If we managed to make baloons holding vacuum instead of needing expensive/explosive hydrogen or helium would blimps make a comeback?
    >>
    >>65621528
How have you not drowned in a glass of water.
    >>
    >>65621528
Hydrogen and helium work literally 95% as well as vaccuum would without having to create a balloon made out of a physically impossible material
This question could easily have been googled, which is what I did and am summarizing for you. Youre welcome.
    >>
    >>65621692
    We're running out of helium.
    >>
What is with this zero effort negative IQ frog threads and how are they not deleted on sight?
    >>
    >>65621711
    Thats been long debunked.
Supply chain issues =/= running out of helium
Regardless, vaccuum balloons are not an alternative, as they physically cannot exist.
    >>
    >>65621538
Vaccum weighs less than helium or hydrogen, dumbass.
    >>
    >>65621528
Your balloon would need to be made of diamond.
    >>
    >>65621528
Balloons can already hold vacuum. You can vacuum the air right the fuck out of a balloon. And it won't float because it isn't buoyant.
    >>
    >>65621528
    >helium balloon
    >perfectly save
    >truely dysmal volume to lift ratio

    >hydrogen balloon
    >might explode
    >pretty good volume to lift

    >vacuum balloon
    >implodes when punctured
    >needs to be build as a pressure vessle

Honestly, retarded as this thread is, now I am kind of curious. Can you actually design a vacuum vessle that is light enough to actually achieve lift off?
It should be possible in theory...
    >>
    >>65621528
Next time do the lowest effort google search possilbe and skim the wikipedia article.

    So use a rigid balloon.
    >>
    >>65624235
Wikipedia is lame and administered by literal faggots.

    ...what

    >>65621711
Just fuse hydrogen. It's not rocket surgery.
    >>
    >>65621692
    >Hydrogen and helium work literally 95% as well as vaccuum
    Show math.
    >>
    >>65624308
Not an argument against a specific article you illiterate nigger.

    >vacuums cannot exist in a balloon any more than balloons can exist in a vacuum
    They can, it's just classified.

    >>65623638
    Lead would also work.
    >t. not pencil lead...

    >Air - 1.204kg/m3
    >Hydrogen - 0.0899 kg/m3 - 13.5 times lighter than air
    >Helium - 0.1785 kg/m3 - 6.7 times lighter than air
    >Vacuum - 0.00 kg/m3 - INFINITE times lighter than air

Tell me anon, which is greater? 13.5 or INIFNITY (Assuming structural elements can be ignored :^)

    >>
It's easy we just need a material that is half the density of diamond while having 50% greater stiffness
    >>
    >>65624536
    >which is greater? 13.5 or INIFNITY
Infinity minus 1 will always float higher.
    >>
    >>65624581
Like my cock? It literally levitates in your mom's pussy.
    >>
    >>65624584
Levitating implies that it isn't touching the sides you micropenis fuck.
    >>
    >>65624308
somehow despite all that this creature is still slightly less gay and retarded than OP
    >>
    >>65624232
I think if it was possible, I'm sure someone would've done it by now.
1 atmosphere of pressure difference really isn't that much for a vessel to deal with compared to industrial pressure vessels operating under 10-100 times that (just positive instead of negative). I think the main problem is that the amount of lift by volume is so abysmally small I doubt there's any construction of any material that won't either be too weak or too heavy.
If someone can pull it off, it expect the material used will be in high demand by the military
