    What explains this phenomenon?
    >>
    >>25621121
I don’t know but it reminds me of a poem I always meant to write about a man who would go around defecating in library books and put them back on the shelves. I was going to call it Between The Bindings
    >>
    >>25621121
I often get an urge to shit upon entering any quiet, hushed space honestly. It's kinda weird but I thought it might just be me. It's comforting to see that the Japanese have developed a term for such a phenomenon... Actually I believe the zoomers just call it "liminal"
    >>
    >>25621121
Because those people read on the loo? They see books and it reminds them, like flowing water, of their bodily ‘function’.
    >>
    >>25621121
I'm aware of that there's a word for this phenomenon but have never experienced it particularly.
    >>
    >The term receives its name from Mariko Aoki, an otherwise little-known Japanese woman who contributed an essay in 1985 to the magazine Hon no Zasshi [ja] ("Book Magazine").[2]:55 In that essay, she related how she came to the realization that, for some years, walking around a bookstore inevitably made her want to go to the toilet.
Poor lady, it gets named after her and everyone assumes she shat herself in a bookstore.
    >>
    >>25621129
Honestly, I think its time has come
    >>
    >>25621440
There are probably hundreds of Mariko Aokis in Japan.
    >>
    >it's real
    lmao what

    let people ENJOY things
    >>
god, i hate the japanese. ango sakaguchi was the only one who understood how demented that asylum of a nation is.
    >>
    >>25622624
    Absolutely, utterly based.
    >>
    >>25621121
Fancy way of saying you have IBS.
    >>
    >>25622624
I enjoy weeb shit but not the Japanese themselves. Like enjoying hollywood movies but hating Americans, which is much more common.
    >>
    >>25622667
    Nobody asked.
    >>
    >poo in the loo Japan
    :0
    >>
    >>25622690
I asked and I care. Fuck off.
    >>
    >>25622624
    thank you for the recommendation.
    >>
    >>25621121
Same reason you have to when you get out of the shower; your body relaxes and your poo moves in your gut finally.

    >Same reason you have to when you get out of the shower
    >you
    I'm normal, though.

Care to elaborate a bit? I was considering picking up learning Japanese since I have an interesting in visiting and potentially even living either there or Taiwan if I choose to go with Chinese instead.

im the guy he's replying to and i agree with him, stand down

    obliged and cheers

ive only read his non fiction. he's best known for Discourse on Decadence, both parts, which is where I started, then i read his personal views on japanese culture or whatever its called. both are very good, even in translation. he survived the 1945 toyko carpet/fire bombings and was a first-hand witness to a lot of atrocity and grim sights, so it influenced his thoughts a lot.

A lot of bookstores have a cafe attached to them. People will drink coffee (laxative) or tea (laxative) while lingering for hours.
    >>
    >>25625033
damn. i guess this also applies to those jazz cafes or whatever theyre called
    >>
    >>25625035
Last time I went to a jazz show I was just nailing my weed vape in the wine line and blowing the shit straight up into the air. I justified it as it's a jazz show they can't complain about weed. Two men even older than I am started doing a little performance to each other right in the line behind me

OH I FORGOT IS VAPING INDOORS JUST RUDE OR IS IT ACTUALLY ILLEGAL?

    OH IT'S ILLEGAL, ALRIGHT.

They gave me a seat at one of the partial tables in the front row, the band had a piano and was lead by a trumpet and it was a small venue so I got fucken nuked, very abstract dynamic jazz. The whole night was a kind of low profile fighting which suits me great.

    Nigger tier behavior
    >>
    >>25621121
I actually get this exact thing at the library. I always figured it was my body realizing we are going to be there for a while so it is getting all the potential interruptions out of the way so we can get comfy and stay comfy for a long stretch of time.
    >>
    >>25621440
Must be the excitement. I get that too.
    >>
    >>25625080
    >OH I FORGOT IS VAPING INDOORS JUST RUDE OR IS IT ACTUALLY ILLEGAL?
    >OH IT'S ILLEGAL, ALRIGHT.
believable milquetoast passive aggressiveness from jazz lovers
    >>
    >>25625093
    yes, jazz is very nigger-coded
    >>
I go poopy doodoo caca after eating my breakfast and drinking my morning coffee, it's at basically the same time every morning. Are there really people who get the need to shit at random points throughout the day?
    >>
    >>25625093
You are my intended audience for that post.
    >>
    >>25625185
Lots of people just truckin loads of turds around in their ass, waiting for them to break loose like oranges rolling off their pyramid in the grocery store. Farting and it smells like shit, getting relief from farting because of how bricked up with shit they are, but until the turtle head starts coming out they have no actual conscious idea they need to shit.
    >>
    >>25625080
    what bands did you see?
    >>
    >>25625185
a lot of people these days have undisciplined or inconsistent diets
    >>
    >>25625516
I'd have to go look through the pictures folder on my computer. If I can go out on the weekend I usually do but I'll go to almost anything so it gets hard to remember the names. Just one band for that show but they played for two hours. There was an intermission.
