot trashcan. Should have made a proper single player game first and foremost and maybe slapped a multiplayer side mode on instead of falling for live service memes.
    >>
    >Walking toilet as mecha, designed by Gyobu
    >No one cared about the anime when it was aired
    >Brought nothing new to the mecha genre since it looked like every random cgi mecha slop in the last 20 years
I'm surprised that this shit lasted that long.
    >>
    >>24030085
I want to build fun mechs; not forced to use shitty parts just to not get ganked. Also, while I didn't waste them, others with the special bonus parts lost theirs when they got ganked, and no easy way to get them back.
    >>
Maybe it'll be a fun game now that you won't come across some random asshole with a sniper rifle that'll one shot your trashcan no matter where it hits.
    >>
    >>24031687
The anime was well liked though.
    >>
Huh, maybe I'll install the game now then. I bought the standard version when it was like 2 bucks like a year ago.
    >>
Just got it off Humble Bundle for $4. I'm looking forward to the offline PVE update. I wanted to buy it on release but reviews turned me off. I will be back to discuss it in May.
    >>
    >>24032323
    >>24033166
I feel like extraction shooter mechanics are demonstrably poison to most games that aren't tarkov when you see that even selling for 2 bucks wasn't enough to get people to play it. The threat of getting sniped and losing progress is so obviously negative that it's not even worth 2 dollars. The game being almost free generated less buzz for it than it going offline.
    >>
    >>24032323
    >>24033166
    >>24030288
it's basically pve already, i played some recently and hardly ever encountered other players
the big problem is the endgame area with the best loot is pve-only (can't hurt other players) so the enemy density/difficulty is tuned for cooperation
doing runs in this area is grueling on your own and mostly consists of kiting and avoiding fights
maybe they will tweak it, but idk
    >>
    >>24030085
honestly I was only barely aware of it through seeing the kits and assumed it was some gacha game bullshit so I never paid it much mind.
I liked ARC Raiders for a while and I like nuMarathon so had I known it was an extraction I would've given it a shot sooner. I'm going to do as >>24033166 anon did and pick it up on humble bundle to at least give it a try.
    >>
    >>24029929
    >Not surprisingly, they've announced that after a year and a half it has an end of service date and is transitioning into a fully offline game
Good, maybe then it'll be playable.
    >>
    >>24029929
What does the campaign of this game look like?
    >>
    >>24035723

Gameplay's the same, but instead of collecting AO crystals (the mineral needed to be traded for what you need for food, clothing, and a roof on your head), your Magus (the robot supporter of this franchise) has to scan for surveilance logs, and you're to collect them. The surveillance logs hodl information that pertain to why Amasia was destroyed.

If you watched Synduality: Noir, Amasia was this underground city-state created after the Tears of the New Moon, a catastrophe where the substance Blueschist destroyed civilization. Amasia's destruction in 2222 is a mystery to those who fled because a century after Amasia's founding, people living there had enough of the authoritarianism and fled to the surface, where it wasn't as bad as the Tears of the New Moon (provided there's no Blueschist rain showers) and made domed cities like Rock Town.
    >>
    >>24035793

Meant "The surveillance logs hold information that pertain to why Amasia was destroyed".
    >>
    >>24035723
what the other anon said, but worth noting that these missions have fixed mech, weapon, item loadouts (includng your anime girl. it will keep her cosmetics and voice set, but she will have the ability chosen by the mission). basically you can't use your own stuff in the story missions, but there is unique dialogue so pick the anime girl you want to hear saying it (you can have several for free by completing the main game quests, i recommend "cradle support" and "weather gazer," happy to expand on this -- it's a major part of gameplay)
story missions are gradually unlocked in small batches by completing the quests in the main game. this may change in pve update
you can replay them if you don't find all the logs, but it's pretty easy to find them all if you explore all the paths. you can find a spare battery in the missions for extra time if needed (mech battery is mission timer)
there is no extraction in story missions. you follow the mission path to the end
right now, the main game is essentially pve anyway, you hardly ever see another player. ai enemies aren't difficult to learn (most have one attack) but do hit hard when you have low level mech parts
    >>

I complaint about this franchise I found here in /m/ (at the least) is the design of the Craddle Coffin. How do you think it should have been designed while still maintaining it's to be operated by two (the human Drifter and his or her Magus)?
    >>
    >>24032149
    No it wasn't.

