    Hypothetical situation:
You live in Jew York City, need to go through a moderately sketchy area at 6am to get to your job which is a cushy white collar office job with a controlled temperature.

Choose one weapon: single shot 22lr handgun or knife
Choose one soft armor: II, IIIA, spk2, or spk3.

    PICK

    1911 in .45ACP.
    >>
    >>65610835
I would pick a fixed blade knife under four inches, and carry that in a sheath inside the waistband. I would wear an undershirt, and put a IIIa vest over that. In the event that I am attacked with a knife, I would just run away. Theres no point to standing your ground. If someone threatens me with a gun, the chances of stopping that fight with a single round of .22 are practically nil, so I would charge them and attempt to stab them in the throat, the chances of success are higher and your armour has a chance to be utilized.
    >>
    >>65610898
    >fixed blade knife
In New York? Are you insane? In that state you can carry a completely legal knife and the cops arrest you for "having the intent to commit a crime," which they'll "infer from your possession," and they'll be able to tell it to a jury as an "expert witness."
    >put a IIIa vest over that.
Body armor is also illegal for civilians.
    >>
    >>65611515
just stab the cop thats arresting you, they'll let you out in a week if you do that

i'd go with a twaron spk3, might help a little with slow rounds too, folding knife under 4" strictly for opening boxes. i was afraid i was going to need to do that with my finance degree, luckily i made so much investing i can just sit around playing video games and shitposting.

    just got declared unconstitutional.

There is a 14-day injunction on enforcing that law, Oct. 21 to Nov. 3. Now they are waiting for the second court to appeal. Hopefully the retarded law gets taken down, but if it doesn't, then anyone who buys armor right now is taking a legal risk.

I've done this before for years. It's called steering away from black people who aren't wearing suits.

Honest question, if you're gonna get in trouble for carrying a gun in NYC why bother with a single shot 22 or a black powder gun? If they're just as illegal to carry as a Glock with a switch why not carry whatever you want if the consequences are the same?
    >>
    >>65610835
Given that I work a cushy white collar office job, I take an Uber like a normal person.
    >>
    >>65610835
    Hypothetical answer:
    >weapon
If those are the only choices, I'd pick the knife, even assuming I had a carry permit for that handgun. A single shot .22 is just stupid, especially in this situation. When you carry a gun in NYC there are so many strings attached and insane penalties for stepping out of line. With a knife if you get caught with it the penalties are significantly less severe to nonexistent. Even normies carry knives in NYC.

There are large sections of the city (times square, the entire subway system, etc) where it's illegal to carry a firearm, meaning even a NYC concealed carry permit will not save you from a cop looking to get an easy gun collar. Probably illegal to carry at that white collar job too. If you're gonna have all those strings attached it's better to carry a real handgun, like a 5-shot snubby at bare minimum to make the risk more "worth it."

    t. legally carrying my lol9mm in NYC since last year

    >soft armor
All of those sound like they'd protect well enough against common threats, so whatever's most concealable. In NYC the name of the game is not drawing attention to yourself.
    >>
    >>65610898
Just carry a cheap Amazon knife that looks expensive, doesn't matter if it's legal or not because if a cop finds it on you he'll just confiscate it and give you a warning so he can take it home for himself.
    >>
    >>65610835
    Hypothetically, I would move.
If you have a cushy white collar office job, you have the money to move somewhere safer.
    >>
    >>65613875
if you're looking for a knife a cop would pocket a knockoff chris reeves seems ideal.

blade length is legal in ny you just can't say you're carrying it to defend yourself.

New York City has become too gentrified since the late 90s. You have to go out of your way to the suburbs to encounter your self-wanking scenario. Also, if you really have a cushy job in NYC, you'll have at least a driver and company car.

Wear a girl wig while you walk. That way if somebody attacks you you can blast the shit out of them with a concealed 9mm, and the courts will let you go because it was a hate crime against a protected minority(trannys) and you were only carrying that because you feel so targeted and vulnerable.

Literally just outjew the Jew it's that simple

    >I just love the hustle and bustle of the big city!
I feel like that pasta doesn't go far enough. I'm from a small town that got annexed into a big city and (((affordable housing initiatives))) surrounded me with undesirables and quadrupled my property taxes and now it takes me 3x as long to get to work. The homeless have made their way out here now that there are enough gas stations to support them and I can't go anywhere without someone asking me for money. 2 days ago there was a guy passed out on the sidewalk near my house next to what looked like half a bottle of whiskey. I'm hoping that I can obliterate my mortgage (less than $30k left) then rent out my house while I fuck off to the smallest town I can find that still has a good hospital and an HEB.

My friend visited flyover country one weekend and got to see a young lady burned at the stake for witchcraft because she said the earth was more than 4000 years old and then they publicly executed some dude for jerking off into a kleenex because that was thousands of potential unborn babies he just murdered
    >>
    >>65614436
I can see the argument from both sides. People who aren't from big cities don't have the instincts necessary to survive safely in them, there's a kind of situational awareness and general common sense about where to go and how to act that you can really only get from being a big city native or living in one for decades. (And in many cases the latter still doesn't do it.)

On the other hand, having to be paranoid and hyper-vigilant 24/7 fucking sucks and I never even realized I was doing it until I moved to somewhere actually quiet and safe.

I also live here. Only got into a few scuffles. Most people who own guns here are pussies scared of their own shadow. The trains get pretty bad in the winter, though. That's when all the crazies huddle up in the train cars
I swear, entering the train feels like entering a street fighter level.
    >>65616562
What it really means is not staring at your phone like a retard at night or being stuck in your head. Being aware, present, and in the moment is all you need here.
    >>
    >>65610835
I'd pick the gun because the moment I draw the average robber would run away and the mentally ill I would avoid.

Always living in the past. Red states are growing, mostly because of blue refugees but also Mexicans. I don’t intend for this to sound like a brag because I’m not proud of it but I would like it to be taken as an insult towards blue state shitholes.
    >>
    >>65614436
It's really a mixed bag. I lived there for about just as long. Got mugged once when I was younger but I was out at really retarded hours in a not so safe area. I saw someone get shot once. Saw crazy people every day while going to school/work.
Pros and cons to living anywhere. It would suck to try to own a gun in NYC, that's for sure. Hell at that point you might as well just become a cop instead lol.

I feel like you just want to justify being a noguns, anon. I feel for you, having just recently sold one, but as you may already know, this is easily rectified.
But if you were to go with the .22, I wouldn’t dick around with trying to aim and shoot someone at a distance. Get up in their face and shoot point-blank at the head.
There is a particular psychology when it comes to derringers vs other guns and that’s what I believe you should subscribe to.

    >>I feel for you, having just recently sold one, but as you may already know, this is easily rectified.
I don't actually live in Jew York City and I don't understand what you're saying but if you're trying to tell me to build a harlet, I was already going to do that. Feel free to donate me the harlet build kit or gen1-4 g26 parts for my builds next year (first guns, I refuse to buy guns also so only option is to make my own) :p
