There was a novel written by what I thought was a GM, had to look it up as I never read it. The author is a FIDE master and the book is called "Lisa: A Chess Story." Don't even remember how I heard about it initially. Not a glowing review really but I found the name of it by going to this page and scrolling to the bottom, maybe you can look around there and find some other ones.

The Chess Players, historical spy novel makes Morphy the MC. Probably trashy.
