It makes me sad that the reveal that Jax is trans in the last episode seems to have severely diminished this show's online presence. It wasn't even what the episode was really about it was more of a background detail. I don't know why trans anything is such a debuff to normies.

>>45181360Not completely related and maybe I’m reaching but I really believe that transphobia is what led to the misunderstanding of Jax’s character amongst normies.At its core, Jax’s story is about a person doesn’t allow anyone to get close to him because he has learned after one bad experience that opening up to people causes them to get hurt, not realizing that pushing them away after the fact is what actually does the damage.When you strip his story down to its essentials it’s tragic and sympathetic and sad. IF what he confessed to his mother in the moment that led to him being like this was anything else, the general audience would’ve been able to see him for who he really is and would’ve been able to understand and forgive everything he’s done in the series.But when make it so that the thing that he confessed is that he’s trans it sort of just short circuits the minds of these people and it’s all they can fixate on. Everything else goes completely out the window and in their minds it just becomes “Jax acts the way he does because he’s trans”
