Any troons come out at work after working there for a few months? How'd it go? Bonus points if it was an office job and/or customer facing.

One time a few of my coworkers were like "Well I'm gay haha" and the other one was like "me too haha" and then they looked at me and I just stayed looking down and ignoring their obvious queue. And then me and the gay guy were alone together and he kept kinda pushing me until I started kinda crying and then he stopped.
>>
I worked in a customer facing office job and I was really early on in my journey so I just leaned into guy mode for the first few months. When I eventually decided to socially transition most my coworkers took it well. Anyone who had a problem with it luckily only talked about it behind my back. But my boss was awesome and super chill so she was able to take the brunt of any negative interactions I would occasionally get with customers or fellow coworkers.

10/10 no regrets.

i was a server. one day i got sick of everyone calling me by my deadname so i came out. they reduced my shifts to one per week, my manager repeatedly deadnamed me and claimed i was mishearing him, and then i was taken off the schedule entirely about 3 months later.
at my new job theyve only ever known me by my current name, and its gonna stay that way. hell, they think its my legal name too. and because i do direct deposit i dont have to deal with my paychecks not going through either.

That fucking sucks. Glad it's going better at the new place.

Yes. I was working in sales when I came out. It was an office job that also required a lot of client entertainment, so I was travelling around the country a lot, meeting people and taking them out for dinner, etc. I was 21 when I started the job, and started HRT shortly after my 21st birthday. By this point I was already fairly feminine (had long-ish hair and skinny). I went for around 6 months on HRT, and then my boss started receiving emails in which clients had begun referring to me as 'she', etc. I also had a client straight up ask if I was a boy or a girl at one point. Around that time I eventually came out to my manager, and then he helped me prepare a statement for the wider company and for my clients in which I announced the change. People were overall pretty chill about it, and the company were good at getting me a new email, etc. I know there were a few men there that seemed a bit odd about it, but overall it was fine. The women in the office nominated me for 'Most Inspiring Woman' at the next International Women's Day thing the company did, which was a bit mortifying.

Fortunately, I think waiting until I was semi-passable and visibly estrogenised helped people accept me. That was years ago and a lot of the people I worked with are still close to me.

I'm on a building site, people were like wtf but now it's pretty much just banter as usual. The conservatives probably talk behind my back but dont want to make an issue out of it incase they get fired. My new nickname is voltage, after a voltage transformer that you use for some power tools.

That's good to hear. I've a couple times at my new job. I'm hoping it will be a fairly easy transition once I do come out. I'm aiming for spring/summer.

Customers are mostly blue collar (I work in permitting). Hopefully they'll be OK.

>>45168706
Gotta be pre-2020. I can't imagine this happening in the current climate.

*I've already malefailed a couple times

Genuinely great to hear. I hope you’re crushing it.

dunno. I'm gonna keep up the boy mode at work for a while. a couple of my closer coworkers know and are trying to convince me to come out to everyone else but fuck that.

im waiting until people start noticing. it's been over a year of working exclusively customer facing jobs while on hrt and no one has said anything apart from the occasional trans customer
>>
If your job is anything above like minimum wage I'd suggest keeping everything about yourself a secret, the middle class is genuinely evil and will use anything about you to keep you down. When you're in a miserable minimum wage job at least there's no ceiling to aim for so we all keep to ourselves.

been working at my current job for 7-8 months. im 21 and 3 years on hrt. i told some coworkers and they told me they thought i was a pooner lol.
still not coming out tho

honestly being super ironic about it and not breaking the straight-man persona has helped so much more than I’d imagine, quoting the “sir, it’s ma’am” video anytime I get sir’d is a really funny way to tell people without making it awkward and for some reason only phobes can’t tell I’m serious so they’ll also gender me correctly to “play into the joke” it’s so funny, I got an elon-loving trumpy girl I work with to properly gender me, definitely a plus that my name is a shortening of my deadname so phobes just see it as an unusual nickname and not a trans name

also, being into women definitely helps me, multiple times ppl will assume I’m gay and when I say “I’m just a tranny, i like women” they won’t gaf and will treat me normal, even in the south where I’m at, I frequently go drinking with a couple guys I met cause they called me a faggot at the bar, not being into dudes makes straight men care a whole lot less about how you present and look

Transwomen mog women when it comes to nearly every task, so

That's really surprising. Is it just homophobia?

I boymoded for 2 years while taking HRT
>kept malefailing to randoms or when getting lunch with my team
>told boss (who i was semi close to) after 2 years im trans and changed my name a few months prior
>"cool! Ill let the team know if you want"
>tells team
>team immediately switches to she/her and my actual legal name, occasionally my Indian coworker messes up since he's WFH only but eventually he stops as well
>no one is surprised
>start wearing dresses instead of hoodies
>use my voice trained voice that I worked on since high school
>coworker says it feels more natural this way, also says he's not surprised
>get asked out by someone from another adjacent team a few months later
>some girl says she's surprised she never noticed me after I told her ive been here 3 years, "i thought I knew all the girls here"
>current manager told me "im glad we have more girls on the team now"
Honestly the best case scenario for me

Oh and the trans person i know here doesnt know im trans and constantly explains to me about her hrt and surgeries. Too afraid to tell her since she's a transbian and extremely vocal about it.
>>
>>45164512
Nope. My team tried to she/her me into coming out but I kept up my manmode until they gave up.

i truly envy those of you with normal colleagues. i'm a 30 year old mtf and i work IT helpdesk and my coworkers are four 40ish year old cis guys. there are two who have basically /pol/-tier politics, one in particular spends way too much time on facebook or reading the news and every time he's in the office he spends half of the day ranting about immigrants, leftists, trannies, etc. the other also talks about these things a lot but he at least usually won't bring them up unless someone else does, but once you get him going it's total sperg mode for like an hour nonstop and i mean stuff like "throw them all in camps". our boss is black so they tone down the more racist stuff when he's in the office ofc but he himself is pretty conservative on lgbt stuff, will make quite negative comments about gays and trannies when it comes up. the only one who's actually normal is the 6'5 gigachad guy but he doesn't care enough to call the others out if they go too far, i just know from our own conversations that he's pretty moderate politically. it's so exhausting. i pass and they're all really nice to me and treat me like a normal woman, but they'll joke about trannies or talk about how disgusting trannies are right in front of me every now and again and it does bother me a lot. i obviously don't say anything though. i can't wait to leave but i don't want to just make a lateral move into another helpdesk job so i'm biding my time. definitely would never come out there but i never discuss being trans with coworkers anyway.
>>
>>45164512
No, my coworkers are mostly older guys that make nasty comments about the trans customers that semi-regularly come in, so I'm going to manmode for as long as I work here. A couple of customers have clocked me but I usually work in the back.

Most workplaces needed the NKVD to occasionally do a sweep and take away people to who knows where, and they’re never seen again
