You still have the same max pressure (actually lower by saami specs for 30-06 but I don't think people consider that "real") so your case capacity counts for not without a long barrel and slow powder to make use of it. And even then, only in situations where you'd run out of room to stuff a fat bullet in there. With the right powders you don't really need the extra capacity. I got 175gr bullets to 2800fps with .308 out of an 18" barrel. It's not a simple "beeg case=beeg speed" situation
