Recently started reading this guy, and he's pretty interesting and nuanced. I was fed propaganda by /lit/roons that he isn't worth reading, but he's so based and redpilled. Why does he get slandered all over the internet despite the fact that most people who criticize him never read him and engage with a strawman version of his arguments?

fuck off ,lefty/pol/ is to the left down the hall.

It's time to rise up and roar,
    Let our voices be heard,
    As we shout louder,
    Than any alarm or bird,
    What do we shout of?
    A desire for eternal war,
    And a fascist roman Empire,
    That rules with total law.
The men will march in sync,
As great minds ponder and think
About how to make the empire large,
As a Caesar is in charge,
    The one that Spengler predicted
Disagree with Caesar, you'll be convicted
Of treason, and sent to a jail
And then taken to a spike and impaled.
We need a Roman empire today,
This is the one thing that we say,
We want to end usury and the weak,
We need a huge empire that stamps on the meek.

In fairness to the moldybread viewers I tried to understand his, whatever it is, and just gave up. Here's a review:
    >moldybread loves muh hobbes

Most of the regulars are already aware of my views on Hobbes. Most of them are also likely aware of my reasons for this. I will say most people who like Hobbes tend to agree on his idea of a strong unitary leader as expedient. This wasn't even something Hobbes came up with, you can find a similar conjecture from Aristotle who thought it was efficient. This checked out.

    >even though I'm a monarchist I've also incorporated libertarian ideas, I'm an autocrat for the masses!

No, you're an idiot. You also found this out afterwards.

    >even with a patchwork of strong central authorities it's still Hobbesian frfr

There can be only 1. You had to abandon the Hobbesian covenant.

    >well, alright, so look, we'll put aside Hobbes for a second and incorporate Lord of the Rings into Hobbesian philosophy!

What followed was, astounding. Apparently regular right wangers are just dirty hobbits and liberals are enlightened elves. Moldybread and his merry band of Hobbesians are dark elves who challenge the regular elves and win but the hobbits are too stupid to figure out if there was a win or a loss. I could make a joke that moldy and his accolytes are claiming to be black? It would be in poor taste. He may have forgotten about the dangers of worshipping Saruman (who moldy is claiming to be) contained in the Lord of the Rings. He also called almost his entire audience idiots. I can see why his viewership declined.

    >no no no, I mean, yes, but MY hobbit criticisms on social issues are important but hobbit criticisms are futile!

    Subsequently BTFO.

    >so, yes, I learned about the pitfalls of Hobbesian philosophy and I decided it wasn't a good idea so I really just want to say no one took my ideas far enough so I can still have my necessary lie of being the only superduperintelligence around.

Whatever you need to tell yourself.

    >wha-muh-marx also used this!!!!!

    Yes.

    >wha-muh-wha-wha-what am I supposed to do now?!?!?!

You can always complain about millennials like everyone else.

    >that's a great idea! The elves are overconfident! Maybe I can try again with Hobbes!

Technically you can always start over until you die with that one. If you care that much you can also move to a country where it still applies. You're still around? I guess you must be an overconfident elf too.

    >wait, I have another le great idea! So, forget hobbits and elves, now there's puppeteers and

I'm cutting you off here. You're a socialist. For trudcore points you need an actually powerful person to declare you a fascist, but you can always claim fagfash yolo, judgement free zone. Make no mistake, you are just a socialist. The whole dark elf thing also makes you a leninist. Good luck champ. Anytime the word vanguard gets thrown around it usually means there aren't enough dead bodies yet.

Moldbug is cringe because he claims to be a "monarchist," but his definition of "monarch" is basically a sovereign CEO who he wants to be responsible to a board of directors who can remove him if he stops being profitable. Fuck that. I am an actual monarchist. I want an absolute monarch, with the full historical regalia of monarchy, who is responsible to God alone. Moldbug might be a good gateway drug for people who still believe in democracy, but real monarchism leaves him in the dust.

