    Always wanted an mp5.
I’ve been debating buying the sp5 or the ap5.
Even if I get an Ap5 that’s “just as good” I worry I will always regret it not being a real HK.
On the other hand the HK is just so much more expensive it’s crazy. It’s usually not 2x as much but closer to 2.5x as much.
I wonder if it’s worth the investment and pride of ownership over saving so much money and just having a blast shooting.
    >>
    >>65621289
Bought myself a scorpion. Once I get my kit in, I'm looking at designing a section of weld on picatinny that will attach to the lower portion of the trunion.

I might even take it a step further as a "modernized" VZ61 that uses a extruded aluminum upper with all the modern accoutrement sounds so hilariously stupid that I want to make one. Or I might just keep it simple and design the rail to have a floating top section as well. Wait and see. I'd rather just buy a separate stripped upper to tear apart than waste my one good upper.

Also looking at 3D printing a ~30 round casket magazine. Its going to depend on how .32 acp acts when feeding is merged. In previous experinents I've done, even 40 round casket mags, properly designed, can work extremely reliably if you're not trying to stupidly make a sprkng push 3 fucking pounds of ammunition.
    >>
I was worried about being attacked by a hundred unarmed, unarmoured people so I built a ppsh on a glock frame with a monopod.

Also did the maths and a 3/1 variable rate of fire, like a cyclical burst is ideal for target acquisition in full auto

    >>
    >>65621334
as far as I know there's one or two 3D printed ones out at the moment that mostly work, but they're single position and have an absurd rate of fire
unless you're going to 3D print your receiver to be able to use an ar-15 FRT and then you'll have more options, albeit a bit ugly
    >>
    >>65621661
100 or 90 degree. If you plan on using a suppressor 90 degree would be the better option just to keep the fouling down a tad but both will work just fine. Any non +P+ ball 9mm will suffice, flat nose stuff is hit or miss depending on your gun.

Bought this thing today and I wanna brag so I suppose this is the thread to do it. The Rhodesian LDP pistol, this specific model was actually produced in Rhodesia.
Took it out to the range for the first time today and this thing fucking blows. It light strikes constantly, throws a ton of sparks when shooting, the stock can just collapse itself mid firing and also it can't hit the broadside of a barn. It's to the point where at 15 meters my groups were the same size as my groups at 50 with a Garand. That being said, it's may not have reliability nor accuracy but it does have character and I'm overall happy with my purchase.

    >>
    >>65622094
You can probably fix the light striking with a heavier spring if the pin protrusion is good. If it's not you might be able to trim back the shoulder on the pin itself.

Don't listen to the other anon.

If you have the full-size AP5, don't change a damn thing. It will not function properly with the FRT. I've been down this road with mine. I bought the other locking piece in preparation for use with a FRT because retards like him said so. Gun was a jam machine. Swapped the factory locking piece back in, everything worked. I shoot with and without a suppressor, also shooting 115gr, 124gr, and 147gr.
    Keep it as stock.
The ONLY people who need to worry about switching the locking piece are those with the K (AP5P) version. The k models are the ones that everyone has issues with and damaging their guns.

Ironically, the AP5 is closer to the original design than the SP5.
    >>
    >>65622454
Bolt gap was within limits with both pieces. I wouldn't be dumb enough to try shooting it without checking.

The fact is, the damage issues are prominent with the K version. There's no reason to fuck with the full size.

Anyone try the Springfield Kuna? Was considering is since I want another roller delayed.
    >>
    >>65622457
    How so?
    >>
    >>65622467
The SP5 was specifically designed as a semi-auto. Complete with the cuckshelf.
The AP5 was more of a US market conversion of a production submachine gun.
    >>
I'm probably a faggot for this, and loving dick, but man I kind of want that meme of the month CAR-15 SD in 9mm from last year
    >>
    >>65622467
The AP5 literally has a full auto trigger pack in it. They take machine guns off the police production line, clip the tip of the auto trip, and braze in a couple blocking tabs
    >>
    >>65621710
I wanted badly to buy a vector until I shot a suppressed .45 w/FRT as a leftie. Absolutely the worst. The gas dumped straight into my fucking face. Like it was designed to.
Fuck, I'd rather chainsaw left handed than shoot that thing.
    >>
    >>65621401
Even without rewelding you could probably build one on a tortort for close to that
    >>
    >>65622467
They made the SP5 unable to accept original MP5 trigger packs. That's what the other anon was talking about with the cuck shelf.
    >>
    >>65622510
How is that legal if you could just swap in an mp5 full auto bolt and trigger pack without modification? Wasn't nfa compliance the whole reason they had to put the shelf there in the first place?
    >>
    >>65622517
There's a couple tabs MKE added to prevent full auto part functionality. I haven't looked into how easy it would be to convert them, but they met the minimum requirement for the ATF.
    >>
    >>65622467
The SP5 has all sorts of alterations made to it, to the point it's down an entire pin and has gay warning label bullshit. You're paying top-shelf prices for the single most cucked MP5 offering there is.

    Wood stock fucks on Uzi.
    >>
    >>65622763
I did, I bought 2 different brands and I tried a third one that I borrowed a couple rounds of from someone at the range, cause I figured it might like some kind more than another. It's absolutely the guns fault.
At first I assumed the inaccuracy is my problem too, cause I've never shot anything open bolt so I assumed it's just the forward travel of the bolt throwing off my aim. The instructor there was curious though so he gave me his uzi to try out and I put 5 rounds nearly in the same hole, so that's also definitely the guns fault.

    >>
    >>65621661
AP5s are turk roller guns so don't listen to either of those other retards. The correct answer is "it depends". As far as ammo goes it's typical MP5 advice. If you don't go over 147gr and don't have pre-existing issues with the gun then you shouldn't need to worry about grain weight. 124gr is typically the most reliable in AP5s, 147s are frequently flat noses and can cause feed issues. Mine dislikes some but will feed others with a narrower meplat fine. As far as locking piece goes the standard AP5 locking piece is at a higher degree than the standard MP5 LP(100degree). This may cause issues or may not depending on the gun. Mine was running way too hard with the stock rollers and locking piece, both needed changed for proper function regardless of FRT use or not. Yours may be fine. If you plan to run suppressed and yours is running fine then you may consider dropping down to the 100 degree but I'd run it stock at first and check your ROF and brass. Shoot for around 800 or 850RPM, check that your brass isn't getting absolutely mauled by your ejection port, check that your ejection is consistent but not overly strong. Locking pieces are only $40 bucks so it might be a good idea to grab a 100 degree one and give it a try, just remember to check your bolt gap again after swapping it out and before shooting the thing.

There is no one size fits all answer for roller guns, let alone turkshit roller guns, each one needs to be treated as an individual.
