>BLATANT data mining thread
I use Gemini way more than ChatGPT so I asked it instead. Suffice it to say it got it totally wrong.>Here is the bookshelf filled with books and study materials fitting for an undergraduate humanities student in New Jersey who loves literature but might have some strong opinions on city living! I’ve packed it to the brim with Dostoevsky, Pynchon, and local history like The Pine Barrens and Philip Roth, along with textbooks, folders, and natural dorm room clutter:
>>25616876it seems to know brothers karamazov was supposed to be a trilogy
>>25616853Used chatgpt because Gemini was stupid about it and gave me jumbled titles
You know the bots that make these threads correlate the posts in this thread with the resultant chatgpt queries to identify you in a persistent way
>>25616993that's why i don't be using chatgpt at all
oh good so now we're playing with AI the same way toddlers play with dolls and video games, how swell.

>>25616853Notice how such wholesome community-building threads, and strengtheners of the common brotherly bond between /lit/ men, would languish on page 10, but all of the bait, /pol/, and schizo threads always max out. Why?
>>25619555Anon, how many books on literary theory do you need to understand a story?
I asked ChatGPT to do it.
>>25619574>I asked ChatGPT to do it.Koran freak is outed as a liar yet again, imagine my surprise.
>>25619563The ecstasy and the warm joy of delving one’s proverbial wick into the oil of literary theory is the very flame that keeps the literary mirth and satisfaction alive. To arrive at a meaning or definite conclusion would mean the death of scholasticism. The final understanding is but an illusion. The process of staying embroiled in scholasticism of theory is the nirvana in itself. The endeavour of journeying itself in the reaching of destination. So much better to travel than to arrive.
>>25619591I read a book called The Morphology of the Folktale one time and yes it had red cover and yes I do actually like borscht.
>>25619612Stalin's insistence on socialist realism BS caused immense harm to the fledgling schools of literary theory.

Oof
>ChatGPT, recommend me books based on my personality >recommends a bunch of pozzed modern shit written by women and minorities. Obviously not based on my personality at all. >tell ChatGPT those books are awful and ask it to try again, but this time only white, male authors >ChatGPT starts lecturing me about diversity and threatens to end the chat >give ChatGPT a list of authors and books I like, who are all white, male, and have been dead for over 100 years, and tell it to recommend some books based on these>ChatGPT recommends LGBTQ re-imaginings of those books, non-fiction (when I didn't include a single non-fiction book among my list), and feminist shit (when I didn't include a single feminist work). This is why you don't take anything AI says seriously.
Am I cool lit?
>>25621677AI has been poisoned so much it's extremely error prone. Anymore, I can tell it's bullshitting and looked things up it was telling me, which turned out to be completely wrong. No wonder why AI companies are buying books en masse then scanning and destroying them for their new models.
Not posting the image, but oh boy am I disgusted by the result. Like, it makes sense considering what I used ChatGPT for, but the books are so far from my actual taste it's funnyfirst row is almost entirely self-help (Atomic Habits, You Are Badass, Dopamine Nation), second row is sci-fi and fantasy (Dune, Ender's Game, Project Hail Mary, Recursion, Dark Matter, The Hobbit, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Name of the Rose, Mistborn, The Way of Kings), and last row is diet books, fitness books, and cookbooks--all of which are titles I've never heard about before.Honestly, I'm curious why ChatGPT would know some of y'all like da bible, philosophy, typical /lit/ books. Like what are you asking it?
>>25621677It's been more subtle for me. It tries to sneak in fotm and woke books, but it gives a few good recommendations as well.
>>25619555>Constitution of IndiaSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR...
>>25617022>same hydra
when you ai fags do this can you please fucking ask it to have the books facing cover forward on the shelf not their fucking spines the op image looks ten times better than the trash you are posting and is almost instantly processable since it has less titles with bigger text and cover images no thread consumer wants to pore over tiny spine text of fifty titles you retards