No, this is how a large portion of roght wingers are. They believe in the Nietzschean idea of eradicating the weak and being merciless. The nazis were well known for being inspired by Nietzsche. There are Christian right wingers who believe in morality but today even they only half ironically larp as Christians while being machiavellian Nieztscheans at heart (witness Nick Fuentes).
    >>
Of course they love Israel. The people of Israel actually act like a sovereign state. No one else wants to die for their country unilaterally. They've got the ideology, history and political capital. So, of course all the totalitarian fanfiggers will ride their dick.

    >>25623526

The fundamental problem with Yarvinism is that it mistakes the aesthetics of hierarchy for the substance of tradition. He has some pertinent critiques of the existing system, but he is refashioning capital for a technocratic state. Ironically despite critiquing managerialism, having states organized around corporate entities and CEOs acting as sovereign only further reinforces it. It's a postmodernist ideology rooted in administrative techniques, it only really disagrees on who should administer the state apparatus.

The fundamental failing is its disregard of social value and importance of culture as the backbone of traditionalism, it instead fetishizes authority for its own sake without understanding legitimacy of authority. Political authority exists for the common good of a historically constituted community. The community does not exist as property to be administered for the convenience of political authority. Above all, conservatism should understand that the family, the church, the locality, and the inherited associations of civil society possess goods and purposes that cannot simply be subordinated to administrative efficiency, a more ideal conservative system would seek to strengthen those institutions rather than absorb them into a centralized managerial structure. The result is not so much a return to the ancien regime as an absolutization of the modern corporation. It is closer to a corporate absolutism, absorption of society into the state, with the state itself imagined as a corporation, and nationhood reduce to corporate entities and marketing demographics.
    >>
    >>25623477
Nick Fuentes would be a more trustworthy Catholic if he loved women and mothers. But he is a dictator who wants to force women to love dictators.
I don't think being merciless is Nietzschean either. Being a "master" is more complicated than brute power, and part of that power included trust, which cannot be built if people crush others. It reminds me more of noblemen and their estates, managing wealth and stuff like that. Successful ones do it in sustainable ways.

    >>
    >>25623544
There are passages in nietzsche talking about mass murdering the botched and weak, even if nietzsche himself is more nuanced in other places the right is largely influenced by that part of Nietzsche. Any traditional conservative movement concerned with moral values (like the old school tories) barely exists anymore, it has been overtaken by machiavellian fascist types, Trump being the prime example. Part of the reason i became a liberal btw, as conservative as my dispositions are (though now I am trying to be more open to gays and so on), the right is just too psychotic, low IQ, populist and dangerous to be trusted with power. The left used to be the biggest threat but now its the emerging fascist right.
    >>
    >give the autistic techbro pedophiles currently in power even more power

    what could possibly go wrong?
    >>
    >>25623569
I attribute this primarily to the pervasive influence of American hegemony. The ascendancy of Trumpism served as a catalyst for the subsequent rise of far-right nationalist-populist movements in popularity across Europe. Essentially, American globalization exported a distorted perverted notion of "the right" to its sphere of influence, just as America has exported other elements of its society and colonized the minds of its subjects through their omnipresent empire of global popular culture.
    >>
    >>25623580
    >>25623569
Trump isn't the only piece of the puzzle and to attribute it solely to him is simplistic. The European right has been drifting toward fascism for years. The National Front had been already steadily gaining ground in France (Jean-Marie Le Pen already infamously advanced to the 2nd round in 2002, his daughter is far more sanitized, the party has only grown exponentially since then and replaced the traditional Gaullist right), Italy’s long history of far-right movements that romanticize fascism (Meloni herself has a history of ties to fascist movements), and Brexit which was its own thing entirely. Plus, since the Iron Curtain fell, ethnonationalism has been a major force in Ukraine and across the former Eastern Bloc and Yugoslavia.
    >>
    >>25623580
Its at least good that people are waking up to the fact that Trump is antieuropean and Europe needs to be prepared for America to backstab us in the future
    >>
    >>25623598
Yes, but even Trumpism has its own distinct, Americanized flavoring - lowbrow, anti-intellectual, anti-traditional (while pretending to be traditional), no pretense of morality, pure Machiavellian self interest etc. which renders it something distinct from European national populism or fascism. Even Le Pen was a man of quick wit and profound sense of historical continuity. Even Hitler believed in a civilizational mission and historical continuity. Trump is a man of the immediate moment, of instant gratification, and it reflects in his movement. Furthermore, the Balkan and Eastern Bloc trajectories are largely tangential to a discourse on "The West," as the enduring psychological legacies of the Ottoman, Byzantine, and Tsarist empires forge a distinct sociopolitical consciousness.
    >>
    >>25623613
Hitler was the object of a cult of personality. His project was romantic in its rhetoric, but in reality more akin to a militaristic death drive than to any genuine desire for preservation.