    >Walking toilet as mecha, designed by Gyobu
Don't know who or what Gyobu is but I like the mecha designs being less than just humanoid, functionally being basically just headless Knightmares. Especially the picrel appeals to my tastes.

    >>24051003
If you want to be spicy, what Darling in the Franxx did. Otherwise, what Zegapain did. Either way, instead of having the Magus stuck in a backpack, have the torso accomodate a longer, 2 person cockpit. That's about it. Anyway, I really don't like that the Coffins can't perform in nominal capacity without pilot being joined at the hip with the waifubot or husbandobot (or a daddybot, in some cases).

    >>24051006
I'm getting to the halfway point and so far it's been basically Persona feat. Semi Giant Robots. Even though the post apoc setting and semi constant field trips make it seem more like Metaphor: ReFantazio feat. Semi Giant Robots, the mood seems far too casual and not somber enough for that. I can see why modern audience would enjoy something like this although I find some characters, or maybe rather character interactions, just grating.

I doubt Craddles were meant to be hyper-tall in the first place, otherwise, it wouldn't be a fair fight against Enders, with Enders at a disadvantage against taller opponents (lest its a Incubator or Marauder). That's another thing: did Ippei Gyobu even discuss why he designed Craddles the way he did it in the first place?

Gyoubu's designs are fine when he's trying to keep it pretty restrained like the Grimoire or Shiden but the more freedom he gets, the more it ends up just being misses for me

    >endgame area with the best loot is pve-only
Dunes is tough when you first explore it but it's not so bad when you learn the map except for those giant enders. Offline players are going to have to learn to avoid them since they're huge bullet sponges for multiple players to team up against unless you overload yourself with ammo. They'll probably nerf them but if they don't it's better to just run from them.
    >enemy density
The other PvE map they added (polluted forest) is so much worse with the ghost hordes and bosses that spawn next to you in dark foggy mazes they nerfed it multiple times by season 5. Not worth farming loot in this map since its so harsh and you're supposed to chain kills for ender buster rewards instead

    >a fully offline game
So, are they going to make a game that's actually worth playing or are they just going to gut whatever multiplayer specific features it has and make it run using your pc as a local server, and that's it? Wouldn't mind if they made it actually playable, kind of enjoying the anime so far and wouldn't mind a proper game in that setting.

Even the basic bitch shitboxes can look alright with a proper coat of paint.

Mook GILBOWs looked cool, shame they showed only once and all they did was job to show how supa stronk the protag has become.
    >>
Still, definitely my favorite design in the show. I wonder if it's (or rather will be?) in the game. Haven't seen it on the list of usable parts on the wiki.

If Syn: Noir (at the least) is in a Super Robot War, would Ideal be worthy non-Ender foes?
    >>
    >>24053059
Maybe? On one hand, their consistently the strongest attribute in the series was having resources. Only they could travel by air. Only they could deploy a sizable force anywhere at the drop of a hat. Only they had an actual organization. On the other hand, they only had a single ace pilot, the rest of the force was made up of faceless mooks. The big boss only showed up in person once, right at the end, using the pinnacle of technology unit that didn't require waifubot copilot, although it probably had an egoless brain in a jar equivalent of one or something. Weird that the guy didn't go ballistic against Histoire's AI even though it appeared to be basically a proto Magus. Anyway, I don't think Ideal would cut it as a big league antag unless they were backed by a bigger, badder and superer robotter organization. I can definitely see what'shisface rubbing cheeks and being butt buddies with the Blue Cosmos guy from SEED. And I'd like to see more mass produced GILBOWs not eating shit for once.

It can still be played post-EoS. It'll just be lonely without other players and you won't be able to acquire what you want because there'll be no more Drifter Pass alongside EoS (they extended Drifter Pass until May next year, which is when the live service ends).

    >>24057345
    >you won't be able to acquire what you want because there'll be no more Drifter Pass

    >>

It'll be up to you to press on or not. I am, provided I get the upgrade/s I need to keep playing in my desktop and learning how to make Steam read any controller I plug into my desktop.
