Can you gues the point in the book where it became too silly and dumb for me?

I really liked this book for what it was. I enjoyed how ritualistic and shamanistic his practices were. Was nowhere near as disturbing as people say it is. It's pretty much a black comedy through and through. The brother character was really cringe, though.
The twist was at once bad but also pretty based in hindsight. I read it last year around the time the transgender person shot up the school; so it seemed oddly prescient to me. Was still a stupid twist, though.

I would have liked the brother's plot to have amounted to more than it did. It just kind of builds up to nothing

when the tranny protagonist tied his baby cousin or sth on a kite and he it float away into the ocean and then fantasized about someone finding a baby skeleton floating in the air

Yeah what the fuck was he thinking with the kite death? Looney Tunes shit