    >Jean-Marie Le Pen
He was more or less a street agitator and rabble rouser organizing around football hooligan thuggery, closer to MAGA than you are implying. Anglos have this tendency to assume any French speech is inherently classier than it might actually be.

Trump is a moron, but your homegrown problems are your own. You have plenty of organic totalitarianism and cults around ignorance, blood and violence to worry about.

Yarvin basically keeps the idea of elitism alive and shows why it's actually necessary. The big mistake the modern right made was the shift towards populism. It doesn't matter which country or situation you're looking at, the problem is populism itself, where random people think they know better and should just make decisions based on whatever they feel like in the moment. The right basically gave up its tradition of elitism to the masses, which is weird since the whole point of their ideology is supposed to be about hierarchy, power, and standards. Yarvin provides a way to keep those things going in the modern world without pretending that technology doesn't exist.
    >>
    >>25623630
in theory, this makes sense, but it presupposes the "elites" are based on merit, which they are not. its not even "breeding" like the old aristocracy, its more in this case circumstance and nepotism between cosmopolitans and insular cliques
    >>
    >>25623647
That's a result of the liberal democratic system itself. There's no accountability as there is no central sovereign in the Cathedral. Because power is distributed unequally, the system devolves into a competition of bureaucracy, where social status serves as the primary metric for the managerial clerical class. The point is having accountability and a clear head, clear structure (Formalism). The corporation is the most effective model for organizing as it has stake in real tangible gains, so it becomes something tied to a non-abstract metric and realist in terms of where power is already concentrated.
    >>
    >>25623654
imagine actually thinking a corporate board is the peak of organizational efficiency. lmao. have you ever actually stepped foot in an office? your ceo is probably a mouth-breather who can't tie his own shoes without hiring a consultant, yet he's the "visionary" while the people actually doing the work get squeezed for every cent. does work get done quickly and efficiently always just because money is on the line? lol hell no. it just makes the middle managers more desperate to pretend they're doing something. why the fuck would the answer to the crisis of liberalism be to duplicate the logic of the private sector that liberalism venerates? we need to actually organize around the national interest for once and remember what the fuck we're actually supposed to conserve in the first place.

Yarvin strikes in the foul heart of the egalitarian beast. He performed a comprehensive autopsy upon the necrotic remains of the Marxist project, the democratic delusion, and that particular species of liberal egalitarianism. With precision he dismantled the Cathedral’s faux-ecclesia, that fragile artifice of Enlightenment consciousness and the vapid, performative alchemy of social constructivism.

"The most dangerous place to be is in the middle of the herd."

For the past few years, I have completely immersed myself in the intellectual frameworks of the Thielverse and the Yarvinverse. It hasn't just been a study of philosophy—it has been a fundamental rewiring of my operating system. When you shift your lens from conventional wisdom to First Principles, the world looks entirely different.

My roadmap has always been clear: Build a disruptive startup Scale Become a Thiel Fellow.

However, as I navigate this journey of high-agency growth, I've realized that the 'lonely at the top' cliché is actually a practical reality. Finding a tribe that speaks the language of Neoreaction and contrarianism in a world of conventional narratives is a challenge.

I am looking to connect with fellow Thielians, Yarvinists, and high-bandwidth individuals who are building the future. If you are operating on a similar wavelength or are adjacent to these philosophies, let’s connect!

I understand the tendency to frame liberalism as decadent. However, the elitist and NRx mindset fails to grasp that the most efficient way to secure one's own longevity is to ensure the machinery of the state is functioning optimally for everyone. Even for those of us who find the general public utterly tedious, or even repulsive, as I do, the logic remains cold and empirical: a nationalized, taxpayer-funded healthcare system, stripped of the parasitic for-profit middleman, is the only rational choice. Why? It is a matter of enlightened self-interest. If the peasantry are healthy and the middle class are not bankrupting their lineages for a hip replacement, the entire social ecosystem stabilizes. It is a basic tenet of governance that seems to have escaped the current political class. Really, what is the alternative? To suffer the indignity of a crumbling infrastructure just to maintain a sense of superiority over the 'liberals'? It is an absurd trade. We already provide a gold-standard, socialized system for the members of Congress, the Administration, and the Supreme Court. To extend that same efficiency to the rest of the population is simply a prudent investment in the stability of the order.

Only lately have I begun to understand how scary the world is as a stupid. Thinking about Blood Meridian, with the judge lecturing, no man agrees but none dares oppose him because they can tell he's so much more big brained.
Men orient themselves in the world by their beliefs. It is literally how we physically orient ourselves. So having our beliefs challenged is threatening. Few men can tolerate it. You see this everywhere. Challenge a soi and he'll call you a racist chud (heathen). Challenge a chud he'll call you a kike (heathen). Challenge a muslim he'll call you a kaffir (heathen). Men, especially stupids, protect themselves from new information this way, and always have, by plugging their ears. Because the information is a threat to their existence, or they perceive it that way, same difference.
Very, very few men can actually evaluate facts and logic in any sort of impartial way, much less new theories and philosophies.

What does it matter? This is the child's way of seeing the world. It's all about who is a GOOD PERSON.
The adult understands that incentives are what matters. The incentive structure in place can turn anyone into a monster or a saint. Pointing at individuals and calling them 'good' or 'bad' is a child's view of the world.

    >a nationalized, taxpayer-funded healthcare system, stripped of the parasitic for-profit middleman, is the only rational choice
Bull shit. This isn't any more true for this than anything else in the market versus government debate.
Only retarded commies think that healthcare is some special category. Know who needs healthcare? Nobody. Only highly dysfunctional people. Normal, halfway responsible people can go decades without going to the doctor.
Which all is beside the point that the market provides better service, even for low income people, anyways, in any sector you care to name, whether it's consumer goods or healthcare. Our system sucks precisely because of government intervention and socializing costs.

The fundamental mistake of American-style conservatism and free market fundamentalism is that it forgets the true purpose of the nation-state in lieu of placing highest priority on protecting property rights. The nation-state is fundamentally the institutional expression of a political community whose members possess reciprocal obligations arising from their common membership in that community. A working man who regards the national state as an institution concerned with his welfare has considerably less reason to regard it as an instrument of class domination. I am not arguing from a sentimental moralist perspective, or perspective of efficiency, but from a realist principle. After all, the aristocracy bore corresponding obligations toward those beneath it, noblesse oblige. The market left to its own devices dissolves the obligations and communal solidarities upon which traditional society depended. The objective is to ensure that medical provision serves the nation rather than treating the nation as a market to be exploited. Both state and market must be subordinate to the enduring interests of the nation.

It may depend on the indicator used to measure effectiveness, but, in terms of the function it serves, it is crucial to provide certain elements intended to appease the masses in order to preserve order, or, at the very least, to ensure a material floor. The idea is we maintain these provisions as a paternal obligation, securing the loyalty of the people while preserving the hierarchy that sustains the national order.

    >>
    >>25624987
Your logic is predicated on a crude Darwinism. The preservation of a conservative social order sometimes requires the state to protect ordinary people from forms of insecurity that threaten their attachment to that order.
    >>
    >>25624959
The realist perspective would acknowledge the constraints of budget, and the need for austerity measures to reduce bloat in the American government
    >>
    >>25625001
Yes, the modern state is clearly overextended and constitutes a labyrinth of incestuous institutions mired in bureaucratic regulations, however, you see the very anxiety and precarity we are discussing manifesting in the contemporary United States, leading towards increased populist and extreme revolutionary sentiment. In these circumstances where the lower classes feel insecure, marked hostility toward the established order emerges, precisely because the organic bonds of duty and deference have been severed by this modern instability. There is a forgotten fundamental principle of governance in the liberal (laissez-faire classical sense, so free-market libertarianism included) perspective. That is the understanding that solidarity and a sincere, serene patriotism can only flourish when individuals feel secure in their circumstances, and that individualism is a flawed mechanism in which to analyze or organize a society around, as it is incomplete in its assessment of human nature.

    >The nation-state is fundamentally the institutional expression of a political community whose members possess reciprocal obligations arising from their common membership in that community.
Sentimental hogwash. The frontiersmen who went West to establish manifest destiny had no need of the nanny state to impose taxes on them in exchange for an abstract sense of national community. America was founded on the principle of INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY and the trust that free men could administer their own communities without intervention from the federal government.

    >A working man who regards the national state as an institution concerned with his welfare has considerably less reason to regard it as an instrument of class domination
Working men are the ones who under the system of nationalised healthcare must forcibly pick up the bill for the slackers, where up to half of their wages in European states go towards welfare.

    >After all, the aristocracy bore corresponding obligations toward those beneath it, noblesse oblige
The aristocracy in Russia in the 19th century were posting ads in the Moscow Gazette for the sale of their serf-girls. This concept of noblesse oblige is the most revolting piece of gaslighting I think I've ever heard. The attitude of those in the "inferior ranks" towards their "betters" is always servile, polite, humble, accommodating. In fact they live their ENTIRE LIVES devoted to the luxury of these "betters". They get no credit for this. There is no concept of peasant oblige. Because that's "how it's supposed to be". They have a knife at their neck, after all. But the moment a nobleman deigns from his seat of high majesty to acknowledge the humanity of one of these lowly beings that number in the majority, we are to credit him with this high-sounding virtue, "noblesse oblige". Well, if it is permitted and common to explain the devotion of a servant in purely cynical terms, and to state that his life's devotion to his master is fully explainable in terms of his own fear and self-interest, then likewise we can explain this "noblesse oblige" as an attempt by these nobles to brainwash and satiate those in the lower ranks whom they oppress, knowing that they have the numbers to put off their rule if they so wished.

Politics isn't that complicated, why is everything shit? Because we have boomers and nepobabies running the world. It's that simple. As far as I can tell all Yarvin has to say is he fucking loves the status quo (but he loves it in a way too esoteric and high IQ for you goy-I mean plebians to understand)

I can't necessarily say Yarvin is some esoteric in seriousness but he may meet the definition. He's not stupid but he's smart enough to flatten to appearing as an idiot. Yarvin's main problems aren't here, he struck me as being highly mathematically inclined, and to your point, politics as a philosophy and economics are frankly inherently boring.

    >Yarvin clearly is influenced by some abstract first principles deductions on economics

That's nice, you can show up with the best stochastic modeling on the planet and most of the influential people are going to want empirical data. There was a point where the Rand corporation thought computers would offer a revolution in the field every year, it would become normative. This may have also wrecked a number of Austrians, everyone can applaud their deductions but nations go right back to empirical data. It's a paradoxical juxtaposition that such advancements only reinforce older methods.

In politics it's probably worse. Rawls may have been the most influential thinker in a century, most people have never heard of him because he had a stutter and avoided public appearances for most of his life while engaging with the public just enough to stave off claims of full on recluse. His revolutionary offering was making normative liberal thought normative again. He did it without any metaphysical claims that could be refuted. He may have been a socialist since his made it compatible with that. He wrote the most boring books on politics ever written and no one has ever been able to topple the guy without resorting to relativism and getting recycled through his experiments. Nozick was highly influential but at this point he's almost an artifact. Strauss offered a 3rd option but he also winds up as relatively normative and with a similar critique to Rawls in terms of outcomes.

    >it's a boring field. That simple. Rawls and Strauss also incorporate the natural state.

It also has the same response economics has, it's far more empirical than most people think. Yarvin can show up with all sorts of deductions and no one will care and go back to looking at empirical data.

    >He's a primitive critical theorist.
